Is there anyone in-state with a decent place to play. I'm not picky on what game is popular at the locale, I just want to get some diversity in my competition rather than playing the same two guys a million times.

Which section of Jersey? I know north Jersey has lots of places to play. South Jersey has agw store I think. Here in central there is a couple stores where you can find some 40k, one is the game room in brick on Fridays

South jersey gw just shut down but the old guy who ran it is now running his own shop. If you can make it down to voorhees (exit 32 on 295), there's almost always something going on each weekend. I'm always there on weekends and there's no shortage of warmahordes/40k players. There's a 1000 point 40k tourney tomorrow. There was a 50 point warmahorde tourney today. Next weekend has a flea market Saturday followed by a 15 point warmahordes tournament (part of the slow grow league) Sunday.

Outside the Box Games if you need to know more... Might be too far away though.

That's a bit far for an FLGS, but I may end up going to college in that area so there's hope in the coming year or so

I am located in Long Branch, NJ. I have been trying to find a FLGS for the past year but to no avail. Let me know if you have any luck or are interested in some how meeting up for a game of 40k. I have a buddy I am currently trying to teach, but I think his interest is waning.

I am 20 min from redbank and would Definatly be interested in participating in a 40k group or club.

Phillipsburg, hmm is that out near Clinton? How far from new hope pa? U are probably 30-45 min from me.

We Definatly should find a central location and meet up and get something going.

Okay, so I called HobbyMasters. They said they have open gaming on Friday's from 4:30 to 7:30. I am thinking if we can get enough people together, we can possibly branch out a little more. The 4:30-7:30 is an open gaming slot, so you can play whatever you like. I am hoping we can get a good group together. They have some decent sized tables from what I saw last week.

I am gonna head down to the store in redbank probably today, just to check them out. I have also checked out "The Only Game In Town" in sommerville and I will be checking a few other stores out. Basically I want to compile a list of venues, the days they have open gaming and maybe we can organize some games so that no one has to drive more than 35 minutes to a venue. (I am situated about 35 min from 4 or 5 stores). I would also like to get a list of people who have their own tables. Maybe after a few games at local FLGS's we can start our own club and maybe attend some tournies together. Realistically (as a 30 year old gamer) what I am looking for is places (probably peoples houses) where we can get games in on the weekends, drink a few beers and not have to be bothered with the teenage scene that goes along with hobbyshop gaming.

+1

I have a modular table, but alas no room in my current apartment for it. So even if we can find a venue, I can provide the terrain for the table. I have a lot of terrain also left over from the hobby store that closed in the Atlantic Highlands. Let me know what you think of Hobby Masters. I stopped by on Friday to see what was going on. They had a few tables of misc hobbies, but they did have two tables upstairs for 40k. Seemed interesting enough, the individuals playing looked like they just started.

I will definitely second the teenage scene thing. I would much rather play with a more adult crowd and relax than the overly "odd" kids of today.

I'm seventeen. Well, this is awkward.
As it stands, I'm falling out of the 40k scene and into more Warmahordes and some Infinity. I'd be up for smaller pickup games of 40k if the opportunity arose on a day that I'm not working.

Well let me clarify that I am put off by the overly dick "kids." They seem to run some of the stores in the area. Although 40k isn't too popular around here for some reason.

Hey I don't know if this thread is still being monitored by any of you but, I live in central jersey too ( point pleasant) and have been looking to start playing 40k. They used to play in brick at the game room until it closed just recently. I bought all my models there and before I was done painting them all, they closed, so I haven't even been able to play.

I would definitely be interested in this if you guys are still trying to figure out the details.

I was at the Game Room store in Brick on Friday September 7. There were several people playing 40k, Warmachine, and Flames of War. Unless they closed on the 8th they should still be open. There is facebook group called Central Jersey Gamers (A group for Gamers across Monmouth and Ocean Counties to share game events and ideas. Whether it be miniature wargames, rpg's, or board games.). They primarily play at the Game Room Friday nights.

Oh nice! I dropped by there on multiple occasions during "regular" store hours, and all the lights were off and no one was there. I was a bit bummed about it. Good to know they are still open. Maybe they just changed their store hours. Thanks hawkeye for the info.

about 30 minutes north of Philly theres a store called Stomping grounds games and hobbies. Their hours are 1pm to whenever.. which is fantastic. (The store had about 25 people there at 12:30 when I left lastnight). They have 7 tables up at all times and theres a great 40k, fantasy, warmahordes player base.

I went over the HobbyMasters in Red Bank, that seems to be the closest location for me. They have a few tables on Fridays, but the open gaming hours suck. Has anyone checked out Jersey Shore Hobby Center in Brielle?

Not sure where Briele is, I will have to check that out.

Mad - I haven't been down to Redbank yet. Haven't actually gotten any 40k time in other than basement hobbying. I did find out however that the Game Room in Woodbridge mall has gaming on Friday nights and Saturday during day and evening. I will have to check that out soon as its only 15 min from my house. Unfortunately I am so busy with a 2 year old during the day that I am too exhausted to consider playing 40k. Everyone in my house has been sick for the past 2 weeks also, just passing things back and forth. My wife and I also have 5 weddings that we have to attend before the end of the year. It seems like there is always something.

My other lagging project is to build my own table. Then I can game whenever.

I am 99% sure the Brielle one is closed. I live right by where that store used to be and it had shut down a little less than a year ago I think. The entire store is completely empty now. They used to be directly on route 35 in Wall and then they moved over to Brielle just off the 35 bridge. Unless they recently re-opened it, I think it is a goner.

I did stop in at The Game Room in Brick today and was informed that they are indeed open. I must have stopped by there consecutively on Tuesdays, because apparently they are closed on that day only. Go figure. The owner told me that they have game night from 6 - 10 on Friday nights.

I'm down to play anywhere that people would be willing to help me get a few games under my belt. I have a decent sized green tide of orks waiting to be slaughtered.

No worries, being a teacher, my nights are filled with exhaustion during the week! I have a table myself, just looking for a hobby store to allow me to bring it in to use! I will check out the Game Room. I just wish we had a store in the Eatontown/Tinton Falls area.

I will have to see how far I am from the store in Brick. I am trying to avoid a long drive, so I will have to check that location and the one in Wood Bridge. If you ever want to get a quick game in, let me know. Red Bank is pretty empty and easy for some quick 40k games. I am pretty new to 6ht edition, so I am slowly learning all the new tid-bits seeing as I was a real 4/5th ed player.
