Seriously, though, arguing "well, the designer's a misogynist" doesn't endear you or the game to the general public. It's pretty clear that 10 years from now the entire TT community will feel awkward shame whenever anyone reminds us about the success of KDM.

Why would they feel an awkward shame? Does anyone that plays warhammer feel awkward shame about GW releasing demonettes with tat-tats showing? I'm pretty sure though are still extremely desirable minis for a lot of people.
I'd bet that 10 years from now we'll be laughing about playing TT games that didn't have Augmented reality interfaces and we had to rely on tape measures for distances.

Why does a little cleavage matter?
I'm worried about the safety of the little plastic people. They have to fight some rather deadly creatures and I think the cleavage window may be a safety hazard. Actually how dose that suit work as armor? I dosen't look that hardy.

The regen suit isn't supposed to. It's a pin up. If you're really interested, go read some on the gorm and the properties of its skin. I suspect you're not, so I won't even bother to provide you with a link.
Are you even bought in to the game, or are you complaining for the sake of being a troll?

The regen suit is made of a Gorm organ material that regenerates at astonishing rates. It's likely to have a terrible armor benefit, but a regeneration ability to make up for it.

It's an item. You make it out of the stomach lining of the gorn. BlueDagger probably has it right. I likely has low armor but the ability it repair itself. Good for hit and run attacks, but it might have other affects too.

*Snort* Yeah, he's a regular Joss Whedon (seriously, read that article, there is no finer example of hilarious feminist agitprop, being equal parts deeply offensive and marvelously myopic).
With regards to the actual topic of KD:M, all I can say is how excited I am about the translation from Lockman Lam's art to WIPs, it's almost beyond what anyone could have asked for. As pointed out above, the translation of the Sunstalker armors is... mind blowing. It may be the most faithful rendition of concept art, almost... perfectly faithful? Egads...

The thing about the exposed thighs and elbows could be explained away by the fact she's an archer- mobility over armour. As for the rest, underpants do help with sanitation, right? Several posts are skirting the line between disagreement and being impolite.
Kingdom of Death has always produced miniatures that generate...lively discussion due to the creative nature of the product. Objective criticism of a model is one thing--passive trolling and being rude to those whom you disagree with is another.
Please keep it polite, objective and on topic. Thanks.

I feel that you are reaching here.
I can accept that perhaps elbows should be exposed as there is indeed a joint there. I am not aware of any joint midthigh that needs to be exposed for increased manouverability. I am however, aware of multiple examples of exposed thighs in female armor as a form of sexualizing the armor and making it apparent that it is female. Also, a typical loincloth does not have distinctive straps as seen in the model. It "may not" be a g string, but that is the most probable possibility. G-strings and thongs are not sanitary items and have been show to cause vaginal infections. You can search the dirty details, I don't they're necessary here other than to point out that they are worn for sexual purposes, not for sanitation.

Is there any reason you deleted my post in defense of that article and left the ones bashing it as idiotic and insane? Given that it is not quite relevant to the topic, I fail to see how even handed moderation would single mine out.
Can you clarify what you consider objective criticism? Certain posters react to any critique of KD as being "Puritan" or claim that the individual is trolling. Are we going to turn a blind eye to such rudeness?
If we're going to arbitrarily censor criticism wouldn't it be prudent to simply ban all criticism of everything posted on this site? Of course that would defeat the very purpose of a public forum...

I haven't deleted or edited any of your posts within this thread--I only posted a warning. If you have any questions as to why something you posted was deleted, please feel free to e-mail any questions to: webmaster@dakkadakka.com.
That being said--if our conversation has moved from the discussion of a miniature to the sanitation of underwear--we have probably exhausted the topic. At this point, either you are comfortable with the nature of miniatures produced by Kingdom of Death or you are not--and if not--there is a great deal of other Dakka to enjoy. Any further posts regarding feminism, sexist ideology or the nature of under garments will be deleted as off topic. Thanks.

Agreed.
I completed my pledge manager earlier today:
Survivor level.
Expansions: Flower Knight, Dung Beetle Knight, Slender Man, Dragon King, Gorm, Spidicules, Sunstalker, and Lantern Festival. Freebies from Herald of Death.
Optional models: Spider Silk Assassin, Phoenix Dancer, Lantern Girl and Primal Huntress (for my cousin), and 2 Allisons along with 2 Messengers of Courage, one each for me, one each for my girlfriend (along with the free Regeneration Suit).
Final total: $540. I'm proud of myself for not adding any money through the manager. But seeing as I tacked on at least a hundred dollars on the final day, it doesn't quite mean as much. But hey, little victories.

I managed to make it through the pledge manager without adding anything- barely. I ended up with snagging a BDL Round 5, with 4 pin-ups( Dragon Sacrifice, Primal Huntress, Lantern Girl, and Twilight Witch), Dragon King, Gorm, Flower Knight, Beetle Knight, and the Lantern Festival expansion, and the Holiday White Speaker Nico at $370.

Sunstalker armor does not come with the game. Gorm armor does not come with the game. Not a single pin-up comes with the Game. The ones that come with the starter are the ones you've agreed look nearly the same.
There is nothing to "save face" for if someone disagrees with your assessment that they are sexist.

You seem to be confused. The sunstalker armor isn't a pinup model. It's the armor kit that comes form the sunstalker expansion. Same with the regeneration suit, but they haven't shown the armor model for that expansion. Also none of the armor kits are the same for both female and male. Even the silk armor looks different, though both do look like armor so I won't complain about it.

No.... I'm not confused. Those armors don't come with the base game. They're expansions. You don't have to buy the expansion. All of the armors from the base game that we've see look nearly identical save for the fact that one is male and one is female.

But I would like to play the expansions too. I'm not taking issue with the whole game or ya I wouldn't care and wouldn't buy. I do have issues with some parts though. Also I have seen the rawhide armor and it's shortened skirt and low cut neckline, so yes it is even with the most base armor.

Alright, here's one for you, then. I'd argue that the female in the Sunstalker armor set is better protected (in a sense), seeing as the teeth plating covers her lungs and heart region better than the man's. Keeping vital regions protected is important, after all.
Edit: I'm just going to take this part down because I'm worried about it coming off as rude.
