Did a search in this forum didnt find anything.
Looking to transfer over some of my GW and p3 paints to dropper bottles. I have purchased 2 different kinds off ebay only to have the neck split or the dropper tip split.
Where can i get good replacement dropper bottles (must ship to Canada).

I haven't bought them, but they sell them at various places.
Not droppers (although they can be found in most craftstores) http://www.ultrabattles.nl//product_info.php?cPath=48_93&products_id=236&osCsid=9729a8014e656ea9ecda19a6573addfc

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers. |

Would be interested in any places that people know that ship international as well, I've been looking for decent 17-22ml bottles everywhere and can't find anything!

Problem solved
These are exactly what I use to transfer P3 and GW paints into. Love them. My entire paint collection is now in droppers.

Have looked on the US Plastics site but can't see any information re: if they ship international. In my experience if a US site doesn't specifically state they ship overseas, the answer is usually no. If someone can confirm they have placed an order and received it international though that would be awesome, those bottles look exactly like what I have been searching for.

They are the largest plastics supplier in the US, so I'd imagine they ship int'l.

Craft stores like Michael's sell flip-top dropper bottles in 2 oz size, I think it's 6 for $2 in the US. They are the same size as the cheap craft paint acrylics.
A bigger than the 22ml droppers, but if that doesn't bother you, they are pretty easy to find.

15ml is the standard size for hobby paints. 2oz bottles are much too big for the paints most of us use.

Can't confirm international shipping, but I do know of 1 way to find out:
https://www.usplastic.com/content/contact.aspx
I can safely assume they do, because along the right side of the contact website, their is a contact email address marked as "International Order Support."
Send 'em a message, and see what you can get done. I haven't seen droppers any cheaper anywhere else on the web yet.

I realize. I use them for the "Les's Awesome Washes" I mix up from scratch and to keep my water in for thinning, and just deal with GW's horrible pot design.

on the subject of transferring paint to different bottles, is there any trick to doing that? I always feel like I'm losing a lot of paint (e.g, the stuff coating the walls of the old pot). edit: and now that I look at the description for the usplastics bottles more closely, it says "Bottles come with a push in drop dispenser ...". is that the kind of tip where you have to press it onto a hard surface to get paint to come out? 'cause that sounds messy when you're trying to add another drop of paint to the mix on your palette...

The tip is separate.
So you fill the bottle, then push the tip in the bottle. Friction holds it all together.

From their T&C
International Use
By choosing to access the Site from any location other than the United States, you accept full responsibility for compliance with all local laws that are applicable. USP makes no representation that materials on the Site are appropriate or available for use in locations outside the United States, and accessing them from territories where their contents are illegal is prohibited. If you are purchasing products for export, you are responsible for the necessary export documentation before shipment is made to a foreign country.
So they say that you can ship stuff internationally, but it doesn't state they will.

Well I placed an order for the dropper bottles through US Plastics. They don't inform you of shipping charges before they send it though, so I hope I'm not in for a shock. Will update once they arrive.

I just want to say that for companies like that, that is the norm. They won't inform you until they ship it. Not sure on US plastic (if we order from them, we are getting it on a truck, not by UPS or something), but they should ship it the cheapest method of something they normally us, like perhaps DHL. Sadly I would expect to get railed with shipping though, as most of those bigger places don't always do the most checking.

I got the quote back today. The cost of 75 dropper bottles was $24. The shipping to Australia was either:
$25 for First class.
$35 for Priority.
I looked into it and it seems both have the same delivery speed, however Priority gives you options for insurance and tracking.
I went with First Class as I don't really care when they turn up as my wife is at home so no need for tracking.
For shipping to AU that is actually a good price, I was pleasantly surprised.
Now I'm really looking forward to them showing up, will just have the difficult part of moving the paint to the new containers to do.

One other thing to look at is you want to get some clear glass or metal beads for each dropper your going to use. It works as an agitator for when you shake up your paint. Make sure it's a bit bigger than the nozzle though.

be careful with metal beads. I've had ball bearings corrode after I've dropped them into paint pots. I can't tell if it's actually messed with the paint at all, but there's a big rust mark in the bottom of a couple pots now. I'd stick with glass or ceramic beads from a bead store rather than metal.
