Other peoples wives give me crap all the time since most of the gaming and barbecuing happens at my place.

To them, I am the closest thing to the neighborhood crack dealer.

Now, my GF keeps her opinions to herself since she's a CRAFTER.

My wife doesn't particularly like that I take up almost a whole room with my crap but that is about it... she used to play WHFB with her brother when she was smaller but is not really interested now (and certainly not in 40K).

My wife hates the cost and all the clutter it leaves on the table, she does not understand the addiction to plastic crack and wonders why I always want more.

But as soon as my friend and I start talking about Ork Nobs and Vibro cannons she is laughing her sides out.

The last time my wife brought up the cost of my toy soldier hobby I brought up her Coach purse collection, the number of hoodies in her closet, the number of pairs of shoes she owns, the room full of scrapbooking crap, all of her jewelry, etc.

Needless to say this subject hasn't resurfaced since then....

My wife loves my hobby. She loves that it makes me happy, calms me down, and that I excel at it. When I win a painting competition she screams like I'm a fething rock star!

GOD I love her so!

Pretty much the same for me. Like, on the weekend, I split the DV box with a freind. $165au, so $80au for me. I came home with the Chaos sprues, she look at them and said 'you didn't get much for your $80 did you?'.

Same with clutter as well. When I got back into the hobby, I was taking over the kitched table for painting. She got quite annoyed at this. In the end, she made me a painting station. Like, bought planks of wood, and actually designed a painting station and made it for me, just to get me off the kitchen table.

Please forgive my newbness but what is a "neckbeard"?

EDIT: Realized I forgot this part.... My wife doesn't make fun of me but it's difficult for other people to grasp. And for some reason she always feels the need to bring it up specifically with people who will think badly of it such as hardcore sports fanatics, or my mother-in-law. Not people who play, but those who only watch and think it's weird when another grown man doesn't care for pro sports... unless it's women's beach volley ball or the lingerie football league.

This is relevant to my interest.

On topic: Did not had any models when I was with my ex, but she thinks they're pretty awesome, while the girl I quite like says they're badass, so its all good.

Same for me, she doesn't care for the most part. But she does like to bring it up in front of her father or worse mine. His idea of fun is to go out in the woods for a weekend and kill something. I don't mind if other people want to do it but it's not for me. I tried it and don't really care for it. No so much the hunting part I just don't like to wake up super early on my weekend and freeze my butt off.

I do love my wife!

Her brother used to collect when he was growing up (we started to get back into 40k a couple of years ago) so she was aware of it.

Now she has her own High Elf army and is finding the painting good fun, we have a half dozen games of fantasy but we are both still learning the rules, would probably be better off having a session with the guys at our LFGS

Nope. Lets put it this way - She watches Bravo TV and TLC, both of which are awful television channels (except for say "yes to the dress"... i like that show). Our unspoken rule is that I watch Bravo with her and "try" not to make fun of its utter... stupidity... and she "tries" to not make fun of my miniature wargaming and even listens to me rant about it/goes to some events with me.

Always gotta have that one thing on her, if not, she will walk all right over you.

By the way, Basketball Wives and Here comes Honey BooBoo makes me cry as an educator.

Ugh when reading about your wife liking TLC...mine is the same and she's infatuated with Honey Boo Boo...it makes my eye twitch

The only exposure I get from Honey Boo boo is watching Joel McHales comments on The Soup (it's a funny flipping show! Lay off lol)

When we were getting married it was all the wedding shows..when she was pregnant it was all the pregnancy shows! and now it's that and flip this house..which is enough to make ME flip

TLC and Bravo are evil incarnate. Not the good evil either. The "make me want to get a minigun and go nuts" kind of evil.

Find a good show on netflix and get her hooked. We've been through the X-files, Lost, Battlestar Galactica, working through Supernatural now.

What is TLC? Please enlighten those of us who don't watch regular TV, and only watch stuff on Netflix because most of cable is absolute crap? Also, how did Lifetime not get an honorable mention for crappy channels that women watch? I had to suffer through that one once...but the reward at the end of the movie made it all worth it.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

She's mostly okay with it.. We pay all bills, set aside money for food, then a sum for personal spending, and the rest goes into our savings account.
What we do with our personal spending money is not the otherones business. If I go out to a bar 4 times a month, or buy plastic crack doesn't affect her economy.

The only thing she gets a bit peeved at is the time it takes. Especially if my buddy and I play at our place, as it's annoying for her that I'm home, yet not really "there". She's actually more annoyed at the time I spend at my other hobby though. Aquariums. 2 hours a week to do maintainance and waterchanges. Though this'll hopefully get better when our son gets older and she doesn't have to watch him like a hawk... Or take him for a walk... He's not 1 yet, doesn't understand the word no, and thinks that water is hilarious. Especially the water in buckets as you can push them over and have ALOT of water to splash around with on the floor...

My wife does give me a little flak about it, but the cost isn't an issue, I always save 15%+ of my pre tax, invest well, pay the bills, cook and clean around the house, etc, so she accepts that its perhaps a bit dorky and the games are long, but I'm not yelling at the TV watching sports ten hours a week or just playing video games in five hour blocks.

Kevlar- Oh we do have our own shows that we watch togetber, How I met your mother, Big Bang theory Hells Kitchen and Walking Dead to name a couple of them

She thinks that Big Bang Theory is a smarter show than How I met your mother but I totally disagree...Big Bang theory is a smarter SOUNDING show which I believe makes it more pretentious than anything

How I met your mother is definitely smarter and has better and more intricate story lines that occasionally lie dormant until a season or two down the road...but I digress

Man I cannot WAIT until October for the new season of walking dead I'm getting the shakes

"The Learning Channel" they really should change the name, since all you can learn is how horrible the human race is becoming.
