I have nothing nice to say. The paint jobs look to be about on my level. And for a professional company, and compared to their more common work, these are just bad.

The combi-weapons are awful. Most peoples kit bashes look better.

The lightning claw, pure comedy. They didn't even bother to straighten the blades!

What an awful kit.

I like the combi-melta, but the combi-flamer just looks flimsy and the combi-plasma looks squashed. But saying that, I see nothing wrong with the rest of the set...

I agree that the claws, combi-flamer and combi-flamer look terrible. The Heavy Bolter looks alright though. Kinda.

I agree with evilledz, the combi melta looks ok. But that's about it. The rest are badly cast for a start; the lightning claws alone should be sounding alarm bells everywhere. The flamer looks like a Land Raider has ran over it. The rest are just badly thought out designs obviusly done in a hurry. There is only so far that you can cast with bendy resin before it becomes impossible to get to work. Why these were not made in plastic is baffling; they would be of a higher sharper quality if they were.

I was planning on getting a set or two of these. Not anymore. Shame, if they had just used the same sculps you can find on other sprues and did a finecast kit, it would have been OK.

When I saw the advert for these in WD I was over the moon, they all look good there. As for this picture, I'm now rethinking my plans to grab a set, they just look like sub par parts from an awful 3rd part company. I'm disappointed in these, they had so much potential.

Yeah they looked a heck of a lot better in the WD but they just look comical from their website... the Heavy flamer is bent, the combi-plasma looks funny in my opinion and the bent bade has really turned me off buying it for the lightning claws :( it could have been a good kit if they had spent a bit more time on presenting it or having some better designs for the wepaonry...

Yikes... these are terrible. Whats going on with the parchment on that shoulder pad? Looks as blocky and horrible as the flesh on the new Flayed ones.

2/10. Would not buy.

They don't even have the cool box magazines that the metal sternguard set had. Forgeworld did a much cooler set with their character upgrade pack, that's worth the money, this is not.

I like the combi-plasma but that's about it... They're not even painted that well...

Though, I'm sort of not a fan of the direction they're taking the Ultramarines scheme recently. The blue is dark, but the highlights are everywhere and way too extreme to work with it. If they toned it down a little it'd probably be better. But, at this point I think the reason they highlight everything, including places that'd have a shadow cast from the other highlights, is to try and show off as much of details as possible. However it just comes on a tad too strong.

The right arm looks like they nailed some birch planks onto it for added armour... However with the claws the way they are I think they might not be so bad as powerfists instead.

God, those LCs and combi plasma look horrible.

I wonder why they didnt reuse the combi-weapons from the Commander box... These look really bad, I think most players can (and should) scratchbuild better ones.

This pack contains Space Marine Sternguard Veteran Weapons - a finely detailed resin cast kit that comes in eight components. They are supplied unpainted and require assembly - we recommend using Citadel Super Glue and Citadel Paints.

Still, doesn't call them Finecast.

By the way, the Lightning claw kit got this treatment as well. They're a bit better than the ones in that kit I guess.

It doesn't take a genius to notice that there is actually only one pair there and they've copied and pasted the rest under it.


And both are painted way better than their plasma guns... Not that any one should really care about when buying unpainted models anyway. Makes no difference really.

Resin, just not called Finecast specifically in their product detail. They seem to do this for most if not all of the bitz packs.

To me the worst part of the pack is that combi weapons look nothing like the other combi weapons found in other GW kits. They call this a Sternguard pack but the combi-melta and -plasma look nothing like the one that comes in the Sternguard box.

No unsightly bends, just constant glue usage to ensure they stay on! Yay!

The combi plasma is literally just a plasma pistol slice down the middle and stuck ontop of a bolt gun! poor show! Could easily make my own one of those... not that I would because it looks awful!

Actually looks pretty decent when done with a csm plasma pistol

My biggest gripe about GW 'Combi-weapons' is that the one shot weapons is on top.

That is completely backwards. I know 'It's 40k' but I can't tell myself that having the 'M203' on top is ok. I just can't.

Not to mention the models themselves are inconsistent and poorly done. Some have the ejection port for the bolter inline with the combi-melta.

It's just bad. lazy modelling.

The Combi-plasma in the Commander's box is the way it should be. Combi-weapon underneath the bolter.

I am honestly embarrassed for whomever was responsible for this kit. I would expect to loose my job for putting out work of this quality.

I actually have those exact clawes in metal, except mine don't look like they've been through the garbage disposal.
