Looking good, and looking at pic 30 this could make a good base for a landspeeder variant too.
Nice job on the sentinel style 'hips', although I'm a bit puzzled by the jet exhaust for a walker?

Wait a little bit more Victor. The legs are taking shape.

It does look like a possible landspeeder with a troop compartment in the back. As for the jet, Just think of it as a jump assist. If you throw anything over a D-4, The Walker can jump 24" (60mm), anything less, 12" (30mm). It is just like the helicopters, that have jet turbines but are used to power the propeller shafts. But I like the jump capabilities, to overcome obstacles and land behind the enemy. You would have to come up with the points system for it, like it would be the same points as a chimera, and the weapons count would be added as well. It would have to be agreed by the players as to how the points can allocated.
Now on with the build. So far the leg sections are coming along well and no problems encountered in the fit as of yet.

The next conversion will be ready to be built after I am finished with the Walker. I have enough reference and sketches to get it started. This main body is opened to many variations of conversions..
So now, on with more updates on the leg building phase. At the moment I have to wait until the lower leg glue sets so that I can do the ball joint connector. Enjoy and see you all soon with more updates.

There is still one more leg section before I get to the foot pads. But that will become apparent next posting. it will have the Sentinel leg profile.

Those caution stripes are there to make the model look cool, besides, imperial guards need to know where they are so that they do not step into a bone cracking hydraulics. The legs are almost done and the pads are attached but that will be for the next posting.
The lower legs are almost finished. Disregard the positions of the legs in the photo, they are on backwards but it will be fixed later near the end. The body will not be attached until the weapons array is done a few more details are finished.

More photo updates, The making of the missile launcher. This version is different in that the launchers become one single unit and will be place on top of the cabin. The model is already nose heavy as is and this will bring the center of gravity back to the center. Again, the cabin will be attached permanently later after the weapons array are finished. But here is a look of the full body and legs pose.

Stick around, there is more to come. As for sites that deal with 40K stuff check out zealot.com and papermodelers.com At papermodelers, and zealot, look for armormans threads and you will find just about every vehicle in the imperial guard inventory, to include the Astartes.

When I saw the body of the Storm talon, it reminded me of the Madcat. The model is coming along very nicely. Here are a few more updates on the build. Enjoy and see you around the forums.

The controls are removable and that option is possible, but they would have to be scratch built. I am glad that you are enjoying this bild thread. Stick around for the other conversions.
I am almost near the end of this build. There are just a few details to do but it is looking real good. Here is a teaser of the almost finished model and photo updates. The Las cannons will be enclosed in a protective casing, instead of exposed. The connector is removable and you can design other arms, claws, power fist or weapons. The stand is not what I was going to originally make but my ink supply is getting low at the moment. Enjoy and see you all next posting

Viktor von Domm wrote:oh yeah...madcats look very good... that and the timberwolf are my favorits...

As mentioned earlier, the Madcat is what gave me the idea for the Walker. The sponson are removabel and maybe in the future I may make some options, like a power fist/claw or other kinds of armaments.
The model is finished and here are some updated photos of the model. All that is left, is the editing and posting of the last photos of the Manned walker build. Next on the assembly line will be that Helicopter support attack helicopter. To keep it in perspective, it will not be as heavily armed as the others but it will have a good complement of weapons. So enjoy until the next build thread. The last phtos will be spread out since I can only upload six photos at a time.

Thanks to all of you for your words of encouragements. I am in the process of the next Talon conversion and I am stuck at the cockpit stage. The details are no problem but I have to build two pilots for it. The figure is coming along very nicely so far but I will not post until I finish one of the pilots and then I will post as to how I made it out of carved paper. So wait patiently and i will be back soon with the next project.

It is comparable to the strength of a GW sentinel, and like the Sentinel. the weakest point, is the foot ball joint.. That could have been fixed by wrapping the thin strip around a wooden dowel or inserted a nail as the center. Since I wanted to try to make the walker out of card stock as much as possible, I used the paper stick, (Q-Tip)
As for the Talon, That is also very sturdy and can hold its own with its GW version. Both are heavy, about the same weight as the GW and just as sturdy.

That's always a good sign. Every time I scratch build something I dread to transport it because of the fear of breaking something in the car or something. Good work all around.

That walker is awesome. It's creative and it's well executed. My only criticism would be that the legs seem kinda weak compared to the bulky feel of the top. If i was shooting at that thing id go for the legs right away. Maybe throwing some plating on the sides would help?
Just an observation, great work!
