If its a friendly game, why not just use the rules in the tau dex and ignore FoC?

Well the rules in the codex give them a total of three ranged weapons (counting the pulse rifle on the shaper but not the carbine. It can only contain so much suck.) and a total of three units to use (shaper doesn't count as another type)

No special rules outside of stealth in forests and move through forests. Mediocre stat line without armor or special weapons. No armor and just ridiculously cheap troops with no options.

I guess it'd be fun to run all Kroot with hounds and Krootox as a Heavy option... Provided your opponent has no flamers, A11+, flyers, an armor saves of any kind, and the entire board is mysterious forests (Cause Kroot ignore 2, get buffed by 2, and 2 have a chance to hurt them.)

And even forgeworld stuff kinda blows. The Mounted Gnarlocs are the only unit besides Krootox with a large gun and count as MC. Goaded Gnarlocs and baggage Gnarlocs still suck. Options are severely limited.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

The best Kroot fandex is the Tau codex with counts-as models for battlesuits/fire warriors/etc. It takes a lot of conversion but, unlike a fandex army, you can actually use it.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Here is the latest 5th edition Kodex Kroot:

Hasn't been updated to 6th edition yet, a.o. because people wait for the Tau Codex first. Go here for more Kroot discussion: http://z8.invisionfree.com/KompletelyKroot/index.php? .
That said, the current Dark Eldar Codex might be usefull for "counting as" armies with low armour and fast open topped vehicles.

The 3rd ed Kroot dex wasn't that bad. I think it's cool that someone wants to play Kroot though!

The 3e Kroot book mostly suffered from lack of any way to deal with armor, but it could work with a few houserules.

There's a full counts as Dark Eldar Kroot fandex that actually looks damn cool, it's here: http://www.dakkadakka.com/s/i/at/2012/8/Forces_of_the_Kroot_6th_Edition-27200106.pdf

So many games, so little time.

So many models, even less time.

Ever tried to fight flyers with an eviscerator, their only viable anti-tank?
