I haven't seen a mention of this Kickstarter on Dakka; forgive me if someone's beaten me to it. Dungeon Crawler has a Kickstarter going. While it is primarily for pre-painted minis, there is an option to get the figures unpainted for those who prefer to paint their own:

For a line of miniatures called "Dungeon Crawler" they don't have a lot of miniatures for things you'd expect to find in a Dungeon...

Their figs aren't bad. They're also available in "Natural" (i.e. unpainted) for $1.29 each. That's even cheaper than Bones!

I was totally unfamiliar with the company before this post, so I checked out the other minis they sell. They've had three waves of figures already and for the most part they don't really fit the "dungeon crawl" theme the name would imply either.
Wave one: From the Depths (a line of tentacles)
Grappler (fits the theme), Kraken Tentacle (semi-fits if there's an underground lake) Otherworld Arm(fits the theme), Plant Vine (not much light in a dungeon)
Wave two: Omens
Giant Ant (fits the theme), Mastiff (while they can be powerful, not so much a staple of the dungeon crawl), Raven (not so much), Wood Coffin (could be useful)
Wave three: Town Folk
(not even going to bother listing)
So, in general the models look nice and the prices are great. I'd just like to see more "Dungeon Crawl" themed minis. Orcs, gobins, rat-men, skeletons, kobolds, giant rats, snakes, bats, giant spiders, demons, ogres, etc.
I do hope their Kickstarter is sucessful so I could see them make some models I'm interested in eventually.

Well keep an eye out then, if we make some Stretch goals you may be pleasantly surprised.
Also, Dungeon Crawler is our brand name - we're all about fantasy gaming.

Dungeoncrawler is Greyhaze from the old Maxminis board and the Plasticrypt ppm message board. Auggie is the online vendor for the Dungeon Crawler minis and , if I understand the set-up of the Kickstarter, he'll be handling the distribution/shipping of the Kickstarter minis. The initial three waves of Dungeon Crawler minis fill niches in rpg gaming that the D&D and Pathfinder minis never covered. As the line expands, I think that we'll see some more traditional fantasy minis. And as someone pointed out, the unpainted versions of the minis are a great buy.

V

You can get all those from Reaper and a dozen other better-established companies. Don't we already have enough threadshatnering going on because Mantic (and others) "can't make anything original"? Do you really want another company that makes the same stuff you already have?
I'd prefer to see them go in other directions. I'm pretty excited for the possibilities. Another Bones-ish line that might actually have something fresh? What a shonda!

If they meet their goals and add extra figures to choose, then it's worth backing, but until they meet their goals your pledging for a bunch of duplicate sets of pirates.
The Elemental is awesome, but how many huge water elementals does one need ? I say this from experience, I still have a half dozen huge fire elemetals from D&D and while beautiful your players will get grumpy as hell if you try to throw multiple huge elementals at them more than once.

Spreading the cheer with a new update!
How about a PRE-Thanksgiving THANK YOU (Canadian Turkey Day is Oct 8)!
We will give everyone who pledges before October 3rd, 1 extra mini (at random sizes tiny-medium) from of our achieved goals if we reach 500 backers, if we are able to reach 1000 we will make that 3 extra minis.
All those that have already pledged are also eligible for this reward, and it is stackable with the “FIRST” promotion!
Spread The Word!
Thanks For Pledging!

yes, there are other companies out there and I'm really looking foward to reaper's Bones line expanding. That being said, there's plenty of room for good minis at great prices. I don't know if the bones models will be as cheap as these.

I would totally agree, our KickStarter is geared to grow! But, the lower pledge levels are priced reasonably enough to jump on board I would think.

I'm inclined to agree. Right now it appears that there is only a little overlap (the pirates) between Bones and Dungeon Crawler lines. There is some overlap between DCrawler and the wider reaper catalog, but with 2000+ SKU's, Reaper has already covered just about every fantasy fig already. Let's see if DCrawler can keep putting figs into plastic/vinyl that aren't yet in that medium.
As someone who is only interested in the "natural" white minis, and not interested in all the figs in the Kickstarter, I'll probably pass, but it's very likely that I'll be buying a few of the figs in the near future. The Scamp, Dog, Beggar and Merchant are figs I would have use for and when the KS figs hit the store, I'll probably make an order including a few of them.

Yep, figs not in the kickstarter are available already. I've just got such a backlog that I'll probably wait till they're all (including the few KS fis I want) available via the webstore to pick up the ones I want.

320 to go in 1 day, inconceivable! We've also done a major revision on our KickStarter, tweeked a little and made it more straight forward to read. Naturals are now available as singles (apologies on the graphics, I'll see if I can update them better).
