Well, I think I've figured out what all I want:
Striker! with Nameless Spawn Giant
Female+Nameless
Z'zor+Judwan
Season 3 Prones(waiting on art/sculpts to be sure)
Quadrant Zero Stadium
Alpha Simian(Going to give that bastard a cigar)
Barricade(unless they change him in a way I don't like, then it's a second Nameless Spawn)
Dozer
Season 2 Keepers(one each)
Season 1 Keepers(one each)
Season 3 Keepers(maybe one each, waiting on the art)
Cheerleaders(still pondering this one)
Dreadball full paint set(Really wishing they had a purple in there, but I'll try my hand at mixing)
2 double packs of Mantic Carry Cases(Assuming these are the Large ones. Picture looks like the small one though...)

I think I've realized what got me interested in this after really not being so at the start. It's all these unique, non-GW races and concepts they branched into. I think I like every race except the Zee better than the season 1 races.

So yeah, bring on seasons 2-3, and un-GW-charted territory

You could hunt down the Army Painter Warpaint Alien Purple separately if you want to use the same stuff.

Wow 15 hours later finally managed to make my payment! I don't think I've ever had so much trouble spending my own money. Halifax decided to stop the payment as suspected fraud (even though I've bought stuff from kickstarter before) so lots of waiting on the phone (and waiting for the fraud department to open) followed by a bunch of questions about myself and my account (how much did you spend in Sainsburys yesterday sir?) and finally I have made my payment! Roll on December.

So my girlfriend spent the past two weeks telling me not to buy-in to the Kickstarter, then, with three minutes to go or so, harped on me to buy it. Unfortunately, I missed the window by (literally) ten seconds. Oh well, hope that the game turns out to be really great for all the backers. Back to Blood Bowl for me.

^ Contact Mantic on their forums after it's over (or send them a message on the KS page) and they'll be able to sort you out with a pledge.

They did this for over a month after the KoW one ended, so you can still get in via a paypal pledge if you want.

I tell you what, Mantic surprised me with the quality of the post-season 1 teams. Some tremendous concept art, I only hope that the models come out as nice and the rules are varied enough for each race.

Barclaycard for me.
I got a call from them yesterday, and the $ payment seems to have triggered it.

Still, all sorted now.

Yeah, but they are still using Bob Naismith. So, I will go on record as nervously optimistic...

Bob Naismith is one of those sculptors that has a lot of stuff turn out "middle of the road" - not great but by no means awful either - with a few things turning out great or awful along the wayside. A bit like Mark Copplestone in a sense, though I am a fan of Copplestone's stuff overall.

In my opinion he barely ever makes middle of the road.

I know he can do great, because I have seen a few pieces of his that were. It seems he can rarely ever be bothered though.

IMO, Bob Naismith has improved massively.

You'll struggle to find a late 2011/ 2012 sculpt of his that is actually bad.

All this talk of one sculptor vs. another, and no pics?

For shame!

There's a bunch in the KoW kickstarter thread, his Obsidian Golems and Harpies are looking great.

He also sculpted (almost) the entire Mantic Orc and Undead ranges, which are the best-looking fantasy armies Mantic has. Goblins, too, and those are great.

IMO, the Dwarfs and Elves failed at the concept art stage more than the sculpting stage. Legs on the dwarfs are great, but the torso and above is where the design fails. The dwarfs have some dodgy sculpting in places (clearly visible cut-out squares of plasticard instead of rivets on the dwarf cannon, and a lot of the faces are just plain bad), but the elves are technically brilliant and loaded with fine detail. Goblins had fantastic concept art as the base, so the sculpts turned out really well.

He doesn't sculpt for sci-fi anyway, he's the go-to guy for fantasy, Remy does all the sci-fi (plus a few other random freelancers who do the stuff Remy can't schedule) so I don't know why this discussion isn't in the other thread that is filled with pics of his sculpts. :p

Hmm...not a fan of those Harpies or the Golem. I do like the look of the Ogre a lot.

I'm praying for quality equal to the Marauders and FF in the DB set.

I'm not sure if this puts your mind at ease or not, but the Ogres, the Marauders and FF are all Remy sculpts (see the WIPs on his blog).

Then I hope he is doing FemCorp and the Asterians!

Thanks for the link, too. I just love the FF models.

Most of those warpath minis look awful.

My biggest fear was for us to be drawn in with amazing minis and then due to the bulk of teams promised they bring in sub-standard sculptors to translate the concept art into models and we just get a bunch of trash.

So far I haven't seen a single mini outside stuff sculpted by Remy which I would buy. I hope he does a severe bulk of the Dreadball sculpts.

I hope they keep with the hero scale... that is what has made the Dreadball minis look so good so far.

It's important to remember that tastes and art direction matter a great deal, even with a single sculptor; without knowing which Warpath lines you mean, it's worth pointing out that Remy is also the sculptor for a large amount of the Veer-Myn line. Personally they are not really my cup-of-tea, but they may be blowing other people's hair back.

Even the best sculptor can't work miracles if the basic idea, or the direction the client wants to go, doesn't agree with the customer.

The problem is when the concept art is good, and the mini doesn't match the concept art or looks like a poor implementation of it. That is the biggest problem is not if I like that type of model personally, but if the model is a good translation of the quality concept art.

This is what fails and is the biggest threat to dreadball. If the sculpts of the current models are flawless recreations of the concept art. If we don;t get that with the yet-to-be-sculpted minis, Mantic will have lots of angry people. I feel like we are seeing that with the KoW Kickstarter as the minis appear.

I hope they turn out good because I bought the entire line sight-unseen. They can either deliver quality sculpts or ruin their rep forever. That green they released for the female MVP scared the crap out of me.

Sorry what? Which KoW minis do you mean?

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

I dunno. the Brock Riders looked great, the Palace Guard look like the metal ones (just fine), the Ogres look fantastic, and I like the lithe bare-boobed Harpies/Gargoyles combo kit, and the rockman Golems with swappable heads.
