No it's not bane, bane doesn't use a sword with a possibly offensive hilt. Also was bane on tv at 12:00 eastern standard time?
Here's another clue: his after school job is as a part time god of death.

To The Desk Of Shogun Rogue Trader Shiro Adama
Origin: Magos Verana Turing

Shiro, progress is continuing as expected. we've mustered our first platoon under the command of Kembei, who has gathered a squad of former associates as his retinue:

Also we've received an unexpected pair of items in the last shipment: two twin linked lascannons:

they can't be for the vendettas, I specifically ordered them to come pre-assembled. if those guys in the Adama Requisition Office think it's funny to waste my time, they've got another thing coming.
in other news the genetic tests on the locals are back, none of them are related to Inari, guess that armor is going to keep collecting dust on my shelf. what a shame.

And now I have an update on the mysterious headless man, who will be getting a new model based on a mandrake:

an urgent message to Shiro Adama
Origin: Inquisitor Dostoyevsky

+++ warning the following message is for the eyes of its intended recipient only, violators will be prosecuted by the inquisition +++
Urgent news, my sources on this planet are all saying the same thing: there's some kind of monster going around destroying entire towns, and its headed your way!

(the best image we could capture of the unknown creature)
from what I've gathered all the towns that have been destroyed were under investigation by my agents for certain sorcerous practices. the trail of destruction seems to be on a straight shot to the castle. advise cautious preparation of the populace, do not alert them that this thing is coming. I will attempt to intercept this monster and deal with it. if I Don't come back, tell Verana..........tell her she was always the biggest pain in my . servitor strike that last part.

Father,
I hope this message finds you well. things are progressing well here and we should have the planet under our control by early next year. however for now I need you to answer an important question. I've been on the trail of an ancient magos named Inari, and I ran a DNA test on myself against her DNA, it's a 100% match. I need an answer father: why am I an exact genetic match to her? this doesn't happen by accident. reply as soon as you can.

Destination: Magos Verana Turing
Origin: Magos Signas Turing

+++ thought for the day: Accept your lot! +++
Verana,
Explanation simple: you are clone of Inari. Inari my legendary ancestor, you are attempt to resurrect her. you were supposed to have all her memories and skills. when this failed to develop it was decided that you should be allowed to live your own life. do not hold yourself to her level, live your life on your terms.
Love,
Father

Shogun Adama, we found lady Verana passed out in her lab with this astropathic printout in her hands. she has been taken to the doctor and is recovering. sir there is something odd: she claims her name is no longer Verana, she goes by Inari now. Doctor says she needs more time to rest, but I believe this may be permanent.

Brother,
In my travels I've found one of our wayward brothers in illumination. he goes by the name fifteen, as he does not remember his life before his illumination. he has a strange gift as a result of his possession: he can assume a half demonic form and maintain control over himself. I believe that he has not come into contact with me by chance, I believe fate has intervened on our behalf. he appears to be around eighteen years of age, and I have taken him on as my aprentice. what I require from you is proper documentation for Mr. Fifteen when I return to the Ordos Headquarters.
Go with the light,
Alexi

EDIT:Hey everyone sorry about all the fluff, I know you came to see models, but I’ve got to get ready for class so all I can create right now is fluff.
Voice scribe of servitor XIV
(Shiro enters med-center, approaches Verana who is strapped to a bed)
Verana: Thank the Omnisissaia, Shiro you came. Mind telling these med-servitors to untie me?
Shiro: sure Verana, just-
Verana: no it’s not Verana anymore, it never was. My name is Inari.
Shiro: what are you talking about? Start from the beginning.
Verana: I’m a clone of the magos that crash landed here all those millennia ago. All my life I’ve had her memories inside me, figuring out what I was just woke them up. Verana was a mask I never knew I wore, one I’m taking off.
Shiro: so are you still you?
Inari: oh what, yes, my personality and stuff were always me. There’s just more of me now.
Shiro: so you still…you know?
Inari: have feelings for you? Yes, now if you don’t mind, could you let me out of these restraints. I’m down to my undersuit and it’s kind of chilly in here.
Shiro: doctor why did you remove her robes?
Doctor: we couldn’t fit her in the restraints with it on, it’s also nice that her implants have those removable spine jack things, otherwise we couldn’t have gotten her on the bed.
Inari: curse my vanity, and my desire to sleep on my back.

Yeri here, if you’re wondering what they’re talking about Verana/Inari has her servo arms attached through a series of plug in jacks along her spine. She can remove her mechidendrites for more formal occasions or to sleep. Her other implants are discreet and can pass for biological parts unless closely inspected, for vanity’s sake.

Voice recording of Servitor XXVII
(Dostoyevsky and 15 are walking down a forest road, sounds of forest can be heard in background)
Dostoyevsky: so you don’t remember anything before your illumination?
15: nope I’m pretty much a blank slate.
Dostoyevsky: so how did you pick the name fifteen?
15: because of this tattoo on my arm, it says 15. So you actually remember before your illumination?
Dostoyevsky: I’m surprised you don’t. most people remember every horrific detail of their possession. What do you remember?
15: I just woke up standing in a field of bodies covered in blood with a sword in my hand. I’m pretty sure I was the one that killed them all. I found some symbols on their bodies, cultic symbols. Since then I’ve been trying to find more of those people so that I can figure out who I am, but they tend to run and scream or try to shoot me when I try to get my questions answered. So I have to kill them.
Dostoyevsky: so why were you headed to see the shogun?
15: I wasn’t, I think subconsciously I was headed to see you. I think I sensed a fellow what did you call it, Illuminati? and thought you would have the answers I was looking for. (cranes his neck listening to something) you hear that? Sounds like a bird in distress.
Dostoyevsky: where?
15: over there in the bushes.
(the two walk over to the bushes)
15:hmm, looks like a little baby owl. Looks like the little guy tore his wing. He won’t live long out here alone. Master, should I give it the emperor’s peace?
Dostoyevsky: what? no! he’s coming with us. (picks up the bird) I think I’ll call you Eggbert.
15: you’ve got to be kidding.
Dostoyevsky: as my apprentice there’s something you should know: I never kid when it comes to cute baby animals.

A nice idea mate! But I would suggest to stay away from the easy path of swapping parts. The cool-looking japanese parts you use just don't fit with GW parts. Not in terms of proportions nor in terms of style. The IG weapons and other decorative attributes like aquila on armor would be enough to make them IG imo.

Shiro, as you know we've had a glut of volunteers since to was announced that the legendary samurai decided to join us. they're quite to pop stars on this planet. anyways, our primary limiting factor is supplying them all with gear. the lasguns are no problem, but the uniforms are rather bulky and with weapons and ammo being needed more than shirts and pants we just can't get much armor through. however I've found a solution: there is a local ceramic that has properties similar to carapace armor. not as effective, but we can supply it locally. the protection should be the same grade as an imperial guard flack jacket, saving room in our shipments for more important items we can't supply locally. I've had the armorers make a test version for your approval:

Ceramic armor approval status: pending

To the Desk of Shogun Rogue Trader Shiro Adama

Shiro, some of the huntsmen I noticed earlier have adopted the superior range of a sniper rifle, however there is one problem: the scopes the requisition office sent us do not have rear glare filters. if our snipers are to operate in the sun we'll need to issue them some kind of headgear to keep the sun out of their eyes. I'll leave the style of the headgear to your digression, you're the shogun.

hey everyone, I've made a squad of snipers out of cadian parts with a ashigaru torso, I just can't decide on the head. if anyone has some good ideas for samurai sniper hats I'm all ears.

I tried looking for Japanese Huntsmen (because every feudal lord needs someone to go hunting with) but all I found were spiders (and I'm arachnophobic) so the closest I could find were the hats they wear during yabusame. unfortunately the way I sculpted them when I see this:

I think this:

does anyone else look at the snipers and think "Mariachi" or would they work?

Inari, I suggest you use your new status as a minor deity to go "appropriate" those hats they use for the horse archery ceremony for the snipers. by the way how's getting the power armor up and running going? by the way, haven't had an update from Dostoyevsky for awhile, did he find his monster?

PS: I know I haven't had as much time for us recently, I promise I'll make it up to you when this is over.

To the desk of Shogun Rogue Trader Shiro Adama

done and done, the snipers have the hats. as far as the power armor goes, I need some very specific parts to fix it. my father is sending them in the next shipment. as to the inquisitor, his new ninja buddies just arrived, and apparently I'm the patron goddess of their clan. please help, it's very awkward being followed around everywhere by worshiping ninjas.

(please save me from these people)
I've tried bribing them to leave me alone by upgrading their swords into power weapons and fitting them with storm gloves (they're like storm shields, but in glove form, found the STC in one of my old stashes) but that doesn't last for long, and only inspires further devotion from them. apparently my goddess domains are gift giving, technology and agriculture. got to go, one of them is looking over my shoulder and asking if I'm writing some kind of holy scripture.

Ninjas.... sweet! the hats dont look mariachi they just look..... weird..... may i simply suggest to use some of the traditional warmasks(like the samurai) with mabye extended eyepieces from the lasguns or the binoculars glued on? with different peoples eyes at "zoomed" different lengths i think it would look good

Lucky for me I'm probably not going to use the snipers outside apocalypse games. The ninjas are my inquisitorial henchmen, the ones with gloves are crusaders and the one with the Kama is a DCA ( I don't know if you can tell from the pic but he's got one hand on the ninjato on his back and in the other he holds a Kama.)
Also yes the hats look weird, but they actually exist. Also I dont trust my skills to be able to sculpt mempo on to them.

I say do it, just make sure to have at least one of the guys have a machine gun built into his guitar (he can be a heavy bolter servitor)
EDIT: some people may look at my ninja and say "those don't look like ninja!" (I know my friends did) let me be clear: these are more realistic ninja, who will wear whatever blends in or that their enemy isn't expecting them to wear. for example I once wrote a series where a clan of ninja infiltrated a castle disguised as merchants. then when the guy they were supposed to depose came back and was on to their tricks they wore the one thing he would never expect a real ninja to wear: they entered as a "singing ninja-gram" silly outfits and all. that's why the ninja are dressed like my ashigaru, to blend in. the face masks are just to identify them as my ninja on the tabletop (and because they may run into a guy they met on a battlefield while doing an espionage job)

EDIT: by the way those storm gloves are based off something I saw in that TV series Revolution. the glove thing the guy wore while fighting. does anyone know if that's actually a real thing and what it's called?

Me too, I'm going to turn this blog into a joint blog called "Forces of the Adama Dynasty: Samurai and Viking IG: (whatever I'm working on goes here)" instead of creating a second blog because the armies are linked by blood (Shiro and the main character in the Viking IG are cousins) and the one weakness of my narrative is that Shiro himself doesn't get much air-time, he's the main character and he's only been talking once or twice. so the narrative for the viking IQ will be voice and pic recordings from Alfred's servo skull. also I can tell you know on future memos Shiro will be making quips kind of like Dostoyevsky did in the first memo. his personality would best be defined as The Regicide Master and yes a chess board will be in his office (or maybe a Go board, seems to fit the theme better)

Hey Guys, I know friday is samurai day, but I've written some Viking fluff while waiting for my class to start. Hope you like it:

EDIT: I've also got the army list for the Viking army up: See it Here

Recordings of Servo skull XVI
(on landing pad at space wolf outpost, Alfred steps out of the shuttle, three space wolves stand ready to greet him, Toki leading them)
Toki: ah, the young thane comes to claim his Wyrd, welcome to Varangia. I am Toki Runeseer, leader of this outpost.
Alfred: nice to meet you Lord Runeseer.
Toki: please call me Toki, or Uncle Toki.
Alfred: so I take it you are my father’s brother? I didn’t know the astates recruited from this planet.
Toki: (laughs) I’m not your father’s brother by birth young pup. Your father and I are brothers in blood. by sacred oaths I was inducted into his family and he into mine. Now the hold is not far, you won’t need that heavy backpack you’re carrying.
Alfred: I thought the hold was a half-day’s march from here? I’m just keeping supplies and snacks for the trip in here.
Toki: (laughs) a half-day’s march on foot, but not by land speeder, but if you brought snacks more power to you. never know when you’ll want something to munch on. Come with me the land speeder is ready in the motor pool.
(later in the land speeder storm, speeding across the forest road)
Alfred: so you say there’s a war going on here? it looks quite peaceful for there to be an active civil war going on.
Toki: yes it does, but it’s all an illusion. I’d bet there are at least five guys watching us right now waiting to ambush us.
(sound of explosion as a missile impacts the speeder, it takes a nose dive and skids along the road)
Toki: see what I mean?
(gunfire erupts from the forest)
Alfred: (shocked) you seem fairly relaxed for having people shooting at you!
Toki: oh it’s nothing new for us.
(Toki pulls out a bolt pistol and fires at the attackers in the trees)
Toki: now I suggest you run that way (points towards the opposite way of the shooters) and we’ll come find you when this is over.
(Alfred makes a beeline for the trees and runs for a bit before hiding behind a fallen tree. He catches his breath before he hears a growling coming from nearby. A black Fenrisan Wolf is standing next to him with his snout sniffing Alfred’s face. The wolf is lean and emaciated)
Alfred: hey now big guy, let’s not get hasty here. look at me I’m just skin and bones, you don’t want to eat me, I’m not worth the trouble.
Wolf: (growls)
Alfred: know what, I’ve got a compromise (reaches into his pack and pulls out a bag of jerky) see (waves it in front of the wolf’s snout. The wolf is transfixed) yea you like that, don’t you? (feeds the wolf some jerky. The wolf sits in front of Alfred, expecting more) yea eat up, because the more of that you eat the less room you have for me.
(later Toki and the others find Alfred and the wolf, Alfred is sitting against the tree and the wolf is in his lap)
Toki: aww, looks like you made a new friend. (closely examines the wolf) hey Olaf is that who I think it is?
Olaf: yes sir I think it is, the pup has befriended Harald the black, I’m sure the shepherds can rest easier knowing that he won’t be troubling their flocks anymore.
Alfred: what are you talking about? This thing’s going to eat me as soon as it wakes up.
Toki: doubtful, if Harald the Black chose to sleep in your lap he’s accepted you as his master. Congratulations you just adopted one of the most loyal pets in the galaxy.
Alfred: (sarcastic) Great.
(Harald wakes up and starts sniffing the air before barking, just then a figure jumps down from a nearby tree and a white fenrisan wolf walks out from behind it)
Ingrid: how cute, a boy and his wolf. Too bad it ends here with me collecting the bounty on both your heads.
Alfred: whoa, I can understand a bounty on the fleabag here, but I just got here. how can there be a bounty on me already?
Toki: you sir must be quite a man to challenge a man protected by three space wolves.
Ingrid: (removes her helmet) I am no man. I am Ingrid Warborn, daughter of Erik and Freya Wyrdcrossed, and today I’ll be collecting your heads.
Toki: hmm, not a man, that’s a problem.
Ingrid: what you can’t hit a girl?
Toki: actually yes, as a unit our wyrds prevent us from harming a woman, just as my personal wyrd says I can’t shave my legs, and Olaf cannot eat the meat of dog.
Alfred: are you tempted to shave your legs?
Toki: no, wyrds are often some strange behavior that rarely presents a problem, but in this case pup you’re on your own.
Alfred: great. (looks at Harald) I don’t suppose you have a plan do you?
Harald: (howls, far away other howls answer)
Toki: so the rumors of all packs swearing fealty to the Black are true.
(the howls get closer and soon wolves can be seen gathering around the perimeter of the group)
Ingrid: damn, looks like this is it Sigrid, we go down swinging.
(there is a tense standoff as the wolves circle the pair. Harald looks at Alfred waiting for a command to strike)
Alfred: look, I don’t know what the bounty on me and the mutt is, but I’ll give you a chance to walk away from this with your life. I’ll pay you double what our two bounties are if you agree not to trouble me or him anymore.
Ingrid: you must be kidding, you have me at your mercy and you offer to pay me to let me live? What kind of madman are you?
Alfred: one with more money than sense, and I’m quite the sensible guy. Now you in or out?
Ingrid: fine, I’ll work out the details later just restrain your wolves.
Alfred: you heard her.
Harald: (barks, the wolves leave. Ingrid and Sigrid dash away)
Toki: I don’t think that’s the last we’ve heard of her.
Alfred: yep, she’ll definitely be back.

now it's time to introduce the leader of my ninja: the castle gardener, Boothby

Recordings of servo skull designation “eyes of the shogun”
(shiro is sitting on the patio overlooking the garden, the groundskeeper is pruning a rose bush nearby)
Boothby: you seem vexed young Shiro, may a simple gardener ask what’s wrong?
Shiro: I guess it couldn’t hurt, but tell me: how long have you worked here?
Boothby: I’ve worked in the garden for the past fifty years or so, since the middle of your great grandfather’s reign as Shogun.
Shiro: so you’re familiar with the politics of Shinshima?
Boothby: very much so, I’ve been an advisor for the past three shoguns not counting you.
Shiro: but I thought you said you started working here fifty years ago?
Boothby: I’ve been working in the garden for the past fifty years, but I’ve advised the shoguns for much longer.
Shiro: just how old are you?
Boothby: let’s put it at old and leave it at that. So what do you need to know?
Shiro: those ninja that the inquisitor hired, how can I get them to leave my girlfriend alone?
Boothby: oh Grigor never hired them, they always worked for the Oba Clan. They just needed to know they could trust the new Shogun. And as for your girlfriend the goddess, I have a feeling they will be giving her a break soon.
Shiro: how do you know that? She’s the patron goddess of their clan, and they seem to follow her like little lost puppies.
Boothby: in mythology the goddess Inari was known to be a bit strange in that she would ask to be left alone when she was suffering, and the only way to relive that was for someone to stay with her. they merely believe they are easing her pain, but if she really wishes to be left alone I can tell them to do so.
Shiro: no offence but I don’t think a bunch of ninja will listen to a gardener.
Boothby: then it’s a good thing I’m their clan leader.
Shiro: WHAT?
Boothby: yep Boothby the white fox, leader of the kitsune ninja clan.
Shiro: were you ever planning on telling me this?
Boothby: you never asked, and I just did.
Shiro: So if you’re a ninja why are you working in the garden?
Boothby: I’m the Oniwaban, the keeper of the palace grounds and first line of defense against assassination. Besides no one ever suspects the gardener of being a martial arts master, so it’s the perfect disguise. Now if you don’t have anything else to talk about there are some snails that need to be eliminated.
Shiro: no, not right now, maybe some other time.
Boothby: alright then, we will speak another time Shogun.

Wanted: The White Fox

Crimes: murder, trespass, arson, treason against the rightful Shogun Toyatomi, ect.
Aliases: too many to count, often travels as a masked impoverished monk offering to do odd jobs for food. if you encounter such a man do not accept his offer, this is how he infiltrates.
Reward: 15,000 thrones, reward may be claimed from any established office of the Toyatomi Clan.

Shiro, just wanted to let you know that Dostoyevsky is back in town, his new apprentice Fifteen should be following him shortly. although honestly I hope he takes his dear sweet time, from what I've heard about him he already gives me the creeps.

by the way the armor parts didn't make it in the most recent shipment, something about diverting resources to establish a trading post on Varangia, I know we're not exactly the most profitable venture of the Adama dynasty, but damn it those guys in the requisition office are dragging their feet on sending us new equipment. I've sent a letter to the Dynasty patriarch so that we can circumnavigate the requisition bureaucracy. you said he considers you his "favorite grandson" right?

Shiro, whatever you did got those ninja to leave me alone, and I'd like to say thanks. I've equipped more of the ninja with power weapons, including their leader a man by the name of Ryu, who seems a bit more reasonable than the rest of them. he just arrived and he's keeping the rest in line. I think he's their leader, but for some reason he's always hanging around the garden talking with the gardener. he may be weird, but at least he's keeping the ninja calm, I was even able to take a group shot of them:

Ryu is the one in the front on the left, and the gardener is the one on the right.

Urgent Report to Shogun Rogue Trader Shiro Adama
Nature: shortage of binding agents
origin: Magos Inari Turing

Shiro, we've got a problem. I've been getting a lot of things done recently, and I'm running extremely low on the binding agents used for most of our units. I still have ample supplies of Fine Grade binding agents, but I've only got fumes of my Armaplas binding agents. this is a serious problem as the components needed to make the binding agents are not available here on Shinshima. we'll need to include quite a bit in our next shipment, and I really hope that those jerks in the requisition office don't drag their feet again.

yeri here, take a guess what I'm running low on and can't get locally?

^ Glue, that problem has happened to me a lot unfortunately. :(

Seeing a squad of veterens swoop in in a Vendetta, secure the area, deliver that math assignment, and extract within 2 minutes would be freaking sweet.

Hey, it may be viking day, but the vikings aren't here yet, so with my lack of glue I've been reduced to writing fluff for the time being. here's a little bit fleshing out Ryu:

Recordings of Servo Skull designation “eyes of the Shogun”
(in the garden, shiro is sitting on the patio playing a game of Go with Boothby)
Boothby: you’re getting better at this young Shiro.
Shiro: I’ll admit it’s a bit different from regicide.
Boothby: of course it is, Regicide is based on attrition strategy, go is based on territory control strategy.
(Ryu approaches the two)
Ryu: hello father.
Boothby: good morning Ryu.
Shiro: wait, Boothby I thought you said your wife was barren?
Boothby: she is, Ryu is my adopted son. Would you like to tell him the story?
Ryu: no, you actually remember the events, I was just a baby.
Boothby: alright, when daimyo Toyatomi destroyed the town of Konaha the Kitsune Clan was sent to search for survivors. There was only one: a baby in a samurai helmet being held in the arms of his dead mother.
Ryu: if I hadn’t have cried so loudly you never would have found me.
Boothby: yes, you certainly have a set of lungs on you. anyways my wife was with me during that mission, and having wanted a child she decided to adopt the baby as her own. We raised him as a member of our clan, and he’s become one of our best ninja.
Shiro: so that helmet you always wear-
Ryu: yes it’s the same one I was found in, it’s also where my name comes from.
(he removes his helmet and shows shiro an inscription on the inside of it)
Ryu: Toyatomi Ryu, I’m assuming that’s my father’s name. I’ve done some digging and Daimyo Toyatomi I believe is my uncle.
Shiro: (whistles) so your uncle had your parents killed?
Ryu: it seems that way, and if I ever get the chance I’ll repay the favor.
Shiro: then you’ll be glad to know that Daimyo Toyatomi is going to be the first target of our winter campaign. In a few months you’ll have your revenge. I’m assigning your ninja squad to the pre-assault assassinations.
Ryu: (bows) thank you Shogun.
Shiro: just do me a favor, the Daimyo has no wife or children, don’t die while killing him. I need a new Toyatomi daimyo more favorable to our postion.
Ryu: understood.

+++ thought for the day: The dead watch over us and guide us +++
Cousin, I hope this finds you well. I'm currently on the planet Varangia refurbishing an old base established before both our births. I heard that the requisition office is being tough on you, but honestly now that we're up and running you should start to see supplies headed your way again. honestly the only reason they think this place is profitable is because of a certain tree that makes beautiful looking wood, and some other native plants. you've got some serious deposits of precursor components to Diamantine in the local clay from what I hear, something that in my what did you call it "barbaric mind" is much more important than some fancy wood and tasty tubers. would you like to trade places? I'll make a mess of your regimented and civilized court with my "barbaric ways" and you can wake up with the biggest hangover you've ever experienced every morning.
hope to talk to you in person soon,
Alfred

he's never going to forgive me for all those times I called him a barbarian, but honestly he eats, drinks and looks like one, and if it growls like a grox. at least now he's not out of place.
