Subject: (DreamForge-Games)-We are going plastic! (Kickstart is now live!)
Seriously, though, if they had been a tad smaller... I want my humans to be smaller than Space Marines, and I know I'm the only one that'll notice on the tabletop...
They are a tad smaller, 1mm shorter than the metal figs and the base is 1mm thinner than a GW base. This makes them the equivalent to a 28mm fig in height but leaves enough bulk so not to look emaciated next to most figs. I also thickened them up ever so slightly. I am not saying they are "heroic" scale, just that they should look great as long as you’re not mix and matching with the space dwarves in the same force
But will there be female heads in the sprues? I refuse to think all gothic/grimdark futures do not use 50% of the population in its fighting forces. This is the one thing that makes me want to invest in Defiance rather than Eisenkern right now. Although I did check my army list, and I am now looking for stormtroopers... the Eisenkern with a few stretch goals might look great.
Female heads, please? Or is some part of the fluff I am not familiar with makes this logical?

Sorry, no female heads... No fluff reason, I just went with the norm when I sculpted them.

Just saw the customer video of the 5.5" Crusader. Seeing it in a video painted up makes a HUGE difference in determining quality, and it's the resin one. I have super high hopes for this kickstarter =) (Less than 5k to go!)

Eh, the body shape is wrong for it anyway. But if one of your future releases is an all-female squad for some faction or another, that would get me to look at more than just your mechanical units.

I know people are really wanting the smaller version, but I am after the mortis. These being released now are breaking me of GW. With everything packed up right now, I don't have that desire to complete my marine chapter. Now if only I could sell all that off and invest it into dreamforge.
Anyone interested in a full terminator first company, three full battle companies and enough bits to make 2-3 more with tanks and all let me know.

I noticed that no matter what is being built, sprues are almost always trapezoid shaped straight pieces, would it be horrifyingly more expensive to put small designs and such on them to make them usable as scenery additions and such?

Happens with all of them. I think at around $35,000 on the Red Box kickstarter Tre said that we'd be at $45,000 if everyone had pledged up until then had stayed in at their initial pledge level.

Hmmm not sure what you are seeing? When I look at the project dashboard on my end I have not had any drops or downward pledged adjustments for 16 hours.

There's a manufacturer that does this with their metal sprues, putting sculpted rubble detail on them so you can cut them up and put them on bases. I suggested something similar to Defiance Games, suggesting that they could modify the tabs from their sprueless plastic so they're usable as Jersey barriers.

hmm, to do that would take additional tooling time; those things are cnc'ed which takes quite a bit more time for a complex design as opposed to a simple trapezoid.
it wouldn't make a difference in casting once the tooling is done.
of course it doesn't matter for tooling a rubber mold either; those are just cast around whatever original you want to replicate.

I could see Jersey barriers but anything with undercuts would be out. They also need to consider the flow of plastic, the overall shot size and if these additions would cause lower cycle time due to cooling issues.

Trying to decide what to pledge for right now! Probably 20/40 troopers because they are too cool to pass up! Hopefully I can pick up a heavy weapon squad and a 15mm leviathan if we reach those goals as well. Might even be interested in some of the heavy armoured guys if they show up too.
I am liking the accessory pack as well, some freebies always make me happy! Am I right in reading that it comes with three cargo mules?

Yep three mules! Use them for troops or the three Support Weapons kit.
