I've been reading the new Chaos Space marine codex, but now I'm confused. The Deamon prince is listed as having - for a savings throw. I assume if I take the power armor upgrade he'll have a save of 3+ but what is a Deamon prince's save without upgrades?

So you'd better take that power armour or he'll be gunned down quite quickly with his toughness 5 and 4 wounds.

And the already knocked the price up 145 points starting. I still like the DP as an HQ though.

Yeah, only thing exciting about a DP is that there's a slim chance that one can replace a Cultist Champion and really annoy an opponent

After seeing one in action today I'm quite impressed. It was DPoN with the hammer, Psyker mastery lv 3. THing was like 320 pts ish and only died to rolling god aweful. Far too many 1s for D weapon, and failing of invuls/FnP.

It cannot get FNP, not without a boon

What Daemon Weapon?

It can take the Black Mace or the Murder Sword.

Murder Sword isn't a Daemon weapon, but I asked because he mentions "Hammer" so I was wondering what that was.

Ah yeah, my bad, was thinking of Chaos Artefact weapons in general. So that leaves the Black Mace then.

Slightly off-topic, can someone please point out pages that allow a DP (not one that is the result of a boon) of Khorne has access to Wargear restricted to models with the Mark of Khorne only?

i ask only because I've seen it come up a few times.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Even Daemon Princes gained through Dark Apotheosis don't have their Marks anymore. Not to mention they lose all their old wargear. So no, there's no possible way a Daemon Prince has access to any gear that requires a Mark.

Good thing too, since he doesn't have Feel No Pain.

The Blinding axe however will probably be FAQed to be allowed for a DPoK to wield it... since it gives rage and all the models with the MoK already have it except the DP, would be the only logical explanation for adding it, so that a DPoK could benefit from rage

If Endurance is cast on him he does.

I wouldn't say not worth the points since initiative and WS are both increased considerably... Played a game last night and my DP of Khorne with Black Mace was quite astounding, even at 285 points... He carved stuff up nicely to the point my opponent threw everything at him giving the rest of my army free rein...

Combat wasnt really where DP died - it was to shooting. Even autocannons wound them on 2+, meaning a lot of potential armour saves

Took me until post 5 before I realised this thread is about CSM and not daemons.
Probably the one thing that every CSM player does poorly is refer to their army correctly.

I mean in the OP the proper codex is stated.
