So. Many. Daemons.

When running a summoning list, you never can have enough Daemons.

Last night I had 6 Greater Daemons on the board

Paint test for Nurgle models

FLGS didn't have any Nurgle Rot, so I orderd some. I want to use Nurgle Rot on the Beasts of Nurgle bases.

There is a bit more sculpting to do for each of them before I start painting, but I'm pushing to have them done in the next week or two.

I've actually gotten more sculpted on each of them since I took that picture.

It's possible that I've been watching too much iZombie, but I'm really considering painting them with a white skin tone.

My Pink Horrors are pink.
My Tzeench stuff is purple.
My Nurgle stuff is Green.
Khorne stuff, if I ever field any, would be red.
So I'm really considering white for my Slaanesh stuff.

Only hurdle there is I've never really painted white models, other than drybrushing white over a black base coat.

GrimDork wrote:Goodness, they're nice and large.

Not only do they look more impressive, towering over the other models, but it helps cuts down any argument of modelling for advantage.

Spoiler:

Another Dakkite Fallinq has evidently used the Reaper Storm Giant as a Keeper of Secrets

I kinda wonder if we both had the same bright idea, or he took inspiration ffrom mine.

Just saw this on Facebook, over on the Warhammer Proxies Group

Spoiler for those easily offended by miniature nipple slippage
Spoiler:

Figure by Grant Blinco

My daughter was just talking about getting rid of some of her old Barbies she doesn't play with anymore. I may have to try this gak and giggles.

That gets a a kinda "Toy Story" creepy kid and toy mish-mash vibe

The trademark Barbie smile makes it all kinds of creepy.

Soulgrinder Barbie is on my to do list. No where near the top, but she's on there now. Previously, I was thinking of using a WOW succubus action figure for the top half, but Barbie is definitely creepier. Already have some work done one the mechanical legs. I figure I'll make the leg in 3 parts and cast them as needed.

Some progress pics of the Greater Daemons I'm working on. Any ideas before I star painting them ?

Added some bulk to the Great Unclean One. Really trying to make sure he doesn't end up with any severe undercuts, so I can cast additional copies of him, one he's done. I don't really have any room in my current list for Nurgle forces, other than those summoned, but having found it realatively easy to customize as many beasts of Nurgle as I need, I'm slowly working on an all Nurgle themed army as well.

Base coated all of the Keepers of Secrets. Probably going to go see Avengers: Age of Ultron this weekend, instead of gaming, so I have two weeks to get them ready for battle.

Last night, while watching Daredevil, on Netflix, I put together my first attempt at a Soulgrinder leg. I figure if I do it correctly, I can make a mold and cast as many as I need.

I'm happy with the dimensions. Just need to bulk it up a bit, and add more detail.

these mish-mashed Daemons are properly chaotic!

The Daredevil series is excellent, with some big payoffs starting in episode 11.
Spoiler:

What makes you think you're the first man I've shot?

Orks were my go to army for whacky conversions, but Chaos Daemons have allowed me a lot of freedom to be creative.

Beefed up the joints. Wanted to provide more surface area for gluing. Also tried to remove any extreme undercuts.

No where near done painting, but the detail certainly sticks out better with a little paint on them.

The Great Unclean one is sporting larger more larger shoulders, knees, gut, fists, horns, top row of teeth, as well as a more migthy posterior.

I've been looking forward to seeing how some paint pulls all those different bits together - as it turns out, rather well I don't think you gave a parts breakdown on the rightmost keeper, where did his head come from? Asian-y dragon thing?

Thanks !

I know the multicolored plastic was throwing it off for some people.

That's an easy one. I't a Glabrezu Miniature from the Giants Of Legend expansion to the D&D Miniatures Game.

Kind of kicking myself now, since I used to have 3 of them, but now only have the one. They make pretty much perfect Keeper of Secrets with no conversion.

Safari LTD has a line of Fantasy Figures based on Greek Mythology. The detail is great and they aren't the cheapest, but much less than a comparable sized GW miniature.

In any case, I was in my local AC Moore when I spied this greater Daemon sized forbidden beauty, Medusa.

$11.99 MSRP and I'm heading back tomorrow with a 55% off coupon.

A little more paint done

Made some Heralds on Tzeentch on discs

Nothing quite like psykers on jetbikes zipping around the battlefield to harass the opponent

Also summoned up a herlad of Slaanesh to improve morale

The rear end of a Great Unclean One, because, reasons..

And the Blood Thrister I've assembled and started painting even though I have almost no intention of ever fielding him

I have, but between Greater Daemons, Daemon Princes, Necron Sypders and Destroyers I've used like 20 of them and I'm currently out.

I was just annoyed because I have at least 50 of each 25mm, 32mm, 40mm, 30+ 50mm, over a dozen 75mm, 20mm, and 30mm, within arms reach and I'll have to go through the bother of casting more.

The 60mm is big enough that I only have a single base mold for it. I'll end up casting additional 25s, 32s, and 40s with each one.

I did pick up Medusa, and I have an idea for an out of the box Great Unclean One

I know Great Unclean Ones are usually fat, but I can picture this Cyclops as a giant sized Nurgle Plague Bearer

What do you think ?

Thanks. I may graft some crab claws on her, but I figure I can still do that after she is painted.

I have a pretty playable core of a Chaos Daemons army now. Trying to get it all painted, and looking more cohesive.

Should probably work on a pair of Daemon Princes and a Soulgrinder to round out my heavy choices.
