One of the best threads on dakka!

not exactly... I painted my shop orange just because I thought it will look cool, inviting and warm... it just happens to work well with the photos as well... I posted some pictures of it on this blog- I think it's about middle/ bottom bit of page 7.... oh and I am using the space wolves codex for these guys.

mayajid, the titan is a fitting massive death machine to support the rest of the Metal Beastmen.

Awesome army - great conversions and painting.

And extra marks for the presentation! Loved the Metal Beastmen advertisment you put together at the 'end' of the project... we knew you wouldn't stay away though!

Thanks for keeping the hobby fresh and exciting!

I’ve been playing around with a lot new lists and combinations (1750pts) and came up with some really fun stuff to do… as result I need to greatly expand my VERY limited arsenal of tanks (2 rhino and 2 speeders…) never really want or needed tanks till now….oh well…..

Razor(gor) backs

Essentially it’s the same set up as my rhino but 6 of them-

I am soooo glad I did this blog now more than ever, because I completely forgot what parts I used and what goes where on the rhino that I originally did ages ago…. So if any one is planning to do a heavily converted army- I highly recommend that they keep a Painting blog or an army diary of some sort somewhere- just incase you need to go back and do another something. It acts as a reasonably assembly instructions.

I will be using twin linked assault cannons on all of them- I just love the look of assault cannons (any type of multi- barreled Gatling/ Vulcan like guns). And in game- it’s mid-range but can take on most things including flyers…. Love them….

Even though I never really have any use for a land raider with my style of playing- I always want to make one for the metal beast. The thing is- I really don’t know what to do with it- I wanted a huge chariot pulled by some thing but a land raider opens from the front so that sort of clashes with each other…. Went thru many ideas, like having a stone horn from ogres and all the other creatures, and forming a sort of flight launcher deck on their front and sides and all that, but in the end I sort of came up with this-

The size is more or less the same as a land raider but just slightly taller…

Still not sure what kind of thing will be pulling this yet- but I’m probably going with this type of thing on both sides.

Not sure yet- still working on it…… to be continued

You should place the beasts that will pull the land raider on each side of the drop pod part, so you will keep an free place up front for the front hatch.
Anyway good work as always

Saw this in the Victoria news thread, i immediately thought of your project

Just a cross post here as to what Victoria Miniatures and AdeptiCon have cooked up for 2013.

Beast-Captain Torgo: AdeptiCon 2013 Sci-fi Model

Torgo is one of a line of genetic experiments known as Broolians, the product of an insane experiment by the mad geneticists of the planet Broolia. The so-called Broolian Beastmen first saw service as mercenaries in the service of several stellar empires and have now fought in countless warzones across the Orion-Cygnus Spur.

Beast-Captain Torgo insists on taking the same risks as his beast-brothers, and so is ever to be found at the forefront of the battle. He wields the same flame thrower he as carried since his earliest days of service, unwilling to take up a weapon others might think more suitable to the commander a successful and feared mercenary force. In battle, Torgo is as ferocious and savage as all his kin, eschewing subtlety as soon as the bullets start flying and the charge is called. Few can stand up to such a charge, for the Broolians of Beast-Captain Torgo fight not for wealth, but for the sheer, savage joy that was seeded in their bestial hearts by the insane geneticists of the planet Broolia.

Direct from Victoria Miniatures, Beast-Captain Torgo will be found lurking the swag bags of the first 2000 preregistered attendees with an AdeptiCon 2013 Weekend Badge! Bring a leash!

That model is AWSOME!!!!! the background sound very familiar somehow- but I stil want one.... badly... if they are only doing this for the convention- my only hope is E-bay I guess ... hope the price will be cheap

about the thunderhawk thing- Im really not sure... may be a hybrid of both???? as right now it's only just a thought rattling around in my head looking for something to hook on to.... thanks for showing me the awsome beast dude by the way- I now have a mission....

So the other day I picked this up from the shop -

and this is what It looks like when it’s finished!!!!!!!

Metal beast pattern Land raider-

The size of it is more or less exactly the same as a normal space marine land raider… It is how ever just around an inch (ish) taller (not including the horns- but that don’t really count any ways….)- so line of sight wise it’s all good… more or less…..

As you all would have notice there are no guns on the land raider… At first I was going to put guns on the tank itself but when I did it sort of ruin the lines and over all shape of the vehicle, so I opted for a different option. I combine the idea of large beastmen servo skulls (I did previously for my tech priest) and the tau gun drones that follow tanks around…..
I really like the idea of having a vehicle just for transport purposes only, and some drone-like servo skulls floating around the vehicle defending it.

Servo skull with twin-linked assault cannon, accompanied by small sevo skulls with frag assault launcher (left), and a servo skull with twin-linked heavy bolter (Right)

Servo skulls with hurican bolters

Servo skulls with twin linked Lascannon

Servo skulls with Flame storm cannon

I also did some small sero skulls optional equipment for the land raider….

I designed it so that they simply clip onto the main hull of the vehicle.

So with those- I can make

The Phobos pattern

The crusader pattern

And the redeemer pattern

With that it’s ready to rock!!!!

Well, I guess I'll be getting one of those from the shop as well, because it looks about a hundred percent more awesome than the boring (Chaos) Space Marine LR!

Seriously, mate, unbelievable stuff! You should send these to GW: If any army ever deserved to be published in WD, it's this one!

Mind-boggingly awesome!

The pic of the box set actually had me heading to the GW site to look it up before it dawned on me that Beastmen aren't actually 40k...

Fantastic army, would love to see it in Armies on Parade.

Also like the 'real' photos.

Awesome work, thanks for keeping us entertained!

Thank you all for the comments!

If any one can help me on this it will be very much appreciated... What is the currency/ money in the 40k universe??? better yet what does it look like? I've been looking all over the place for this information but cant really find it any where... In necromunda- they use the standard sci fi "credits" (like is in card form???) and there are mentions of "Throne Gelt" or "Thrones" but no discription on what it looks like ... I know the imperium is so vast I doubt that there are one "type" of currency. I would love to know what eldar, orks, and all the other race use as well. any sort of description/ picture of them would be really cool.

The reason I ask is because I'm planning to do a Beastmen version of Leman Russ.... I figured the Primarch is sort of the pimp daddy of the chapter- so for metal beast mercenaries - the equivalent of that would be the PAY MASTER.... a guy in charge of all the cash coming in and paying the beastmen mercenaries when they come back from a job. I want to make him like the way they do it in Forgeworld- where the model is on a playing base and can also be put on a display base. In my mind- the pay master would be surrounded by piles or cases of cash, gold, credits, naked girls (beast girls?), with a cigar in his mouth, with either a spear or a sword on his back ( or both (haven't decided yet).... accompanying him would be two cyber boars (Freki & Geri).... I'm talking bad @$$- jabba the hut stylie....

but as I said I really don't know how to do the money/gold/cash/coin or what it actually is or looks like..... NEED HELP DESPERATELY PLEEASE.... If you know or know some one that may know- please let me know.....

Eldar i am fairly sure dont use money.
Orks use Teeth, that one is oblivious

Thrones is correct for the imperium, as far as what they look like, the change shape regularly and can be paper or coin or electronic, but all are the same value of what they represent.
