Do we have an audio drama expert in this thread?
I've got all three of the Garro Audio Dramas, and I greatly enjoy them, but do you know if the next few audio dramas are going to be how he gathers his team?
If I remember correctly in Oath of Moment
Then Legion of One, Garro has most of his crew with him already when he goes off and searches for
, Yet by this point he has Varren in his company, so why does Sword of Truth take place (in order of release) after Legion of One, but before Legion of One chronologically?
Will they be spending more audio dramas finding his team, or will he be going off and progressing his little storyline?

I believe the release order was down to just production issues and time....?
No big deal with them filling in a bit of backstory IMO. YMMV of course.
I do enjoy the Garro audio dramas a lot, aside from the Gotrek and Felix one ( which is still my favourite one) I think they're the strongest straight to audio tales they've done.
Burden of Duty and Grey Angel are the next ones, you can download them now, I'm waiting for the physical CD as I I am old and reckon this digital thing is a fad, the future belongs to the analogue loyalists ! prefer to have a physical copy , just in case.

I'd have loved a good Yarrick book, I wouldn't even have minded if it were hardback (so long as it's a one off thing, my only real issue is having 10+ HH books in softcover then being handed a hardcover).
But I hate this novella trend WITH A PASSION.

It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that. |

I'm enjoying them, I was just wondering if there was rhyme or reason for the weird "release". I would have not had a second thought if it was, "Oath of Moment", "Sword of Truth", and "Legion of One". I can't wait for the follow up tales, X of Y and Seven of Nine
I enjoy the Garro stories a lot, and I can't wait for the next one

I liked Grey Angel quite a bit. And yeah, I think that the Garro audio dramas are probably at the top with a few like Raven Flight and Throne of Lies slipping up there once in a while. Haven't gotten the Gotrek & Felix one yet. I might have to do that

He had a short story in "Treacheries of the space marines" that was pretty solid. Not stellar but certainly had the odd moment.
I intend to pick up his Black Dragons space marine battles book.... if that had been out first/earlier and I'd enjoyed it a lot then I'd take a punt on this, as it is.... think I'll probably wait, unless end of month paycheck is better than I think it will be.

I'd say obliterators, it's weird how far art diverges sometimes, especially in relation to well published artwork for things like bolters.
I think part of the Iron Warriors background is that they are continually modifying and upgrading their bodies with tech The Imperium would normally forbid. Those could actually be "normal" Iron Warriors.

I saw Flesh of Cretacia at a GW store. It's only like 100 pages. And like $25 US. WT ?? I can't even call it a book at 100 pages, and it's hardback to boot.....
What is the deal with GW/Black Library. Are they trying to price themselves out of all people's ability to afford? I get that their games are geared towards young teenagers with no impulse control, but who are their ridiculously priced books aimed at?

they have put out Iron Warrior, which was the first, iirc...

i'm waiting for it, myself...
a $4.99 eBook, which i can get with an iTunes card, is much better than a $60.00 version that i have to go through the hassle of the BL website madness everyone went through for the first few Novellas...
hopefully, BL have not changed their minds about releasing an eBook a few years after the Novella...
i don't mind the wait...

Well, I've manage to chew through my newest eBook:
"The Greater Good".
Unfortunately, while it DOES represent a great addition to the Cain series, it is hardly Tau-focused (as one might guess from it's title).
Instead, Tau involvement is (for all but a single minor character), limited to the first chapter or so.
Primarily, this is about the Tyranids, and how Cain keeps himself alive during certain discoveries on an AdMech Forgeworld, that ends up attracting a Tyranid splinterfleet right to it...
One actually learns more about the Tyranids, and how they 'organize', versus much more about the Tau.
Here's hoping "Fire Caste" in March has more substantial material.

Bad news. Mitchell's "For the Emperor" still is the best Tau novel out there, so clearly a missed opportunity (and a misleading advertising).
Can't be as bad as McNeill's "Courage and Honour" (a whole Tau army of orbital landers and anti-grav vehicles fighting desperately over a bridge across a river ) or Andy Hoare's "White Scars" though (Tau are characterizes in two ways: those that explode by bolter fire and those that are splattered in close combat )

FWIW, the Tau that ARE shown, are shown competently.
The book even demonstrates how ex-Imperial humans fit into the Tau Empire's culture, and how humans can be used, if only briefly.
White Scars was horrid, I agree; C&H also, I think, strongly implied/stated that Burst Cannons fire actual *shells*, not rapid-fire plasma microbursts.... geh.
