Also a ruins contest hasn't been done, that might be cool.
Also a robot/mechanoid contest of some sort.
The thing is I want to do something fun and different but also so people could build things that are usable for their own hobby. That way nobody can say they don't have the time to participate or don't need the thing in question. And even if they are not playing to win.
"Shrubbery" but does that not mean we need knights that say NI I like the Robot idea but it's the length of time I run short on

Shrubbery as in a collection of shrubs, including grasses, bushes, low-lying plants and small trees. I have no clue what this Knights of Ni thing may possibly be about or referenced from
I like the Robot idea as well but there are problems, first of all i like to stay true to the -=]_=- theme of terrain, and robots kind of rules out fantasy people, people will probably do their faction specific stuff and it might not be as challenging.
My point being, everyone uses bases or terrain with shrubberies and they neglect it or could go much further in depth (myself included).

It's a slight quibble to be sure. I definitely want to mull this over and get second opinions about it. Part of this is that if you are already working on that steam powered robot, or w/e else you're working on, you can still do it but on a base of AWESOME shrubbery. And I really intend on firing people up about this.

I realize it doesn't need to be terrain, but I do like the idea of some terrain thing and I don't want to stray from the path and abuse my power too much So bring me a shrubbery!

Shrubberies with ruins it is. (in any case it shouldn't be hard to incorporate them). I think I'm mostly decided on it, I'll write up a cool new thread tomorrow.

well... congratulations meade... your piece would have won if even more had entered... the feeling of the whole thing and everything really ...i couldn´t tell who could have topped that one!
well... will you open up a new thread for the next comp? that would be a good way...
er... forgott to show my stuff here... waht a lazy git i am^^... so for competness sake... here is the completed arena of mine... sadly out of the contest... but you can admire it nevertheless^^
Hey everyone!
If any of those who haven't been able to finish their pieces still want to share pic of the finished models, please do!
Now.... Vik. You certainly win the prize for "most enormous entry" (along with the one for the greenest entry ) I really appreciate that you put so much effort in building an arena, even though it didn't work out so well in the end... but I love the greens, the sci-fi feel it has to it, and of course the dakka-ads! The yellow stripes provide a nice contrast, and I totally dig the big screen! Great work man!
And mars.... That is one of the best pieces of Eldar-terrain I've seen. I love the design and surface of the shrine, great work dude. The palette looks great, it fits into a desert landscape really well, and It also works really well on the table, kudos! Also totally digging the flags and the rune on the ropes! It was a pleasure watching this come together
