I would be very interested to see if the infamous Harlie star or Nob biker deathstars can hold up to this in assault.
Don't forget to add the Chronometron. I think they add so much to a deathstar for the Necrons.
Yes this list with a Chronometron is very hard to kill.

Don't forget phase shifters for everyone! Mega-expensive, but then it gives them a chance against thunderhammers and more importantly, AP1/2 shooting.

And at that point you've just spent 950 or so points for your (non scoring, 10 or so wound pool) deathstar.
Not that such a unit won't absolutely obliterate just about anything? But at just shy of 1000 points for a single unit, it had very well better...

No one ever said that unit was broken.
It's just ridiculous.....
....ridiculously stupid, I meant.

Flyerspam is fine.
in fact...
The BGB should have come with a USR for flyers
"Demoralizing Victory":
Every time your opponent whines about not being able to hit/the speed of/the armament of/the cheese capacity of/not knowing the rules of Any Flying unit, the controlling player gets a Victory Point.
God would that shut up the masses.

Fliers are definitely scary when fielded en masse - a fortification with quad gun or Icarus lascannon definitely works wonders. My aegis defence line with quad gun won me a game recently, so definitely worth the points.

the worst flyer list I've played against was 3 NS, 3DS necron list. And honestly while yes it's frustrating, it's absolutely not unbeatable. I have 0 dedicated anti air. What I use is Denial of target tactics, and not letting my opponent fudge even 1 rule on use of flyers. Know your rules, and how to use it to your advantage and your all set. 18" minimum and only 90degrees turn then straight flying is quite the bubble to be able to manouvre in and avoid shots from the flyers. I've won 2/4 games against flyer spam lists.
What annoys me more is the LOS shenanigans in squads like wolf guard, paladins, and to a much lesser degree nob

I'd love to see this Elysian list!
Also I thought those IA rules were not the sort of thing you would be forced to play all the time.

Couple of things... thanks for starting this thread. It was a great read and discussion.
I play Tyranids and have so since the end of 4th edition Codex. 6th has brought back several units that were considered by many to be totally unreliable in 5th:
Carnifex with Dual TL Devourers in a Pod
Harpy (better for fun games, but still effective distraction unit and multi assault support unit) Mobile Str 6 AP4 36" Large Blast Pinning.
Tyranid Warriors (great outflanking scoring unit if lead by Prime)
Flyrant w/ TL Devs, LW&BS - (mobile synapse, support unit, general badass)
Plus it's created the "must have" - Tervifex (Crushing Claws, Adrenal Glands, Toxin Sacs & Iron arm/warp speed) bringing... +2 (smash) +1 (Assault) + D3 (CC) + D3 (Warp Speed) Str 10 Attacks. That's potentially 9 but averaging 7 Str. 10 Attacks on a T6 MC, and if a friendly Broodlord, Tervigon or Zoanthrope cast Endurance or Catalyst on him it's a nasty surprise for a Paladin Unit.
More than ever, running a balanced list is vital to winning consistently. Sure you could spam 10 Tervigons and completely dominate the board control but you could be easily countered by 4 Rune Priests & JOTWW.
On top of that, there is a fun fact that some might not know. As you know, the Mycetic Spore is a Monstrous Creature not a vehicle. Now the Tyranid Codex states that it can never score... however, it is a Denial Unit at least until it gets FAQ'd. Therefore when you drop them all over the board you are forcing your opponent to react. I have also had them on numerous occasions get that lucky shot on a flyer and strip a hull point off wrecking the vehicle.
It's the best way to get that Devilfex just where you need him!
Think about in "Big Guns Never Tire" - You get a Denial Unit with 6 Str 6 shots (bs2) and a Scoring Unit with 4 Str 10 AP2 attacks, and with 12 TL Str 6 shots all for 240 points.

2 Doom scythes on them so 4 str 10 AP 1 shots on each and a possible 24 str 7 AP - and 8 str 5 ap - shots. Deathray auto hits. although very unlikely to get 24 and 8 shots.
