New stretch goal is damned interesting...

The regiment is a little crazy there: 25 of those guys for $50? Damn that's cheap!

Can I just say that I LOVE this style of "pinup." What we would call "zaftig" in Yiddish. That "Rawhide Dame" - so awesomely zaftig...

And I assume that, post-Black Friday, the game (and extras) will be available in non-limited runs?

Are those armor kits complete miniatures?
Or just extra bits you can use to change the miniatures in the box?

There are enough pieces in the armour kits to make some new figures

If the rich lady is zaftig like these illustrations/minis, I wouldn't complain too much!

...though my wife might

Seriously though, I need to get over to the Swap Shop forum/Bartertown to unload some of my stuff to raise some more cash to pay for this Kickstarter. Did the same for the DreamForge KS a few months back, and am so glad I did.

couldn't we just have bigger stretch goals to get new items rather than smaller ones for minis we already get?
I only have a need for so many of the exact mini and can only paint so many duplicate minis.

They're already pretty big. The first one was 20k.

Yeah, I had the same thought. 'Maybe he should space these out more.' Then I thought about it, and 25,000USD is a pretty hefty chunk of money. I'd certainly like to see some new stuff added for free, but I have the impression that AP isn't exactly rolling in cash just yet. Or maybe he is, who knows. $25 for his resin miniatures are quite fair though, and the plastics for $15 seem like a great deal if the comparison shot is an accurate representation.

I am wondering if I was a little silly getting the Deluxe Survivor though. Eh, extra resins. Can't go wrong with that.

With the pace this is moving at combined with his own internal sales data for his 'regular' figures, hopefully this will help him figure out the demand for his stuff and ramp up production?

Unless, of course, his previous strategy was a very clever plan in order to build up the brand, create demand and then unleash the Kickstarter on the world to to tune of 3 million?!?

Anyway.... I'm all for stretch goals that aren't duplicates of figures we're already getting, if at all possible.

And yeah, the +$15 is on the high end of things...

I'm not sure of the use behind some of the stretches so far. The extra figures for the last two goals are nice models, but not exactly useful as they have no in-game purpose. At least with the SW duplicates they are planning on extra missions to use them... this doesn't seem to be something you can do with KD though

Extra armor models IS useful- you only get 4 of each type, but can have 6 players.

New monsters with rules will be really useful, though!

Or accessories like base inserts or the like.

I am actually quite surprised that they haven't padded it yet with all sorts of shinier cards, acrylic counters, sturdier box, etc., etc.,

44 days to go. At this rate, they'll have to have at least a 100 more stretch goals up their sleeve to keep folks entertained till January.

Yeah, extra armour is cool, but the three sets of extra monsters that we've got so far are useful only as display items. Having said that... given that the King's Men can be bought in packs of 25 there may be something we're not aware of coming up that will use them

When these were suggested Adam said he was already plaining to use the highest quality box (the KS box may be different from the retail box, being mat black & embossed but that was a throwaway comment so I'm not 100% certain he was serious), cards etc.

could well be why the sweet spot is $150 not $100 like Sedition Wars/Relic Knights where they did stretch to upgrade component quality

Fair enough.

But DreadBall also had their "sweet spot" at the $150 "Striker", had a much shorter run-time and still had several "padding" stretch goals.

Just think of the inverse. Is he going to add another 100 something miniatures to "Survivor" to keep it running for another 1 1/2 months? He'd end up having to ship people the game and "Bones-Quantities" of miniatures.

Or he'll have to start doing much larger intervals, etc.. . .

I think we'll start seeing bigger stretch goals for bigger monsters not included in the base game.

Maybe?

Expansions have been mentioned as being part of the KS if it goes well.
Rules that expand on character development along with unique weapons etc. would give a lot of room for stretches that aren't just armor set X x2 or Big Hand Monster.

The figures and kits are amazing. Too bad I have too many 28mm games. I'm looking for more 15mm games.

DEAR KINGDOM DEATH TEAM:

I contributed to the DreamForge KS, and followed the Dakka thread religiously, in part because Mark was (and continues to be) so consistently good about engaging with the community of his fans/customers/future customers. I highly recommend reading through that thread and seeing how he dealt with people, issues, etc. He didn't always give us exactly what we wanted (nor should he have), but he was always reasonable and clear in his explanations of decisions

So now, if I may humbly offer my suggestions to you guys on upcoming stretch goals, etc.:

I think that if you want me to spend more money (and I'm sure that others will feel similarly) you should make stretch goals involving some of your truly glorious, but nigh-impossible to acquire existing sculpts, like, making the Twilight Knight Pinup (just an example*... ), plastic or resin, available as an add on, I can GUARANTEE that I would throw down some more money. More fun monsters would be nice too (I am personally not a fan of the "Phoenix" monster, though I recognize that it's a very impressive sculpt). Moreover, perhaps this could be a way for you, as a business, to hook some of the KickStarter supporters on your pre-Monster line of goods as well (build the KD brand beyond just the Monster release!)

So, to recapitulate:

PLEASE make some of the amazing Kingdom Death existing catalog of brilliant minis available as possible future stretch goals. You've got more than 5 weeks to fill with goodies and reveals, and your line is already so amazing but SO HARD TO GET. Put nearly ANYTHING of yours into the KS as a add-on buy, and I will throw more money at you. As much as I can get away with, without alerting my wife...

Thanks for listening to us here at Dakka, and keep up the phenomenal work!

I disagree. All of the pinups are available for general release, and can be easily obtained from KD's own website or other retailers. Some may be out of stock currently, but they're not completely out of production. As such, putting them in with the kickstarter is of no value.

From what I can tell from their website, of the nearly 3 DOZEN really great figures shown, only FIVE are available in the shop. (The Forge God, Twilight Knight (non-Pinup version), The King's Hand, The Scribe, and The Architect Pinup ONLY). This is less than 15%...
