I noticed that the new one is 1.1a not 1.1. I don't know if its the same or not because of the German, but what can you do? It seems different.

Translation of 1.1a on the first page.

The only change from 1.1 to 1.1a that i've seen (using visual grep) is the errata on the daemon special rule for the wd units. They use the codex rule instead of the brb rule now.

There is a note saying to check the changes to the daemon rule, i can't find any though (apart from the changes to daemonic assault that's been around in 1.1).

The 1.2 is up. And yeah, it's the way they way everyone has pretty much been playing.

Q: Do models chosen from Codex: Chaos Daemons and / or the White

Daemon special rule from the Warhammer 40,000 Rulebook, or do they
have the Daemon army special rule from Codex: Chaos Daemons?
(p27)
A: All models from Codex: Chaos Daemons and/or the White
Dwarf, August 2012, Codex: Daemons official update have the
Daemon army special rule listed in Codex: Chaos Daemons
with the addition of the Fear special rule from the Warhammer
40,000 rulebook and a 5+ invulnerable save.

Would it save time to just create a rules thread to argue about chaos daemon vehicles 5+ invulnerable save and link to it now?

Pick your argument:

Everything else: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/485959.page

Those are no longer arguments. The FAQ settles those questions.

Does that mean that Daemons that had a 4++ or 3++ now have a 5++?

Well, you were right and wrong. I think you said both rules apply. The FAQ says only the codex rule applies and just adds the 5++

they gave them the benefits from the BGB Daemon rule. Fear and 5++

Saying that it's not the same thing is fine, I don't really care. It comes to the same result, what I care about.

So it pretty much boils down to GW saying, "Criminy! These Jugheads are arguing about this?!"

Except for the ones that leave comments like the above two ...

Seriously though, it's a good FAQ and I'm pretty happy they gave one yes or no.

Except now the answer contradicts another answer in the FAQ. Which is it, 1) adds a 5++ to all units or 2) only those units in the WD update. If all units, then the SG gets it which contradicts the previous errata.

Page 45 - Soul Grinders
leave the text in brackets for the Daemon special rule as it is but add "and have the Fear special rule"

How does that contradict?
Special Benefits don't stack and now The Grinder has a 5++
