You have a known and proven history of clashing with the TO. He has already come forth on his blog with a statement as to what was concluded after contacting the culprit's first round opponent. We are sure though that you will continue to attempt to derail what was a successful event for no other reason than pettiness.

He has a known and proven history with others as well even on Dakka where he was banned. Pretty sure a re-post of known information won't derail his event... or should I say "your" event Steve.

@Mannahnin
I think it's relevant to discuss in thread. As the other thread was locked extremely quickly and this does affect the event noted in this thread.
I do hope seperately that his name is provided to at least other TO's. I wouldn't wanted it posted publically nor him banned from other events. Just informing other major event runners of his name so he can be watched.

If a TO wants to know his name they can either send a PM to this account or contact the main organizer on his blog (greenblowfly.blogspot.com). There is an article there that discusses in depth the use of loaded dice and the final outcome.

Hate to break it to you Hod but you couldn't make that stick. I mean you could actually sue but luck getting a judge that let's it stick after the opening statement.
And I wasn't asking for a public announcement. I was saying it would be a good thing for TO's to know his name to keep an eye out. If it was a mistake then the TO's can keep watch but it'll slowly fade into the nether. If it wasn't a mistake but knowing TO's have his name causes him to correct his issues it's for the good. If it wasn't a mistake and he doesn't reform it's best he doesn't tar another event and it's a good thing TO's have his name so they can keep looking at him.
By the way, the fact that his first round opponent caught him at it and just didn't call a judge over does make it harder to believe it was an "accident".
The fact is that he is a member of the TO's game club (or at least posts regularly on the TO's forum). The TO's "article" about the outcome does smack of brushing it aside.
I'll leave it at that. Personally I'll never attend this event. I'll freely admit to a certain dislike of the TO's internet persona and that's part of the reason. The way this was handled would have me asking for my money back at an event. Just my two cents.

It may get thrown out or it may be heard. The fact of the matter that it could wind up in court and end up costing money in legal fees. I do agree with you that there should be some sort of blacklist that tourney organizers can share privately so they can either not allow the player to join or keep a real close eye on him.

Theres no defamation for simply stating fact. A TO giving the name of a player caught with a loaded die is simple fact. Defamation only occures if said TO was to start attacking his character publicly.

Yep, one of the tenants of slander/libel/defamation is that the claim has to be false and able to be proven to be false. Not suggesting the TO do it, that's the TO's call, but there wouldn't be any trouble for simply stating. "XYZ player was DQ'd or otherwise sanctioned for using a loaded die at our event"

This is one of the most stupidly ongoing discussions. Get over it folks. I know this guy personally and his story is probable. We do have dice bins and many D&D players in our area. Very likely he picked it up on accident. We all know him in our local group which is highly competitive and large. You all would be lucky to call him friend and after several years playing him, he could care less whether he wins or loses. All he cares about is drinking and playing. To continue this is such a waste and thread needs to be closed. On a brighter note, looks like Beaky 3 will be the most epic of all tournies next year. Can't wait for you all to hear about it.

It's not stupid. Whether he is your friend or not he was caught in two games using a cheater dice. A dice I might add that it is extremely hard to not notice is weighted when you hold it.
This thread does not need to be closed. This is something that happened at BeakyCon and as such should be discussed. That said yours is the only over the top post that's been posted recently in this thread.
Personally I hope that the BeakyCon organizers learn from this and continue to grow their event. Several people seemed to have enjoyed it and that's definitely a plus. Just because I have no intention of attending doesn't mean I don't encourage event growth in the country.

@jspyd3rx Weird, never said we should make him wear a red letter or bully him. I'm against posting his information for the world. I think TO's should be aware of him and for good reason. A single person can have a very negative effect on an event. A negative effect that can hurt them financially and lessen the number of possible venues for us tournment goers. Seems reasonable they should be aware of potential issues. A good example is the winner of the first Nova Open. He had a list that was 3 points over. He said it was a mistake and it wasn't intentional. His win was pulled and his lists are now triple checked at any event he attends by judges. Pretty sure he doesn't consider it bullying but a reasonable result of what happened.

A lot has been said by people on the Internet who were not there and do not know the full details. I believe your stance is the person with the loaded dice should have been immediately expelled from the GT and not allowed to play any more games. It also looks like you want disclosure of his name to the public domain. Note that the this person is not a member of the same gaming club as the head TO... he is a friend of some of his friends from the Miami area.
He was punished and no one at the GT has indicated this lessened their enjoyment of the event with the exception of his third round opponent. There is no way to go back now and change this. What is the point in keep rehashing it other than to keep the focus on the cheating incident?
Upon further investigation it was found that his first round opponent also said he used the loaded dice but did not make this known at the event. Based upon this revelation he has been banned from the event in the future. Any other TO wishing to know the name of the person can contact the head TO.
What more is there to discuss? I do not think he will be heading up to BFS any time soon (which incidentally occurs on the same dates as BeakyCon) so I wouldn't worry about that too much.

@VBS
Not sure who you are responding to. I don't see anyone above on this page stating his information should be released to the public. Not sure where the BFS comment came from either since no one above mentioned it.
I do think he should have been banned immediately or at least his future opponents given the information to make an informed decision of whether they wanted to play him or not but that's honestly beside the point.
And we haven't been rehashing it. I did point out that it was still on topic to discuss in my opinion to the moderator and outside of someone attacking people civilly discussing the issue nothing has been blown out of proportion.
I sincerely hope your event continues to grow Steve. I don't particularly care for your online persona or attitude but any even that can get people together to play with little toy soldiers is a good thing.

FYI - my name is not Steve.
We are very excited to share with everyone here our thoughts going into 2013 for BeakyCon3... 256 players over three days with eight rounds to produce one undefeated player for the coveted award of Warmaster. Armies will be 2250 points...
- Allies are in
- Double Force Organizations are in
- Forgeworld is in
Each round with be three hours. We are bringing back multiple brackets again for even more awards.
We want this this to be THE TOP EVENT for 2013 and we are already working on putting together our new team to make it happen. We've got an awesome friend from Disney to handle our Internet. This is a very ambitious project and will require a lot of work plus planning. We will need your support to make it happen - we can't do it without you. This is our ultimate dream - we need to hear your thoughts to know if it is an achievable goal so let us know what you think. We can't do it without your full support.

I've got nothing against it and it sounds interesting - but as to your "is this achieveable" part: what was your turnout this year as far as # of players in the GT? If you're already well over a 100, it's ambitious but probably doable, if you're more in the ~60 range, I think shooting for 128 is ambitious as you want to get. It'll also be an "easier" transition to your end goal and grow the event - remember, if you're at ~60 now (im making that number up) you'll need to double everything just to hit 128 -> staff, tables, terrain, size of venue (which probably means moving venue), etc. etc.
Just some thoughts!

Sounds like the gladiator without Super Heavies (I'm assuming). I wish you luck. Though I think the 256 mark is likely out of your reach since you didn't fill up a 64 person event this year.
Personally I'd suggest the same as Target. 128 spots and focus on running an event that is so smooth that nothing can blacken it. I'd say you're still 2-3 years away from 256 people. Last time I checked only Adepticon, Nova, and maybe WargamesCon pull in over 200 people.
