@happygolucky - this is still waiting to be announced.

However for those of you who wish to know more on the rules I suggest visiting:

http://pressganger.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/batman-miniature-game-rules-info.html

This is what seems an interview of sorts with the rules developer.

I'd be very tempted by this... if there were any rules yet! WTF, Knight Models? You presumably have the rules written... give us a working copy, at least, even if it's not the final version. Preferably before The Supply Drop's Black Friday sale ends.... :(

It has been knowing for about a month, RULES are go up for download, next month. This month is so we can have models ready and panited for day one.

Settle down son. No need to get all angry and start throwin’ around words like “bitch”, “whine” and, perplexingly, “fear”.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with wanting to know how a game works before taking the plunge with some expensive miniatures. It’s not whining to talk about it, it’s not bitching to demand it, and it’s certainly not fear.

WTF, Knights Model. Isn't whinning or bitch about something. Good to know. WTF, GW why your charge so much for your models, you don't pay that much to make them.

Exactly.

With the price points that these models are at, it is not surprising at all that people might want to know a bit more about the system before investing.

Thankfully Battleroads made it hard to resist jumping in feet first with their sale, but if it wasn't for that, I would be waiting for the rules too!

Also, check out this link for some potential terrain to use with the game:

Totally agree, I personally utterly LOVE the Joker crew and Harley and I am an average Batman Fan honestly. The way I did my sale as a business we may not make a lot of money but I wanted to make sure that anyone who wanted the stuff got it as no one else here in the states seems to have it. Even coolmini which is the main buyer of Knights Models here in the states doesn't have anything about it which is too bad. Sadly though I tried making posts about it on TGN but they won't seem to publish them hrmmmm, anywho HBMC just wants to wait for the rules and that's fine I can resepct that. For me I probably won't ever end up playing with any of these but I utterly love them and they scream paint me so that's why I am getting them, and that's why I will carry them.

I think that's certainly applicable with their 54mm display stuff, but 28mm is going to be a whole different ballpark I think Malfred.

Jason was enjoying Thanksgiving with his family, and usually only queues up 20 posts per day.

With every American company (and a few internationals) having a sale this weekend, I'd imagine that alot of news has gotten backed up.

Not really.

Their Star Wars line was totally not for any game that I could think of, but
they still produced and put out some nice minis for that. You could get Darth
Maul, some Jedi, Trade Federation droids...

Those were 28mm.

However, I don't know how successful those models were, sales-wise, so
maybe the models for their own sake approach didn't work so well.

I've decided I'm all over this for my son--going to setup a nice bit of terrain and have the Batman miniatures (hopefully painted and setup!) by Christmas morning to make it one of his gifts.

Terrific looking miniatures--can't wait to give the rules a read (hopefully not overly complicated!).

Not good enough to justify renewing the licence, presumably.

When the Star Wars stuff first started coming out, I came across a few people talking abot buying them for use in the WotC game... but for most, the fact that the prepaint singles were mostly so much cheaper sort of kept that as an option for the real miniature fans. Those who didn't care about the models not being as well sculpted just went the cheaper option.

I would expect the Batman stuff is going to be up against the same thing... Heroclix is a heck of a lot cheaper.

Maybe that's why they're trying a game this time.

But if the game is good won't that just drive people to play it
with clix models instead of this stuff?

The point was more that Knight Models are going to be up against those people who are interested in their rules, but find the Heroclix minis a more attractive option due to their price.

Batman is Batman. It doesn't seem like the specific miniature that KM are releasing would be that essential to the game.

That's the potential trap for anyone releasing a premium miniatures game in a setting for which there are other companies making similar miniatures. You have to bank on people liking your better quality miniatures enough to buy them instead of the cheaper alternatives.

Well, we were the first to offer them up for retail on our store here in the UK and are for sure going to back this range 100%... Absolutely love the models, not a huge gamer due to not much time or anyone to game with so will collect on looks alone.

Never really found the appeal though as far as Heroclix is concerned. Always looked like a game for children. Remember getting my son a transformer once that had a hexagon base style thingy and you clicked the base and numbers etc appeared. Solely purchased it because it reminded me of something children would play with.

So, I think Knight Models does not have to fear that people would go for the CHEAPER option when it comes to their new line of products! Just my thoughts anyways, especially judging by the success of this line on our sales this weekend!!

For those holding off to purchase this line, have no fear as we will be doing another sale ready for the release of the rules. Here you will be able to expect the same price as you can already see... The only thing we request from you guys is spread the word about us and like us on FaceHook and twitter...

There's truth in that and I wouldn't be that interested in it, if they would just use designs from the comics and the new 52. But they are making miniatures based on some of the greatest Batman designs in a long time. The Arkham games are fantastic and one of the things I like to much is the design. I can't wait for the Scarecrow and Mr. Freeze miniature.

That's my view as well. To me this isn't just another Batman game, it's an Arkham City game, and Arkham City reigns as one of my fav games of all time, a game that I can sit down and play through from start to finish without getting bored even though it's (essentially) the same each time. The visual design of these models captures the game perfectly, so unless Clix does an Arkham Asylum/Arkham City line, then Knight Models wins hands down.

I've been watching the increasing amount of Batman clix minis that TTGN has been previewing the past few months, and while some of them are nice I don't think I could use them in a game like this. They just seem... tacky. Cheap. And I wouldn't even know where to buy them.

I want to see the rest of this range, as there are some great things that they haven't shown us yet (Freeze, Bane, Mr. Hammer/Mr. Sickle, Penguin and Two-Face, Titan Thugs, TYGER Guards, etc.). We won't get a Scarecrow though... he was't in AC.

Scarecrow WAS however, based in Arkham Asylum game so we may indeed see this after all. As they are focusing on Both games universe!

H.B.M.C. nails it!

Sure you could play this game with crappy Clix miniatures, and certainly many will, but the 'official' models are so much nicer (and yes, pricier!), I think they'll do OK.

IF the rules are decent!

Distributor? No.

But Battleroad Games is selling them - at 25% for a while too! PM empchild for details!
