So here is my conversion of the Doom of Malan'tai.  He's not painted yet, and needs some touch ups, but I figured I'd share him nonetheless.

His head is a combination of a fex+mawloc along with green stuff and toxin sacs
body and a portion of the tail is a warrior + green stuff
back protrusions are the barrels of deathspitters
and a trygon tail bit

Very nice. Has a great "alien" feel to it.

thanks for sharing - also, thanks for mentioning the parts.

Can't wait to see it painted up!

Probably my favourite Doom conversion I've seen. Looking forward to seeing it painted.

That looks really cool, I especially like the little gribbly genestealer arms. Any reason why you left the eyes there? I am not suggesting that you change it, I just love that zoanthropes don't have eyes: so creepy and Giger-esque.

This is my favourite interpretation so far, much more natural looking than most conversions you see. Great work!

Thank you very much for the kind remarks.

It's not "scheduled" to be painted for a bit (we're doing an escalation league), but I'll start on it this evening.
I appreciate all of your encouraging comments.

@M4cr0Dutch - Truthfully, it hadn't occurred to me to remove them. I could extend the carapace pretty easily, but I didn't have a Zoan on hand to use as a comparison point. Ha. Sorry I'm sure that's not what you were expecting to hear.

Fair enough. It just reminded me about a Hive Tyrant conversion that I did back in 3rd Ed. It involved a HT body and a Zoan head (with no eyes). It was creepy, but ultimately didn't work too well and got itself recycled (into a Doom of Malantai conversion!)
