After looking at the new Dark Vengeance I was struck with an idea. Convert the cultists (except that sculpt of the topless one with a Chaos star on his chest), into Imperial Guardsmen for use as either a priest led mini-blob squad representing frothing religious nutters, or as a squad of rag tag conscripts. So I ask my fellow esteemed Dakkanauts, would this be possible, or is it a fools' errand that would be more hassle than it's worth? N.B. I don't have a Chaos army, and I don't intend to start one.

Or, you could always turn them in to Penal Guard, that would fit relatively well if you could get the chaos symbols filed off.

You could also probably do a hive ganger based veteran squad if you put your mind to it. The cultist models look very Necromunda already

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

they look as if they were made for ash waste nomads.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

YES! I had this exact same thought as well.

However, I'll be buying some further sets of them & using cadian & catachan heads & weapons to differentiate them & created some variety, even though they're going to be traitor guard anyway I can't stand having 2 models be identical to each other. Even the 2 CSM Chosen from the DV box that look the same I removed the horns & spike on one of them so they're not identical any more.

Well I have some bizarre mish mash of Vostroyans (called the Petrovoskian Grenadiers) and Cadians, so the ones with masks with metals eyes and the rebreathers should be fine once the eight point stars have been taken off, they'll look Vostroyan-tastic. The guys with stubbers/flamers should be a doddle. The only ones I'm thinking of leaving are topless Chaos man, and the one's with plague masks. Even the Commissar should be easy, cut his head off, replace with hat head from command sprue, replace notched sword with a tidier one. File chaos star off chest. The guys with stubbers/flamers should be a doddle. Liquid Green 6 points of his mask's star so only the eye slits remain, (congrats if you understood that). I do like the idea of penal legion, but the idea of a priest led blob of religious zealots in tatty clothes just appeals to the history loving part of me.

This was more just my way of gauging the opinion of those who have DV to see if it was possible, on this, it seems to be. A man can dream.
