Did you guys get the Paradiso book and did yours come with the exclusive mini?

I got mine, cute pop singer with a robot dog.

Apparently her name is Gogo Marlene, and apparently she is a pop journalist. Who knew.

I intend to paint mine like miku

She's the same for everyone but she is limited edition.

I'm going to see if my FLGS has anymore paradiso books with her because she's perfect for YAMS

What's a miku?

She's supposed to be a serious irritainment** reporter, not a pop journalist. Y'know, for the square-eyed, Tube watching have-nots before their brains explode from blip-vert overexposure.

** Irritainment. (n). Form of broadcast that purports to inform and entertain, yet does neither - rather it inspires an inescapable desire to do maximum property damage to all and sundry. q.v. Big Brother, X-factor, "insert country" has no talent and any other so called "reality" format show.

She's limited edition in that ALL metal miniatures are a limited edition - the moulds wear out after a while and unless you still have the master, it is gone forever.
I can hope they trashed the master - that model makes the original Ko Dali and Uxia mcneill sculpts look good.

Haha come on mate it's not that bad

And you can always hope that an opponent plays her in a game, and then you can take out your dislike HMG-style

Also thanks, have added 'Irritainment' to my vocabulary.

I'm guessing this is Miku?

Either that or newly signed Celtic striker Miku Fidor?

Actually, the green and white might look quite good!

I got Paradiso but didn't pre-order, so no mini for me. If I had known that Journalists actually had a use in the campaign, I would have totally got her.

Journalists help with promotion rolls (which probably have an effect on what skills your spec-ops can get?). It is a skill with (at least) three levels. I'd probably add: Lvl4: Incurable alcoholic, and lvl5:bitter and twisted old wash-out. (used to do photo work for a newspaper, I'm a little cynical).

Due to the various screw-ups with transportation and incompetence at distributor level, I'm still waiting for my copy of both (should have it next week).

Apparently Miku is big in China. Feed it a song and the character sings it. Apparently they even do holographic concerts.

Makes me wonder what happens if you feed it something like Come As You Are.

Chromedog is like the angry alcoholic uncle of the forums. But I have no problem with him as long as he keeps the fridge well stocked.

I jest!

I think she's a fun model. And keeps the anime theme pretty well. I really like her robotic dog bunny thing though.

I agree. I actually think Infinity has lost some of it's Anime feel. Both with latest sculpts and even some of the new art in the book is a big departure from anime.

Don't know about that song, but here's Miku singing "Never Gonna Give You Up"

They're designed to sing Japanese songs so they pronounce English words in a weird way. There's that. But basically it's a cuter version of autotune.

yes it's definitely getting a more 'serious' aspect to it, although remember not all anime is bug-eyed girls flying through the air and holding oversized weapons!

There are still the models out there if you want to go for the more fun-style anime route, and the go-go Marlene is another one of those!

Ahhh... combat heels.

I used to hate them. Then I saw the Marut... the ALEPH TAG... also had high heels.

It was so ludicrous that I finally just fell in love with the design.

Apparently ALEPH wants her representations to be pretty. I'm okay with this.

Wow, hadn't seen that concept art for Atalanta. I like her... but not her spotbot. Hum. Oh well, it's not too bad.
I think right now Corvus Belli might be trying to cater both side of the fandom. They clearly still have anime girls in the making, but it is also clear that they are doing more realistic and practical designs too. As a fan of both, I rejoice.
I think it might work actually.

Umm... it's being working for awhile now.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

I think the Spotbot is awesome in that ridiculous sort of way.

I mean... you have an all powerful artificial intelligence that makes a spotting robot.

So she makes it an adorable bunny.

Because ALEPH.

Discussion reminds me of the Kitten Corner shot: a gun with a cat replica attached to it, to catch opponents unaware. It was featured in Future Weapons, and it is both ridiculous AND effective.

Cuteness and lethality combined.

Spoiler:

Don't know about that song

... as in you don't know it, or don't know if they've made it sing it?

Because if it's the former, you really do need to rectify that.

I do have her, because I preordered at the FLGS. Picked her and the book up today. Not really impressed with the model, but the book is nice

Of course I know the song, just not if a Vocaloid sang it, and if one did, if it's in the interwebs.

I'm NOT an alcoholic. Alcoholics go to meetings.

You'd be in trouble, because my fridge is currently as dry as a mosque - OTOH, the cabinet is fully stocked with good stuff.

It's a phrase coined by an ex-workmate in that industry - in response to "infotainment" or "edutainment" (inform and entertain or educate and entertain).

Unfortunately, I'll be running my club's Paradiso campaign in the new year (The last campaign I ran was Eldritch storm (40k). I was the only eldar player, as well - my job was to shut down webway portals in order to stop others getting access to them (spoilsport mode). They don't like me playing in campaigns that I run for this reason - I don't play to win ). I'm betting that killing the journo is a free win to the other side though.

I certainly hope not - as that strikes me as being something that would be way too easy to do.

@Chromedog - I will accept sharing the contents of the cabinet. Its that time of year and a good bourbon keeps the chill off. Then we can shun our meetings as we drink good booze and roll dice to murder each other.
