Well I said I'd order some of the new Female resistance Fighters and I did

Ordered 7.30 pm 6th August
Delivered 9.30 am 8th August

Very good customer service there

The figures are excellent 3 part castings with no visible mould lines at all

A separate heads featuring a peg & socket design to aid gluing, the body and the weapon with the hands cast onto it. Again the wrists have sockets to aid gluing without needing to pin

The women are on the realistic (delicate) side of thingz size wise (think Infinity or Sedition Wars) rather than being heroic in scale (GW Imperial Guard), something to concider of you plan to try and use the heads elsewhere.

Highly recommended

What's wrong with GW female heads? They're excellent sculpts.

Note that the wyches are great models but still very masculine faced.

GW does not adequately reflect the reality of all women being super models. BAD SCULPTING!

Yeah, I have nothing to justify to you, now do I have any interest in keeping the argument running.

As for my "defence" of GW. I don't personally care why you or anyone else likes or dislikes any particular range of figures, sculptor, or other artistic work of any kind. You're entirely welcome to dislike GW, their overall style (incredibly diverse that it is), the way they run their company (I'm not a fan), finecast or anything else. I just find the particular points you made to be... shall we say, incredibly broad, and therefore way too long of a bow to draw, and the manner that you did so simply to be "piling on" no useful reason than to be a cool kid on the internets. There's a lot of that about.

I'll bow out of the argument simply by stating that while I think you're completely wrong on all three points that you made, I'll agree to disagree.

Hopefully we can both agree that these figures are nice ones, and leave it at that.

I would point out that those Wyches aren't just masculine, they are actually mono-gendered heads. That is, there are no different heads to use with the female heads... also no different legs to use with female torsos. GW "female sculpts" consist of boob plates because that's literally the only thing that makes the miniature a female. Legs, arms and head are all from the same pool. So of course GW's female sculpts end up looking "man-ish".

How this answers for the terrible character sculpts (that is, sculpts that have no interchangeable parts), I have no idea. Other then their "heroic scale" has the same effect on realistic females as it does on realistic males (that is, it obliterates the realistic part).

On topic: Andrew (or anyone), for people in the US that would be interested in ordering these grand ladies, what is the best course of action? Are there any US based retailers, or is it a strictly order from you affair?

For the time being, Statuesque minis are only available direct from me. I've had lots of orders from the US and around the world with no issues so far. For the US the shipping is a flat rate of £3.50 regardless of how many figures your order. I've got to say, since launching Statuesque at the end of 2010, I've been very impressed with the world postal services!

Buzz if you want I can time shipping to the US and give you a PM once I get my girls. I expect it'll be pretty prompt from the rest of the thread's good comments and my previous experiences getting things shipped in from the UK

I get a lot of small orders of minis from the UK. Usually takes about 5-10 days to Australia, but very occasionally 3 weeks. About a week is the most common amount of time though, by far.

I've added these (and the character models) to the big list. Any ETA on more in the series?

I don't know if it is just me but your store is currently not loading (either from the link on your site or in the first post) :(

It may just be you, as it seems to be working ok for me 10.30am UK, 23rd Sept

(but It did trigger my popup blocker, so try right clicking & select open in a new tab or window)

Hmmm... I could get on using the link to the resistance fighters but then clicking on any of the store links just gets me stuck on a blank page waiting for googleads to load (which is the same problem I had earlier)...

So yeah, I can get onto maybe 2 pages of the store (the resistance fighters link and one of the arm packs links in the first post) but the rest are not loading.

Edit: Ok, none of the pages I could get onto are working now. It seems that the initial store page loads then immediately kicks me off and tries to load wysiwyg://395/statuesqueminiatures.shop033.com/c/4433737/1/resistance-fighter-accessories.html but just sits there trying to load googleads

I've just checked every page link, logged in, and added stuff to my cart, and gone to checkout but not actually bought

so as far as I can see it all works

here's a direct link to one of his SF models

http://statuesqueminiatures.shop033.com/p/7319198/sm001-havana-gray.html

does that work for you ?

I'm using ie9, but it also works with my other browsers, chrome and firefox 11

try an alternate browser (or a PC if you're trying via a phone at the moment), or try clearing all cookies/cache etc

If none of that works you could try contact/ordering via email

Hmmm, don't know what's going on there. I'll contact the support people for the webstore and see what they say. Sorry about the problems anyway! If you're still having problems then of course you can contact me at statuesquemini@gmail.com, let me know what you're after and I can forward you a Paypal invoice.

Regards,

Andrew Rae

Weird; I can view it on IE 9 but can't see it on FF3.6.2; it is still loading the first page then quickly loading the wysiwyg page

Thanks for your help guys.

I think that's why I gave up on the superficially more user friendly Firefox

I kept finding sites that it just didn't like, or only worked with sometimes

but glad you're able to access the site

Hi folks,

Here's wee preview of two new Resistance Fighter Accessory sprues that will be available soon: Gasmask Heads and another Weapon Sprue including a grenade launcher, a sniper rifle and a light machine gun.

There's another weapon sprue and a girl with a big gun coming too!

A little pricey, but a nice little line, developing there....

Spiral I now have seven minis from the Statuesque line. Four resistance fighters backing up a complete S.O.E kill team. They're worth every penny.

I just wish they weren't so far down in my paint list... I want to get to work! But so many SoB to get through first

Oh, definitely considering them, just harder for me to justify without a game (rather, it's hard for me to paint minis w/o a game, so I've learned to be cautious about buying pretty chunks of metal that sit around for years...)

I use my girls for my Infinity army, they fit in quite nicely! (photos of the comparison in my gallery)

Ta folks.

Just took some photos of the third accessory sprue to be going on sale. These guns were something of a whim, just for fun. Obviously I had to take some artistic licence with the design of the guns in order for them to fit the figures, but I think they'd make nice options for some weird war or anachronistic pulp action!

Agreed, those rather old-timey looking SMG's will make for a perfect fit into my games of 7TV!
