The DA codex will bound to have some kind of massacred Sisters of Battle in it, like in the Grey Knight codex 'Khornate Knights' or 5th edition rule-book if it is being written by Ward.

What's your beef? Kelly's Space Wolves slaughtered Sister's 2 years for the Grey Knight Codex. And at least Grey Knights had a reason of sorts .. ya know .. fighting Daemons.

Kelly had the Sisters butchered just for .. dunno .. cause he thinks it fits the queer pubescent-Marines-theme he forced on the Wolves I guess.

No beef, I just feel the fluff has gotten really silly recently. What I don't get with the Grey knights, is I thought they are supposed to be daemon-proof already, I mean they are Daemon-Hunters. After all, the codex is stating that their faith is strong enough to protect them from any kind of daemonic corruption. Also why do they take the Daemon sword for themselves? I thought they hate anything chaotic.

I bet the DA codex will have equally similar idiotic, fanboy-esque fluff. Maybe the Dark Angels and Dark Eldar become bros to defeat a tyranid hive-fleet and tie up Sisters of Battle to use as live bait. Also Azrael, Supreme Grand Master could strangle a Hierophant bio titan with his bare hands whilst kicking a Hive Tyrant to death and screaming "FOR DA EMPRAH!"

The fluff has always been really silly. Everything in 40k is stupidly silly. It's one of the most endearing things about it.

The "dark secret" of the Dark Angels was that they were in the closet before they introduced the Horus Heresy and The Fallen. Everything can change whenever; all we can do is hope the new stuff is solid.

The problem didn't even stop there. The sisters are not nearly as resistant to demonic corruption. I mean, it doesn't happen often, but it does happen, ya know? So the GK show up and see a covent of Sisters who are totally unaffected by the swirling demonic presence around them. Wouldn't this indicate that the demonic presence wasn't really THAT BAD if the sisters were fine? All it did was either make the GK look more insane than a sack of weasels rolling in gunpowder or make Matt Ward look like he was writing with his pants off, again.

That said, fluff aside, you can at least expect the DA codex to be viable for a long time. Also, you can assume that there will be some seriously awkward passages in the fluff.

Can we take the fluff conversation somewhere else, please?

I'm not particularly pleased by how the Sisters have been treated in the fluff lately, either. No official codex support other than a White Dwarf which is no longer in print is bad enough, but they keep getting killed by Space Marines, and there's pretty much no consequence for it in every single case, it's just something that happens and gets shrugged off. There's the infamous example from the Grey Knights book where they nonsensically slaughter them and bathe in their blood despite already having all sorts of wards etched into their armor and bodies and hardcore mental training to resist corruption in the first place...in Blood Angels before that there's a case of the Flesh Tearers going berserk and slaughtering a bunch of Sisters in their rage, and I didn't even know about the one in the Space Wolves codex.

At this rate I'm morbidly curious how many Sisters the Dark Angels will wantonly murder in their new book, because statistics show that it will happen. I'm starting to wonder if it isn't like some kind of misogynistic joke in the design studio or something..."lol, oh those Sisters, always getting indiscriminately murdered by their armored male superiors in comical ways...woo..." I mean I'm not exactly a feminist or anything and even I'm bothered by it.

This reminds me of all the necron players whining that Ward had killed their army's background, when they hadn't much of one to begin with.
40k's fluff is over-the-top, mansauce sci-fi. It isn't always serious, but it is almost always grim. Sometimes people interpret things differently than most, and sometimes it is hard to change their mind.
In the new necron codex, there is a cameo appearance by a tomb world that appears quite similar to the old necrons. Players were too butt-hurt over the fact that they had more options to notice.
And the whole grey knight kornate knight thing?
People argue that grey knights are supposed to be incorruptible. But how are the supposed to be incorruptible? The book doesnt mention a lot on the subject. Safe to say they perform rituals, use holy talismans and relics, and sacred warding words. Killing the sisters could be anothet such ritual....
Of course nobody stops to think about these things.

And yeah, the Dark Angels were homosexual.

I mean, I think we all love to throw rocks at Matt Ward over the little things, but the truth is I don't think anyone that plays one of the armies he's had a hand in shaping can say they are worse off. However, GW does seem to really hate the Sisters and continually lets Matt Ward throw grenades in their crib.

If they got a plastic release, i'd buy an army instantly.
But they just aren't supported by gamesworkshop at all.
Back on topic, if the Dark Angel sternguard are these pistolero guys, that would be pretty sweet. Give them options for plasma, flamer and melta pistols.....
But what fluff reason would they have for using pistols?

I may have to paint up some Grey Knights covered in blood and one with a firey khorne daemon weapon now and pick up the Chaos Grey Knight codex. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD EMPRAH!

Anyway, back on topic, has the release date been confirmed? Some people are saying December and others are saying Janruary.

December release isn't going to happen, releases are usually first saturday of the month I believe. Don't know when they'll release the DA wave (or even announce it for that matter) with the white dwarf being late this month

The rumors always said, that the DA codex would be announced in December, for a January release.

The past few years, the January release has been pushed back a week due to the holidays. My money is on pre-orders going up on Jan 5th with the release following on Jan 12th. So, happy b-day indeed to me!

And we shouldn't get any leaks until much later because WD is being released later due to "holidays", whatever those are.

They used to, but now they use daemonic artifacts and xeno tech with more zest than any sorcerer or heretek. After all, according to the GK codex, the difference between regular psychic powers and sorcery is merely perception, which implies the Emperor was the biggest idiot in the universe.
