Hey guys. I just finished one side of my hammerhead and am wondering if this scheme looks like it is worth continuing? Is the camo effect decent of should I go for something different? How about the colors? I still need a lot of finer detail work like sept marks, jewel effects and what not but this is what I have so far. Thoughts?

I like it the fire warrior bases are awesome did you make those ? I would suggest trying red cloth on the fire warriors instead tho to give more contrast between the cloth and the armour ?

Ps how on earth did you do the camo ? Lol

I made the bases myself. They are just bits of plastic card with different textures and then things like pipes, I-beams, wires and chains glues on to them to give more of an industrial feel. I like the way the firewarriors look, My concern is the hammerhead.

Your honestly asking if you should continue doing a fantastic digital camo scheme on your Tau vehicles?! Yes. It looks awesome, and is easily the best digital camo Ive seen on DAKKA

That is the best digital camo I have ever seen. I would continue it unless its something you personally just don't enjoy doing/ aren't proud of. I don't see why you wouldn't be proud of it though. That is how I see my painting, if I'm not proud of what I did then it wasn't worth the time.

Its worth keeping that camo-effect.

But why does the hatch and the nose "break" it?

It takes a long time to do and I would have to do it on all my tanks, so if people didn't like it I was going to do something else. I am glad to see it is well received. I am just starting and I look a the galleries and see such amazing work I am worried mine won't measure up.

The red is one of the colors I used on my firewarriors so I wanted to continue it throughout the army. I also like the idea of the camo being broken up a little because it helps it pop out more. But I may be wrong about that and thats why I am looking for advice on it.

I think the breaks a good idea as the camo could get to much if it covers the entire tank ?

Absolutely love the digital camo, and I love the red breaking it up as well. Remember, this is Sci-Fantasy and toy gaming, so there's no need to care if your camo is "working" or not .. just as long as it looks good.

And this hammerhead looks great!

The digital camo is insane. How do you do it?

I just can't get over how neat it all is.

I started doing something very similar on my DF as well…. Major time consuming but it looks like you’ve got it down pretty good…. Digital camo is a win !!!!
Keep up the good work….

I think your Tau schema looks really good and your bases looks even better.
On top of that, it is also different but still feels very Tau.

My recommendation is to stick with it.

Heres a pro tip for ya, dont EVER do that. EVER! Painting is like everything else, no matter how good you are at it, someone WILL be better then you, thats just the way the world works when there are billions of people living on it. So do your best, learn new skills and techniques, be humbled by them sure, but dont EVER let them keep you from painting how you paint. Ive actually had people that are better painters then me, ask how I do my rust effects, or Ork skin. Thats a huge compliment to me. And I can tell it takes you awhile to do that camo, it looks like a damn decal its so strait

I have to agree with general consensus. The 8 bit skimmer is epic (Fine fine digital camo. But can we call it 8 bit anyway?)

Very nice work. The palettte of greys is very pleasing and the scheme is crisp. NIce work. Now go finish all your tanks and line them up in a row to dance for us
