JB: I like the concept of a free Shrike roaming through the treetops of the jungle. I'm not sure that I like the idea of a real Shrike sitting on my couch eating my Skittles.

I dont think its too hard, I did the tatts and they didnt come out too bad, buuuut seeing as your painting gets better and better and better with each update I expect the tattoos to be 100% film accurate

Shrike... I'm so witty it's unbelievable haha
I'm gonna try to get as much painting done as I can over next few days... I'll be busy at the weekend as I'll be performing the role of 'Tour Guide Barbie' at my volunteering job lol (That should totally be my official title ).
Hopefully will have Bombur finished soon though! His eyes are gonna be impossible I fear- even the one GW painted hasn't really got any!!! xxx

it's just amazing how much your painting skills has improved since your first mini! great job!
if i am to give any constructive critisism it is that you could make the ultra symbol on his chest more round and less like a U.
but then i must add that it looks great just as it is!
i really need to get my ass to the movies and see Hobbit! everyone is talking about it and right now it feels like i'm the only one who hasn't seen it 
i'm abit ashamed for it too..

Yes I have to agree... I looked at my Sanguinary Guard the other day and couldn't believe how different they are in quality to what I'm painting now... But I've still got a lot to learn!
And YES you have to see the Hobbit it's the best thing EVERRRR I'm so totally obsessed with it haha xxx

Yeah, the book is awesome so the movie's got to be EPIC! it's just that i have 200km to the nearest movietheater..
and have you thouht about giving your Sanguinary Guard another paintjob? with your current skills they will look epic.  or atleast paint one to see the difference

Your Balin rocks Bubble! I think I got my primer coat too thick on mine, I couldn't get his facial definitions very clear, you got his most prominent nose perfect!
Now if you can paint his funky patterns..you'll be a paint Goddess

We get the DVD weeks after you lucky Americans though! How will I cope haha
MY GOD Bombur's eyes- they're just pits!!! I'm trying to paint the face but it's so detail-less! I don't blame them though, the thing is tiny. Don't think his face is gonna come out as well as Balin's but oh well :S xxxx

Just paint them as eyelids, with a little eye at the bottom!
Or better yet, paint it one big eye, then paint the eyelids over that?

Mwahahahah- we deserve the credit for producing Tolkein and lots of the influences for LotR, plus Jackson was born in, and filmed from, a british colony...
yeah... "stature"...
anyways, great work- really difficult for people who've not seen the models in person to grasp how ridicu-small they really are
