Heres a tip that works well so far. Farm minions and pretty much run back from other summoners that try it with you for at least half the match. Not only does it keep your deaths way down, but you can whittle down the health of other summoners that try to hard and THATS when you drop the anvil on em. Most of the time, it works 40% of the time

During laning you should ALWAYS be in cannon mode as it allows you to harass, gives you decent range, excellent poke and has a faster attack animation, making last hits easier. If ganked, merely start running, drop your acceleration gate and as you pass through your gate (not before) transform into hammer, there are few that are able to match that burst of speed with ghost and/or flash, by which time they have wasted it anyway as you are likely very near to your tower.

Yep and as a fun fact 1 champion kill is worth 20 minion kills. But, the more a champion dies in a row the less gold they are worth until they get a kill to reset it.
Also eventually (as you won't have to worry about it just yet as usually earlier on and lower it seems to be more about killing the opponent than objectives) try to not just keep attacking the minions at times, you want to just kill them for the extra gold. As outdated as it is now, this is still my favourite tutorial animation.
Spending all my time Volibearing, but I still miss Nasus Expect I'll go back to him before too long - dat slow! - but I am enjoying playing somebody that doesn't rely on last hits, makes my games a little bit more varied ...
Today played Voli on bot with Ashe against Blitz and Vi, crushed the lane before bringing the mayhem elsewhere. Was surprised how squishy Vi is if you keep on top of her

I remember when ranged adc's would go mid, man the times have changed. Also just tried Udyr solo top it's so much easier to lane with him over jungling as turtle stance gives him insane sustain and I find bear stance is too easy to escape from when jungling.
They have weekly free champs that you can pick from and play with, but obviously those only last the week. But thats plenty of time to save enough to buy a Champ for yourself. OR since you started a new account, you have just enough special cash to buy a cheapy. I bought Annie, wish I would of saved the cash though. She wasnt bad or anything, but still

Basically, yes. They put an effort to make the free champs be of a decent variety, the selection able to fill all the major roles. You also can use it to find a champ you really like so you know what you're saving up for. This free week has been generous to me, I've been a fan of Blitz, Ezreal and Zyra and look forward to unlocking them in the near future.

Every game you play you gain ip aka influence points (you gain more ip from games you won) which can be spent on new champs or runes (but don't buy runes till your account is level 20, because 3rd tier runes are the best and spending ip on weaker runes is a waste of ip) so you don't
have to spend cash to buy riot points to use as spending money.
Arguably tier one runes can be worth it while you level. Tier two are never worth it and in most cases you're better going runeless until tier three. Then you want to build two generic pages based on the types you like to play by then, carry pages seem to be the cheapest as they overlap quite a bit.
Once you have the standards done you can branch off into specific rune pages, though they will also cover a few champions as well. Specific stuff like on Teemo you can run an AP carry page, but since he doesn't have mana issues the yellows can be traded for armour or health per level. Then it also covers manaless APs like Katarina, Kennen and Rumble.
Also, if you guys are interested at all, they are doing S3 qualifiers and they are up for free viewing on the website. You can see what Pro players build and it might give you ideas.
I second that. Watching pros playing gives you some great pointers. Like, if your running away from an enemy minion wave, you can still shoot, then run back, shoot, back, shoot. You can get a free minion kill some times.

Okay, so I ran through some of the tutorials, and I'm angry at the game. can you please tell me if it stops yelling at me whenever I get low health and when I'm attacking a turret in front of my minions? It kept up with these annoying popups and interrupted my flow of game play. Grrr... thanks game, I realize that my clicking is slightly off, and my minions are idiots.
Also I feel bad, playing the all bots with me as the only player, I only died three times, but at the same time I didn't manage to push through my lane to the nexus... I barely damaged the third turret :(

Steep learning curve, as mentioned. Also, Ill add that playing solo against a bot seems soo much harder then against real players. I dunno why. Ive been playing some custom games to show the wife how to play, and we get creamed every time. Which is odd, becuase unless Im playing against a skilled player, Ill always do alright at least, and I cant make a dent against the bots

I bought Malphite for a change of pace from the Veigar mage type Ive been rolling. It was a huge change, and took some getting used to, but Im catching on quick. I can really kick some ass right now. I just won my team the game in my last match, 9 kills 2 deaths (1 I somehow got stuck on a busted pillar and couldnt get off it lol) And man I was fething rolling. There was a group of 3 champs that owned the bottom. It was Pantheon, some ice guy with a weird sword and Argar? I dunno, but I zipped down there, and just hammered them all into the dirt. It was glorious. After that I simply said "Lanes open" Felt like a BAMF
So after the arse whooping I received, I played against players, and was 5 and 4 until the final push of the game when my team just got overrun, and then I got 3 quick deaths, literally respawning, waiting a minute, respawning, waiting a minute, respawni-- oh we lost...

Yea when they over run you it can get sketchy. But I try and attack in spirts, and then dump my attacks on some greedy champs. You can turn that loss into a quick chance at a couple extra kills.

OH YEA, I saw something yesterday that I now what to know what it was. On the loading screen, someones character had a small red ribbon in the upper left corner of the "card" what does that mean?? I THINK he was playing Master Yi, if that even matters

That's part of Riot's initiative to improve the community- at the end of the game, you get a chance to click a green button to the right of the player to honor them. Depending on the type of honor you have, you get a different colored ribbon. Exactly how many honor votes you need I do not know.
Yeah, fighting defensively is, in my opinion, the hardest part of the game. You're outnumbered and outclassed, and the turrets are not going to help too much- so your job is to slow the enemy as much as possible without dying yourself. Which can mean one spell before you run, or leading them off into the jungle.

Ahhh thanks for clearing that up. I knew about the honor system and always spend all the honor I have on people in a few games. Didnt know about ribbons though.
Saving for an assassin me thinks. Just got my ass handed to me a few times by a REALLY skilled Master Yi player. I swear the dude was just walking behind me invisible because he killed me all the damn time.
