I'd like to give a bit of historical perspective to this:
the Romans viewed pink as a masculine color for the more down to earth. because it was a shade of red, the color of the war god Mars, and it was easier to maintain that color for a common Roman who couldn't afford the expensive vibrant dyes that the elite could. with the dyes of the day colors would become muted after a few washes and a nice red would fade to pink.

Yes, i have a pink army. I have yet to play them outside of my immediate group of friends. My question is this - should I repaint the pink parts of their armor as a light purple, or something less feminine.
I don't mean to be stereotyping anything but I wonder if I'm going to be made fun of or teased for the pink marines.
What do you guys think?
Aside from them, what else is in the army?
Just Pink Marines? Thats all?
Tenticles! and... slannish things.
Other then that, You picked them, you play them. No big deal, its what you do with them on the table that matters.
Just make sure that you defile the prisoners, women, and children after the wins.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money. |

Having read through this post I have one question to ask. Have you never seen a John Wayne movie? Look at the number of times the Duke wears pink. Most folks would not call him feminine.
And yeah, my primary Waaagh-Boss wears pink.

Umm, you are playing pew pew with toy soldiers and worried that someone will tease you because they are pink? Okay....
First, no one cares. most people respect a well painted EC/NM army because it is very striking and pink is notorious for being hard to pull off. Second, EC/NM are remorseless, murderous sadomasochists who revel pain and pleasure, and have no qualms about violating their victims in every way imaginable (and then some) before rendering them down for an intoxicant. They consort with daemonic entities and warped beasts and aspire to supernatural pseudo godhood while serving a devouring cosmic horror birthed by the excess of an alien species.
So, pink is by far the least disturbing aspect of them.

That should be noted...they arent solid pink like the Ultras are solid blue...they are base black with pink areas, details, etc to make them flashy.
I have some WHFB Warriors of Chaos, and they have brass armor with light purple/pinkish details, since I was going for a Slaaneshi type theme. I like the way the bright colors like the pinks, purple, electric blues & greens really make minis stand out.

Nah, doesn't matter to me either. Whoever it does matter to, just whoop them a new one on the table. Then they get beat by a pink army.
As stated above, painting pink WELL is a tricky thing to do, so if you can do it well, rock on.

Your playing an army of harden drug using mad men who happen to be pink. Unless the person your playing against is a three year old they should get over it. And if they don't ignore them their words should mean nothing. The important thing with this game should always be do you think they look cool. Your the one who always has to stare at them during a game after all. Personally I couldn't give a dang what color you painted your men if they look cool.

Pink is an amazing colour, if I could make it work with my Orks I totally would. I might give a black and pink scheme a shot on some vehicles actually...
Feminine associations are nothing to be scared of regardless. As everyone else has said - anyone who gives you grief about it just did you a favour by showing you they're a waste of your time!

Fun little bit of trivia.
Up until the 1940's pink was for boys and blue was for girls.
Pink being similar to red which is the colour of blood, war and violence was considered very manly and pink was the boys version of this colour. The colour blue is a feminine colour often associated with the Virgin Mary and was the original traditional colour of wedding dresses symbolising purity.
So those pink marines you've got, they're actually sporting very manly colours and those poster boy marines the GW loves to market are very in touch with their feminine side.

well as for my 2 cents...
i would love to see a pink army, i love seeing all sorts of paint jobs really, i don't associate color to gender or anything else, if it's a good paint job or you have put a lot of work into your army then i would love to play against it and check out the paint scheme.
I think it's cool, a pink army,. Alternative and it will pop on the table. Now thats my idea of awesome.

If you have the skill to really make the testicle sorry tentacle pink rock then revel in it. When that scheme is done well it rocks and if you get challenged ask how good they are at bold vibrant hard to paint colours. Its your army painted to make you happy, so unlesd the persin hating on you paid for your army he cant really say gak about you using the wrong colours.if that doesnt work theres always the dreadsock option.

Chaoticredneck - the specimens in question are as follows:
This army is a mishmash of Imperial, Chaos, xenos, and other random bits thrown in. It is only painted to a tabletop standard and does NOT showcase my best abilities. I'd say the purple squad painted in pre-Heresy colors is a good approximation of my usual standard, but I am always improving and always learning, practicing regularly. Anyway,
This is my first squad. All of my squads contain at least one member of the infamous "Special Children". They are known for their bizarre and freakish mutations. Fun activity - try and spot them all!. Incidentally, this squad also contains a converted scout. I run him as a normal Chaos Marine, and fluff wise I can only think of one explanation - the Emperor's Children are recruiting teenagers! Seems like a good tactic...what with teenagers being very HORMONAL and all.
Second squad, also lead by a "Special" Child. I run him as a Noise Champion with a doom siren usually, as that is what the flute-like mouthpeice built into his helmet represents.
Another squad, with another Special leader. Seeing the pattern?
More squads.
A dreadnought. I actually quite like this kid. Thus I took a better picture of him:
A squad painted in the preheresy colors. These guys I'm proud of, and are the best approximation of my skills. If you look, the armor gradient is all wet blended. While it doesn't show up on camera, you can sort of see it on the shoulder plates.
A pre-heresy predator. This was converted to roughly resemble the Deimos pattern.
Another pre heresy predator.
And now I'm done.
