The hyperbole isn't helping your argument any. This isn't a 'tweak here and there'... aside from having weapons in a similar configuration, it looks nothing like a Leman Russ.

Indeed.
As I wrote above, I see no sense in the argument made.
This is original tank design, period.

Folks, I reckon don't waste any more time on that particular discussion.

He came, he trolled, he left.

Well, MAN SE might have some words in regards to how original of a design it is... Those words would not have any force of law behind them though and even if they did there's obviously enough to make it a distinct derivative work from the original. GW would have zero though, given that other than the broad strokes of "It's got a turret and a hull-mounted gun and the option for side guns" there's not much design similarity.

Very tempted by it given that there's always a use for tanks, but knowing that I want to pick up a number of fairly expensive kits in the near future (Chaos Knights, SoB, etc.) makes me a bit hesitant. Really cool design though, so it may win out in the end.

That tank looks sweet. Reminiscent of a Panzer V with the sloped armor front.

Definitely some good panther flavor in it.
And a sweet tank commander to boot.

@mortar_crew There will be many more tank commanders to come as well

There are still 10 or so pre-orders remaining, at a reduced price. If you want to get a good deal and support a small business in the process, why not pre-order one today?

No joy on that front, GW just claimed IP on them.

Apparently they should tell the French. Those would have made perfect WWI Cuirassier heads.

Yes they claim there is too much similarity to the DKoK Commander

Still waiting to hear back from them about what I could possibly change to make them happy, I'm guessing its the gas mask.

Awww, that is a shame :(

Seems a bit nuts, when both models are based off a historical design:

We'll find out soon enough eh.

I know it's a big thing, but honestly I hope you don't cave in to them, they're clearly overstepping the bounds of what was already established as reasonable in the Chapterhouse case.

Both are evidently derived from historical designs, which should really disqualify any claim over yours on the face of it, but on top of that there are clear differences in detail between them like the shape of the helmet and the style of the crest.

They shouldn't be allowed to go back to their old bullying ways where they use threats and intimidation to achieve results that they have no legal right to.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?

I agree entirely, but the issue is that lawyers are expensive...

To be honest, they aren't really bullying me.

They are concerned about a few specific design elements and whether they infringe on their protected IP..

We are having a discussion about them currently so I'll leave it at that.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Contacting small companies with "concerns" when there's obviously an implicit threat that failing to address their "concerns" will have legal & financial consequences seems like bullying to me, but if you feel otherwise that's that given it's you that has to deal with them.

I hope the situation is resolved fairly.

In the long game, it's not fair. If they change their tone and start making demands, I will probably have to comply for fear of legal action. I agree, that part doesn't feel fair.

But for now, they are being cordial and I am ok with the exchange as it currently stands.
