Say what you will about Juan Castillo as a DC.... He was one hell of a O-line guy. He even had a decent line while dealing with the Andrews Sisters (Shawn & Stacy) and their BS.
My advice for Reid and Lurie.... Apologise to Juan, make him o-line coach, re retire Mudd, (who may be senile anyway), and give him the same pay he got as the DC.

I'm not an Eagles fan, but I live in the area and I'm surrounded by Eagles talk. Here's my $0.02.
The Eagles hired two very unorthodox line coaches. Firing Mudd now would probably have little upside as the o-linemen would then have to unlearn Mudd's techniques and relearn conventional line play at midseason. Which might work, but at this point Reid is good as gone and nothing's going to save the season. Besides, the issue on the o-line is more that they've had tons of injuries and too many draft picks like Watkins who can't play.
On the other side of the ball, it's just a comedy of errors by management. Moving an OL coach to DC was laughable from the start, and doomed to failure. If this was HS ball, fine. But the NFL has the best coaches in the world...I have to think defensive coaches across the league found it incredibly insulting for Reid to even think that an OL coach could do their job.
But let's set that aside and consider this. The Eagles hired an unorthodox DL coach who has his ends play 9-technique basically every down, THEN hired a DC and forced him to have to adapt his defense to something that radical. That's almost as bizarre as hiring the OL coach to be a DC.

Philly has always had injury issues with the O-line.. the worst was the situation created by the above mentioned Andrews Sisters. Shawn sat on the bench as a starter due to a phantom back problem, Stacy was benched in favor of Max Jean-Gilles because he sucked at pass blocking. and then replaced MJG when he got hurt. but the line always held no matter who was in there.
Castillo was the O-line coach when Vick had his big year replacing Kolb... the difference between then and now is the O-line coach.
Mudd seems, at time, to be confused. He doesn't make adjustments for different defenses. That confusion shows in the O-line play. Guys don't seem to know just where they are supposed to be or go on anything but basic plays.

Houston is playing Chicago in Chicago this weekend. Our Offense has been OK the last couple of weeks but not great, and the Bear's Defense has been on fire. It might be a nail biter. Go Texans!

Go Texans!
Go Bears,
But this game will be one of the best in the season, barring play-offs
I've enjoyed it when I've seen the Texans play (Vs. Baltimore) and the Bears have kept to 7-1
And i made some money off Luck last night

Go Texans! What a sloppy first half. 6 turn overs. Cutler getting hurt sucked for the Bears, as their back-up couldn't deliver. The Houston Offense struggled against a swarming bears defense, but Houston's Defense held their own. I wouldn't want to play Chicago again. Next week, Jacksonville! Then, a noon Thanksgiving game. Also, the Saints punched Atlanta in the mouth in Atlanta! Suck it, you damn dirty birds!

Campbell was terrible for the Bears
1st&10 checks down to forte for -3 Yards when he still had receiver options
The O-Line then had a holding penalty
2nd&23 Short pass to Marshall for 9 Yards
3&16 Another short pass for 8 Yards
4th&8 Throw to Forte who was covered by 4 Texans
Game Over
At least the Bears held the Texans to 13 points
I was pleasantly surprised by Folles performance at least what I saw of it

Jason Campbell was AWFUL in that game. But to be fair his receivers dropped a few makeable(not easy but make able) catches. Houston really seems to have the mojo this year.
And look out for the saints, I don't think they'll make the playoffs but they are absolutely gonna play spoiler for some teams.

Agreed.
Their defense is terrible, but they can run up 35 points on anyone. I wouldn't want to play them in December.

So what's the deal with Eli and the giants? I think they'll snap out of this but they are playing like crap and I wonder if that offense will be good enough. I know they've made their runs to the SB as higher seeds and they're a battle tested team but any giants fan have to be worried that now is the time they decide to go into a funk.

I watched them yesterday and was not impressed at all. They completely gave up running the ball in the second half, and Eli looked rushed and even panicky at times. They actually switched off of the Giants game in the 4th quarter to show the last 4 minutes of the Saints game, which was much better.

Unfortunately, I live in a region of the country currently, where the Saints game was the one that started... It was either that, or watching Miami.

Is anyone else severely disappointed that the only "traditional" thanksgiving day game this year is Washington and Dallas??
I mean, I know Detroit is playing, but they are not playing Chicago OR Green Bay.
I wish the NFL would go the way of the NHL :( Shenanigans!

well I've never cared about thanksgiving before so it should be good fun at the very least.
Detroit will most likely by swept aside by the Texans
The Cowboys and Skins will most likely go to OT in a scrappy encounter
NE will destroy the Jets (Unless Tebow starts when he leads a 4th quarter comeback to lose by an OT FG )
EDIT: Also been thinking about the divisions again

NFC

I think this game will be scrappy, but not overall, very close... I think the skins win by a fair margin (that is to say, it will not be a blowout, but it won't be won by a single field goal, or single touchdown point differential)

I have a feeling the jets game is gonna be closer than a pats fan would want. The Houston game could be close as well on a short week. That's the thing about Thursday games. Both teams are at such a disadvantage. I'm pumped my team is playing Thursday so I cant complain this year . And they have Detroit, Dallas, and Washington who else should be playing besides the bears or Green Bay, maybe the giants? But pats vs anybody, Dallas v Washington, and Detroit vs Houston were all pretty good games at the beginning of the season not so much now..

I live in Philadelphia and am a die hard Eagles fan but I will say I think your being generous in giving the Eagles 5 wins this year. I honestly think they will struggle to win a single game at this point with the woes of the O-Line and now a Rookie QB to boot. Atg best they are a 4-12 team.

Traditionally, there used to only be two games: Dallas and Washington, and Detroit playing either GB or Chicago (though, I think it was mostly GB)
