Love that Ork dreadnought and the camo scheme on the Enforcer. Great use of your self made transfers on the Knight as well.

But best of all is the sheer variety on your blog, so much stuff to gawk at.

Lovely job there, Slinky! Love the pattern on the top! Currently working on my own House Stark themed Knight, so it's nice to see some painted stuff to keep me goin'

PS A House Stark knight sounds cool - Hope to see pics when it's done!

Thanks, Azazel and EDC, I am pretty chuffed with the way it turned out! I may add a FW friend for him at some point

I have been trying to decide on a colour scheme for my Rohan, so while I wait for inspiration to strike I have started on some Uruk Hai for them to fight...

Just a very early WIP with some paint splashed on

Your splashed on paint looks pretty tidy to me. Nice work.

Uruk pikemen are looking good so far. How many more of them do you have to do?

Thanks - they paint up quite quickly - lovely models despite being single-piece.

I have worked out a 500pt army for LOTR SBG, totals 30 models, so I hope to get them all done fairly quickly (as long as I can keep it going )

I also painted up a couple of foam hills:

That takes me to 69 painted models this year!

Nice work - the bases really add a lot to them and finish them very nicely.

Got started on the next set of Uruk Hai - A captain, a banner and 4 with sword/shield, this will complete my first SBG warband!

No pics, but I have got a bit further on these - Just the skin to highlight, a few "white hands" on the banner, the captain's face and maybe a shield or 2 and then the bases!

Nice work, Slinky - how many Uruk-Hai do you plan to paint all up?

30 in total - 3 warbands worth for SBG totalling 500 points,

Then I am thinking of working through all 3 LOTR journey books doing all the terrain and models needed for each scenario - Would be quite a challenge, but it appeals to me

I started doing that long ago. I didn't get very far, but perhaps I should pick it up and try to do the same again. Just getting the Fellowship done was the annoyingest part - all those alternative models and wanting to batch paint them so they were consistent.. I got halfway through Gimli.

4 months of no painting activity whatsoever

I may be about to resume, however - I have sorted out my next Uruk Hai warband for undercoating, and actually feel enthused, so hopefully will be picking up a brush again this week

Well, after that super-long break, I have finally put paint to model and finished 3 Nazgul!

Not varnished or based yet, but the weather isn't great for varnishing at the moment...

Very nice, the warmer metal on the sword hilts and the blue-ish robes really work well together - Often nazgul look like black blobs with silver bits, but with the contrasts on these beauties you've avoided that very nicely.
Oh, and welcome back!

Thanks! V kind words.

I have kept up the momentum, and since these are v simple paintjobs, 3 more are done!

I also have 4 Uruk Hai approaching completion

Oooh, Nazgul!

Ok, that sounded strange. I'm sure my reaction would be less enthusiastic if I were a hobbit.

They look great!

A change from LOTR stuff (though I have 4 Uruk Hai berserkers underway too).

I recently purchased a Cerastus Knight Lancer, and will be painting it up to go in my Fire Wasps force.

Got the carapace finished!
