Not where I should be

Looking great, always nervous drilling and cutting up something you have spent hours working on. I am very interested to see this finished.

And I am also really inspired by talk of hammers, Vik. Ideas bouncing around my mind already.

yeah...that hammer idea is too good to be a mere pun...it has to be a model of some sort... i imagine some kind of oil rig mechanism...

Now that would look really cool. i just get the feel that you will have to time your move pretty good then.

In my head I got more of a trebuchet arrangement off the arms, with out flinging something, instead it hammers into the ground.

Lets see some rockit racks dude....get us back on track here...

ok, guys! so i think i've reached quite a milestone on this build now! the bunny-ears are done! and so is the barrel. in fact, the tank in whole is DONE!
now it's only a matter of building the rocket-ramp and finish this bad-ass build in time.

PS when I first read this I thought, "Why a Rock Tramp?" Now I get it you are going to have Brian Johnson Stood on the front, screaming..."Thunder!!"

Now where's the fun in that? i agree that a trebuchet arrengement would look cool. but then you would have to reload after every "BAM!"
while the oil rig arrengement would go like "BAM! BAM! BAM! BAM!"

i've encountered a problem guys.. quite a big one actually.. i need 16 hunter-killer missiles for this baby.
and i only have 5.. and there basically NON of the bitz-sellers that has any in stock.

but i will continue to build and see if i can come up with something else.. the worst case scenario would be that i had to build 11 hunter-killers myself.

Same here as cam. I dunno the bit by name but a reference pic I probably be able to help you with... Besides...scratchbuilding them is no option?

Made in se
Storm Trooper with Maglight

Ofc! these are the ones i'm looking for!

i don't need the mount, just the missile.

and vik, i didn't say it was no option. i just said that it would be a last resort, since it would be pretty time-consuming to create 11 misiles from scratch.
and i really don't have that time.

Now finally it starts to feel like i'm getting somewhere!

this is the first glimpse of what it will look like!

but witch direction do you think i should go with? it's a length difference of the rack.
personally i like the second one.

any C&C is most welcome!

some more angles of the second version.

And I am afraid I am with Vik, it looks great but not 100% sure about the size of the rack.

Makes it look like it needs more hydraulic arms as the one sticking way out front seems less practiceable. Look up WW-II Caliope as that was a rocket launcher on a tank

Like

The assembly of the arm to the main cannon barrel allowed them to raise the launchers however they liked. They used tubes, but Katyusha style rails could also work as that is what you are shooting for here. I hope this helps you DiDDe

Thanks guys, i appreciate the criticism.

i must admit that when i look at the ramp now it does look a bit long.. so i think i'm gonna cut away a centimeter or 2. however, i am basing it on the katuysha after all.
and hopefully since the Hunter-killers are some length themselves i think that when they are mounted the ramp will look abit shorter.
and while i'm using hunter-killer missiles i don't really see them as that. i see them as "stupid rockets" if you know what i mean.
like it's just a regular rocket with a warhead and without any guiding-systems what so ever exept the fins and the ramp, witch in this case helps it get a straight course.
and therefore i'm making it so long.

also, you guys do realize that i'm making a mix of the sherman calliope and a katyusha right?
so i will connect the ramp to the gunbarrel so that it can elivate.

and for those of you who don't know what a katuysha is. here's a reference pic.

hey didde...had a shocking revelating moment... i don´t own any hunter killer missles at all... i didn´t realize the fins on the bit you showed... i mistook them as the rockets of the HW teams of the bazookas...sorry mate! but i found shorter ones... maybe these could be of some use for you nevertheless?

The shorter ones are very Soviet AT missile looking, like the Sagger missiles.

Hence why I mounted my stubby HK missiles on the barrels of tanks and chimeras

So yeah, Katyusha/Caliope fusion is what I was thinking of when I saw the concept DiDDe,
