Armour saves are not the same as cover saves or invulnerable saves each works under different circumstances according to the weapon used against it.

Your brothers right armour saves are not saving throws.

Armour saves, cover saves and invulnerable saves are all different forms of saves and should be treated as such so as not to confuse the situation.

I assume the argument started because of some weapon that says "no save of any kind is allowed"? If that is the case, then it means just that, you can't roll for your armour save, cover save or invulnerable save. Otherwise it'd specifically say "x save is ignored".

Excuse me...

No. Just no.

They're all saving throws. That's like...the whole concept behind a saving throw.

They're all saving throws.

As a discussion grows in length, the probability of a comparison to Matt Ward or Gray Knights approaches one.

You are claiming armour is a save but not a save?

Try not to contradict yourself in the same post. It doesn't help your point.

OP - Armour saves, cover saves and invulnerable saves are all saving throws. They are, however, different, which is why there's the distinction. Something can ignore one, or two, or all three. For example, a template weapon ignores cover saves, while allows armour saves (if its AP doesn't beat your armour). SoThey all have different properties - cover saves are against ranged weapons only and aren't affected by a weapons AP, while invulnerable saves are against every type of weapon and aren't affected by a weapons AP. Armour saves are the only save affected by a weapons AP, and again, work against all kinds of wounds as long as the weapons AP doesn't beat your armour.

Basically, your brother is an idiot.

thats how i understood it.. an armour save (form of saving throw against non ap weaponry etc) cover save (another form of saving throw to protect against ap weaponry etc) invuln save (the best save of all three)

and to answer Captain Antivas no my bro is not Hobojebus, he doesnt even post on here, says he researches stuff and that what he says is correct etc but doesnt actually research like me lol

i was playing a game last night a small battleforce recon game (back of book example mission) and we played it with 3 players but on a very small scale so the squads of men were made into individual guys (he says thats what the book said to do so..) anyway we were playing with a 100 pt HQ and 200 pts for some troops (very small scale i know) he had a librarian and a 10 man tactical with heavy bolter guy and power weap n plas pistol in that squad broken down to 10 individual guys. i played brother champ with two 5 man strike all basic and my step bro played a priest with 13 blood claws. that ended up in an argument because it was unfair of me to have nem force swords and storm bolters on every guy O.o so he threw his rattle out of his pram and made a huge fuss over it.. this is the sort of stuff i have to deal with when trying to play a small friendly game lmao

anyways thankyou all for your answers
