Well that's great, and it could work, but I'm more talking about the quantity of physical cards. Each new expansion has brought with it a wealth of new weapons, but there haven't been any "non-combat" items to go with it, so we have an abundance of weapons where players are ignoring sawn-off shotguns and various blades weapons because they've already got two better shotguns and two better melee weapons. But we still only have the same amount of beans, rice and water as we did when the game came out. For this game to go beyond the basic board-game setup and include an RPG element - something I wholeheartedly support - we need more things that aren't weapons.

Just leave out a bunch of the weapons. I really don't need half a dozen chainsaws in my equipment deck so I leave most of them out, making the couple left worth haggling over. If you don't edit down the equipment deck from multiple sets, missions which require you to search for specific items can take forever as everyone discards dozens of swords, axes, pistols and shotguns while trying to find some mission critical gas among a massive stack of cards.

Also, food items are not useless in missions when they aren't objective items. Considering you must discard an equipment card whenever you are wounded, having canned food on your belt you can drop instead of that assault rifle you've been using is very, very useful.

You must drop an active card, actually. Meaning something useful currently in a hand. So the food doesn't help for that. But I do love the idea of using all food as cookies-makes total sense.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

This may have been discussed before but have to ask

Is anyone aware of the Chinese manufacturer producing some of the KS exclusives without consent from GG/CMON?

I've see a number of the KS exclusives on ebay coming from China. No box, no stat card. Jut the mini.

And this surprises you? China is the land of the knock-off copy. The only surprising thing is that this didn't happen sooner.

Nope. I was "scammed" once into buy some counter fit minis (confrontation and some others)

I bought them dirt cheap from china via ebay.co.uk

Thought they were legit. They look legit, quality seems to be there with the real minis, but I learned about all the counterfeits.

I was sort of surprised in the efforts to make counterfeits of war game pieces. Watches, purses, clothing seems obvious. Didn't think wargame minis would be on the list.

I've seen a number of counterfeit side show collectible statues on ebay as well. Shame.

PMing you some ebay links in a moment.

You can judge for your self, I could be wrong, but feel as if they are counterfeits.

The Dave mini without a box looks like a recast it's the wrong colour yellow Dave is a pale yellow not an orangey yellow now a camera might do that but it's to far off IMO to be legit. Marvin also looks wrong the real mini is a much darker blue. Nick and Cholo are closer in colour but still look a little off. I 'd say if it doesn't have the card don't buy it.

Well, one things for sure, GG sure can't complain that they are loosing sales due to such figures

Edit: That said, while I do detest their approach to kickstarter exclusives I do begrudgingly respect them for keeping their promise to the backers.. so this news has still gotta suck for them.

It doesn't actually say in any of the season 1, TCM or PO rulebooks that you have to drop an active card equipped in hand, only that you must discard an equipment card if possible and the wound card replaces it. In the more detailed example of an attack in TCM pg 8 Raoul drops cookies when wounded instead of any weapons (but then Raoul starts with webbing which doesn't really help clarify anything).

You know, if they were reasonably priced, I'd be tempted. I've got no real qualms about buying recasts of things that aren't available - not that it's been an issue in the past. At those prices, though, you may as well just go with nicer alternative metal figures (for most characters) from Heresy, Hasslefree, 7TV, etc...

Yeah, $20 for a recast (with a full day left!) isn't cheap. No thanks.

I really don't think CMON will ever produce a knock-off of Jay and Silent Bob, they got their hand slapped by Miramax during the first Kickstarter for featuring both the Kill Bill bride 'Eva' and the Pulp Fiction 'Martin' as models and CMON were forced to change their overall designs after the Kickstarter. Miramax were the company that published both Pulp Fiction and the Kill Bill, and they were also responsible for the original Clerks movie and Jay and Silent Bob: Strike back. So i just can't see CMON touching them unless they want to potentially bring the hammer back down on themselves again.

How come other companies have not done the same?

Don't these models fall under the use of Parody and not an exact ripoff?

Not a lawyer so I don't know.

From what I understand they do come under parody / fair use but fighting Miramax in court would be a costly and time consuming affair. Much easier for GG just to slightly change the figures and avoid using any Miramax owned characters in the future.

the new app is now available for apple devices android should follow next week.

Min requirements ipad 2+, iphone 5+, 5th gen ipod

http://zombicide.com/en/blog-zombicide-companion-app-2-release-note

Season 1 core game and the the characters from season 2 with missing numbers are all free the rest is paid for that includes Season 1 promos. They are split into packs I think it's about $10 all in. S2 and TCM being more expensive than character packs.

Tried it on the iphone it's a bit buggy right now but it does work I think this was more designed for ipads/tablets.

Probably won't know that until the end of the week if at all, CMoN generally don't give out exact launch times as it gives them some wriggle room.
