We don't do this hobby because it is easy, we choose the chop up our models and the other things, because they are hard.

...oh one amendment to the images. I've pulled all the carapace sections off and cut the membrane struts down so they are more protective than just plain parasol like...

...currently toying with the idea of doing my proposed third 'cyte as an empty one, with empty interior and open still. As I envision that once open they can't close again, so act like floating upside down salac pit...

Not 100% on the idea atm... But who knows... I'm mental

Small update for you today, as I'm waiting on gs, and without it I'm stuck lol

I think it's how it's standing (and in spite of having more legs) it reminds me of a Chameleon... might be a thought for a colour scheme for it.

Minor Update:

WIP Mucolid no.2 with no.1 as comparison. I think I've made them too big btw...

If they are between 2 and three inches you are ok. Otherwise they are bigger than normal. Not that it really hinders them in game.

I have a Baldrick challenge for you, to make a spore from a turnip that looks right real and also does not fall over.

Is how my last two days have been so far... I've wasted so much gs on failed attempts to get the petals for the opening sections of the 'cyte done.
Having made incorrect templates twice, and then once I had made a press mould, couldn't get the thing out again without ripping the gs.

I've just ordered some Polymer Clay in the hope I can at least bake some sections which can form the basis of the gs work...

...you'll know if this has worked or not by monday... currently I'm in "stab anything that moves" mode...

It'll be okay, we all hits snags on our projects.

Sounds like you need to take a bit of time away from that particular model. Do something nice and easy in the next few hobby sessions you sit down for and then come back to the petals when you are a bit fresher and less frustrated.

At least that's what I do when something gets me in a similar mood. Or I go play sport and release that pent up energy on the field.

I'm going to finish off the second Mucolid, and possibly start some painting I think. As for sports, I need to go back to the gym as my weight has become a problem again and it's probably partly why I'm as frustrated with things as I am.

No seriously just walk away from the model and leave it as frustration will take over, I have had the same thing myself on several occasions going back to it with fresh eyes works.
