The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Lavishly decorated, this book is leather-bound with inlaid metal detailing and foil-blocked page edging, and also features metal cleats to the corners of the book’s casing impressed with the Imperial Aquila.

It is a stand-alone supplement for Warhammer 40,000 and contains a vast array of colour profiles, maps and artwork. Also included is a full Space Marine Legion army list and background, histories, character profiles and special rules for the Death Guard, Sons of Horus, World Eaters and Emperor’s Children Legions.

Looks pretty cool. I will probably pick it up.

I really liked some of the models in that video.

I hope there will be more illustrations in this one than there are photoshop re-colorings of the marine and vehicle silhouettes. New illustrations for the characters alone would push this over the top into must have territory for many people, I think.

Points of interest: heresy era terminators, a vindicator with las cannon sponsons, a jetbike, and a sm 2 cannon baneblade. Also a random remake of an RT era communication officer marine.

The rules will emphasize that this is the Legions by providing alternate wargear and unit configurations that dont exist for the chapters.

Also looks like some kind of world eaters land raider proteus with single lascannons and a demolisher cannon.

Edit: aaand everyone else says vindicator which I guess would make sense just thought it was a weird hull choice or are my eyes playing tricks.

My guess is they're doing something more in line with the original Epic interpretation of a Vindicator which was half way between rhino and land raider, and not just a rhino variant. The lascannons are probably just there to further justify a bulkier model.

I think the interesting part is that these books are described as an ongoing series and full "third strand" of Forgeworld next to IA Books and Warhammer Forge.

A full-fledged "third" of FW is from now on going to be doing a series consisting essentially of Space Marines!!!!!

There's that large tank from 2:43, seeing as it's a bit seperate from the other surprises in the vid.

Don't forget that they mentioned non space marine forces. You have imperial army present, Adeptis Custodes, Sisters of Silence, Assassins, and legion based human armies. Also wouldn't be surprised to see daemons later on in the series.

Well I think the move to doing this series is because they effectively ran out of worthwhile ideas for the present time period. Hopefully having a marine heavy series will improve their willingness for more non-marine armies in Imperial Armor.

on the forum. Obviously

So space marines having Jet Bikes is canonical now? I thought that was retconned.
And what happened to all the Jet Bikes?

That Super Heavy with the 2 cannons would make an excellent Apocalypse tank from RA2.
Hmmm lets see...Marines could be Tesla Troopers. It'll be perfect!

When? Heresy-era Jetbikes have been around for a very long time. There's even one in the current timeline.

As to where they went? It's anti-grav tech. It's something the Imperium can hardly manage to do.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Ohmygodohmygodohmygod Cataphract Terminators

Also, they should really just have Alan Bligh do all the promo videos for GW, he's one of the few people they have that doesn't look like a rubber puppet reading from cue-cards when he talks.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?

Now *that* is how you do a teaser trailer that gets people interested! I love the remake of the old RT era comms officer and the jetbike... both will have to be bought for painting!

I don't generally have a taste for heresy/pre-heresy stuff (excluding Mk. 4 armour), but those terminators!

I'm interested to see what else they come up with over the course of this series on the strength of these previews.
