The picture is bad ( never should have been released) so won't judge the mini on that but the pose is awful let's go skipping it's clearly the same sculptor as 88 as they still haven't worked out how to sculpt the glove properly

Oh dear oh dear

I do hope that picture is a wind up, as it looks nothing like the art (even taking into account it's a work in progress)

do hope mantic don't use the sculptor unless there is a huge improvement (especially as Remy's Dreadball stuff is so good)

Well I am pretty sure that green is heavily wip. The torso seems to be much further along than say, the hair or the glove.

May I ask were this WIP green came from?

apparently taken when there were visitors at mantic towers...

Zee background...

Some Corporate sponsors haven’t got easy access to bizarre aliens or giant robots to form unusual teams, and everyone wants something weird to draw in the crowds. Farbiketek scientists began experimenting with retraining cerebrally enhanced monkey clones mainly for their own amusement when a supply problem marooned them on Shebentor IV’s outer moon for over two years. By the time the rescue team arrived they found two teams of highly trained monkeys playing DreadBall and nothing more than a few bones of the original scientists. Not one to miss out on a potential profit, the commander of the rescue mission kept the teams intact and ran a league of his on on the way back to base. The rest, as they say, is history…

Like the Zee's armour. Different to the standard kit and a nod towards gladiator, I think. hope we get a. couple thrown into Striker!

I think this is going to squeeze past Sedition Wars.

Do you know this guy? Why is that reassuring?

Even if the details were sharpened and improved, the pose is still ridiculous...

The Zee are very meh to me. If they lose the armor skirt, I would like them better. As it is, they are Greek monkeys in space. Not really a fan.

It's resuring to me because the picture looked so awful nobody would call it stunning

Now I don't know Lee, but I pretty sure he wouldn't have raved about anything that looked like that

As long as the figure is OK, i'm cool, and what he posted means I'm convinced it will hit at least that

(If it is Stunning in my eyes all the better)

If the Zees get the full face-mask with goggles, I'm going with them as my fourth. Currently though this is my buying roster. Leaves me at 280 out of 300 pledged unless I forgot a freebie somewhere in there. I might toss 5 bucks more in to get the plain field though if they don't add something I HAVE to have.

Unlikely at this point, although it would be nice if the last day went *really* nuts like Relic Knights did with $220k in 24 hours... really, really need that Penny Arcade plug around about now, they haven't mentioned anything about it, or the custom PA figure on their website.

It would be great if it managed to hit $700k and double the KoW total. All the coolest stretch goals seem to be pencilled in for post-$600k at the moment, with the Plague team and that big floating robot thing.

Looks like more prone counters will be the $585k goal, followed by the Zee MVP at $600k.

Yeah, perhaps I'm being overly optimistic.

Please let the Zee MVP be a PG Tips Chimp! Please!

Did anyone from Mantic tell them they were teaming up with them?

$220K won't actually be too hard in the next day, today should be close to $75K and tomorrow will be a similar amount even without any additional news type plugs. The big thing though is really making the last push outwards with the stuff on twitter, Facebook, Google+, other forums. Granted, if they did manage to get some love from a site like Wired, MTV Geek News or Penny Arcarde in the next day or so - well, all that much better.

Not that interested in it myself, although the stuff released would make for some good new armies and what once they get around to that.

As a pledger the more they take the better

but as a bystander I do wonder how the early peak the limited december Jack/Striker levels will effect the potential 'rush' later today & tomorrow

will it take off or not ? and on a Sunday, that is the question ?

I think the only thing that MIGHT be holding some back are those that are watching things like Bombshell Babes which is also ending soon(like 4 days after this). Wallet pain.

So after talking with the Artist of the Zees, about what he designed them to be.. (He was surprised to see Mantic made them Apes.) I've figured out my color scheme.

Sigh they are really taking their time with the completionist deals, the thing could very well have been past 600k if they had released them.

So some more pics turned up here.

I would say I finally get Wildcards pose, yes she is stunning from front that is her intended viewing pose, but looks bad from the side, logical since the pose is a swing pose.

The sculpt is a really early WIP, I personally would not display it, because it leads to false ideas, but I guess a "Look we are working on it" is kind of important in kickstarter too.

I'm not a big fan of the Zee's look, but since it's BOGO I'll buy a set just to have all the teams

Striker $150
8 BOGO TEAMS $100 ($12.50 for a 10 man team, combining striker and bogo, is a pretty good deal.)
MDF Board $25
Spare Nightshade $8
Spare Wayne Grethzki $8
Gabe Gabriel x2 $20
Cheer Leaders $15
Keepers $23
Season 2 Rule Book $10
Trophy $10
Bases $16

Little more than 300 left and then we're on to the last two announces stretches!

I'm betting that we're getting a FemCorp prone and a Robot prone for the next two. Hope we get the full set.

Well unless we get any more interesting goals past $600k I think I am set in at $253!

Pretty sure I already know this but am I right in thinking we can choose multiples of the same keepers as a pose to getting one of each? I have no need for the zzor or vermyn ones!

and in

Up next…

$585,000 – Season 2 Prone Markers

More characterful pieces by Heath Foley!

Dead easy this one - we’ll be able sculpt a prone marker for the female team and the robot team – and include them both free in Striker!

$600,000 – Riller, Zee MVP

Not all clones are made equal. As soon as Farbiketek engineers discovered model CXLI was defective, they spotted an opportunity to turn the malformed creature into a star in it's own right. Fitting him with a powered exo-suit led to Riller being excepted into the ranks of the Zees, and from there his infamy has grown. Of course, exo-suits are technically illegal in most forms of DreadBall, but every court-case levelled at Rilla has been unceremoniously thrown out. After all, anything a lawyer says must be true.

If we hit this goal we’ll be able to sculpt Rilla – the Zees MVP – and include him free into Striker!

We also feel that the Jack pledge hasn’t been feeling the love as of late, so we’ve also decided that Rilla will go into Jack as well as a special thank you for getting us this far!

Oo, by the way...

Completist Package Season 1 is done!

This package is designed to get you the maximum allocation of every player postion. For those of you who must have absolutely everything simply add $20 for this bundle and we'll sort out the rest!

Completist Package Number 2 to follow - and news on this gentleman?

You can choose any combination you like of the season 1 ones, and for the season 2, yes, you can get two females.

I was going to snark about him drawing not-Marvin the Martians – a short, silly character – with chimpanzee faces and being surprised when Mantic fluffs them as trained chimps, but you know what? They'd actually be funnier played as a straight copy, a race of comically-belligerent aliens perpetually unaware of how far their reach exceeds their grasp. Would help the Warpath universe seem more verisimultudinous too. Would earn a swift C&D from WB though.

Who is the concept artist? His work is like pencil porn.

Someone needs to tell Mantic that monkey ≠ ape before someone gets hurt.
