Wherever they tell me

This has been a WIP for quite some time now, with me fighting for time to finish off his rules and the model. Once I get home I'll put a picture of the model here as well, and a picture after I finish painting him and the squad of veterans he leads.

So, without further ado here he is:

Shadow Captain Van'Oreep LaSalle "The Reaper"

195 points

WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv
...6...5...4.4.3..5.4.10.3/4+

Equipment: Jump Pack, Iron Halo, Bolt Pistol, The Raptor's Beak

Special Rules:
Chapter Tactics: All squads with combat tactics replace that rule with Stealth and Move Through Cover.

Preferred Enemy (Chaos)

The Raptor's Beak: The Raptor's Beak is a two handed power weapon that allows LaSalle to attack in two different ways. The number of each method must be declared prior to any strikes in the fight sub-phase.
---Scythed end:
------S: User
------AP: 3
------Special: Rending, Inflicts D3 wounds on to wound roll of 6
---Staff end:
------S: User +2
------AP: 4
------Special: Concussive, Every hit reduces enemy WS by 1 until the end of the next assault phase.

Sweep Attack: LaSalle may elect to attack once for every model in base contact with him. By doing this the attacks on his profile are ignored, and the number of his attacks may not be modified in any way.

Any questions/comments/suggestions are welcome. Though I will say that I really want him to be 195 points so he can be a direct substitute for Shrike if my opponent doesn't want me to use him.

Also, just finished up painting him tonight. I'll likely go back and do some more touching up soon, but here is so far.

Looks acceptable. I would play against it, (as long as he was an awesomely painted model of course). His scythe end maybe should have that rule that Sauron from LOTR has, which is where he can sweep it around and hit each model in base contact once.

GK Brotherhood Champions have that rule too, it's not unprecedented in 40k. Rules seem reasonable, I'd accept him on the table.

Doesn't Rending cause extra wounds?

Wherever they tell me

Rending makes it AP 2 and adds D3 to the vehicle pen roll.

For the sweeping attack, would you guys recommend that he replaces all of his attacks with a sweep from one end of the scythe?

That or specify which end can make sweep attacks.

Thinking about it, the staff end is not so much of a sweeping weapon. It would most likely lose momentum quite rapidly, while the scythed end has weight and can go through armor. Fluff wise it makes sense to allow for sweeping with the scythe only is what I'm thinking.

Also, finally got the first round of painting on him done.

Why does he have wings?

He has wings for the fluff I was making for him.

Plus I wanted a piece that would really stand out in my army, and it gave me an excuse to do a lot of conversion work.
