Are you guys into the Flesh Tearers or something? I've never been interested in them. They seem like over the top maniacs. Like loyalist beserkers. Like Blood Angels but angrier and more one dimensional. Am I missing something?

The new hardcover and bigger paper book format is not a good move IMHO. Two reasons for me:

1) BL authors aren't good enough to justify the price tag. Yes, great pulp reads for fun and I do enjoy them but definitely not hardback purchases.

2) When a series moves to hardback I have a tendency to get bored waiting and lose interest. It happened with Gaunt series and with John Twelve-Hawks traveller series.

It is starting to happen with HH, which was originally only meant to be a short run of stories until they realized how big it was. Now, the big battle we are all waiting will be dragged out and dragged out and will happen until GW/ BL goes belly up and some fan fiction takes.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

If Amazon's release dates are to be believed ANGEL EXTERMINATUS isn't being released in the 'standard HH' format until July.

I like them because they are failing ... but not necessarily falling to Chaos. IMO, that is the most interesting of the BA themes.

I always thought an interesting story could be written about their fall. Being on the precipice too - but not perpetually.

Ultramarines tend to be in the Ultramarines books, and I'd rather read about the Ultramarines.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

As promised, we have a huge amount of new stuff for you today, so without further ado, let’s get started...

First up, we have some new digital downloads. Perihelion by Dan Abnett is a new Eisenhorn and Ravenor short story that takes place in between the Ravenor story arc and Pariah. This provides some extra insight into the relationship between these two iconic characters and is a must-read for all fans of the series
Secondly, we revisit the Sons of Russ in Doomseeker, an audio drama by Nick Kyme. We join Skeln (last seen in Thunder from Fenris) in the midst of hunting a mysterious, shadowy prey. What will it turn out to be? You’ll just have to download the audio drama to find out.

Continuing with our digital releases, we’ve updated our eBundles. These collections allow you to get every title in your favourite series at the touch of a button. Read every Horus Heresy title; get to the heart of the action with the Space Marine Battles; purge the heretic with Eisenhorn and Ravenor or follow the Salamanders and Night Lords in their complete trilogies.

For those of you who prefer your books made from paper, we’ve extended our free shipping offer, so that it now applies to all orders until January.

And the new releases don’t stop there. Be sure to join us tomorrow when we’ll open the first window on our Black Library Advent Calendar. Throughout the countdown to Christmas, we’ll have a new digital story for you every day, with tales from all of your favourite authors and a swathe of new talent.

Finally, we’ve just got time to let you know that there will be a brand new Horus Heresy title available to buy from Monday, but you’ll have to come back then to find out just what it is...

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

IIRC this is the "enhanced" version that comes with the artwork -- which people have generally been somewhat scathing over, YMMV of course -- and the author's notes at the back which t'would seem don't add a lot to the book.

Again YMM etc etc /

I've become quite annoyed by the constant limited editions and $50 novellas, sometimes written by hack writers no less. I bought the Angel Exterminatus book in hard back as a gift. For me personally it was not even kind of worth the money. The extra images are of middling comic book quality and not in color. I recommend if BL has any shred of integrity left for their work they start drawing down the HH series, which certainly has many incredible entries in it, and drop all these hard back and collector editions. Of course, I have no illusions about how likely either of these recommendations will be taken.

The Angel Exterminatus ebook is priced the same as the ebook version of all the other hardback releases, it's not priced because of the additional content

Why are they writing everywhere "Born to us" this new story when it is clearly obvious that book is named "Born unto us".
Saw that mistake repeated.
