Holy gak, $60 for expansions like the Slenderman? If there was any doubt with some, this really is a boutique thing now.

$60 for the small(er) expansions is more than I expected, but I am not surprised by the Dragon King bumping to $150 - very fair for how big that model is, along with the bonus model content.

Oh this is going to hurt. I want to buy all of those expansions right now, but that's going to cost a LOT

So how would I go about building the Green Knight Armor if I bought that expansion? It doesn't seem to come with a way to build it in the core game, and it's listed as a standalone.

Iirc, the green knight armor has a crafting card in it, like the ones in the core game (Plumery for Phoenix stuff, etc.) Curious its listed as standalone... I thought it had dependencies on a number of other expansions, I think the Knight crests from the three Knight expansions.

Wow. $785 for all the expansions on the site currently. That's intense. Aren't a few of the expansions missing currently?

Gear recipes are on the backs of the cards, and all require weird stuff like special innovations. It takes the gorm and all three knights to get the resources to make that crazy set of armor. It's pretty out of control expensive (and appropriately powerful). I personally wouldn't recommend it unless you're really interested in playing at very high levels (makes the lantern armor look pretty easy to get).

oops, also requires spidicules and manhunter, so 6 non-core monsters

$800 even with the $15 flat shipping charge.

2 missing:
- Spidicules, due to the leg issue. Assume price of $125 or so.
- Lantern Festival, likely due to a print / production issue. Assume price of $150, like Dragon King.

Welp, there goes $800. Hopefully it's worth every penny

When Adam said it was flat rate shipping, he wasn't kidding. Was thinking of grabbing the Green Knight Expansion at $25 but it's still $15 to ship.

Haha! No. :(

Got my dragon king in the mail yesterday mere moments before they went up on the store. its a wonderful model and the additions of the tyrant plus two people of the stars survivors will hopefully make the high pricetag more worth it to anyone buying it retail.
When I pledged I only wanted a big dragon for cheap but now that I have played the game I'm eager to fight him.

Cynically, I suspect that the Dragon King is $150 to somehow try and claw back all the losses that must have been taken from listing it at $30 during the Kickstarter!

I don't know who the target market is at those prices, but clearly at least some people are willing to pay them, and the margins must be pretty nice.

I picked up all expansions minus the Lion God and Lonely tree the first time around. $75 For the Gorm seems like a great value, he's a lot of fun to fight and his gear is fantastic!

I'm debating on picking up the Lonely Tree, what are your experiences with it? Also, does anyone have any pictures of the Lonely Muse that they could upload? With a different expansion going up each month, I wonder how long until a new expansion hits.

Kingdom Death Fanatic. Dark Eldar: Kabal of the Fragile Breath. Dark Elves: Allegiance to the Black Crown. Also, Masons, Cygnar, and Legion of Everblight. All unnamed.

Holy gak that is an awesome username. Please tell me your army is called Kabal of the Fragile Breath. Morathi's Darkest Sin has some competition here for best handle, I think.

$15 flat rate shipping? How come Kickstarter backers had to pay $17 for shipping the same stuff?

Yeah... tempted to get the lion god and lonely tree(what I don't have already), but still resisting since they seem to have the least impact. Anyone feel they're great?

Also, anyone in the portland area want to split shipping (since I'm considering an order)?

For most of the expansions KS backers paid a third or less of what retail buyers will pay (1/5 for the Dragon King). Poots lost money on KS expansions there is most likely a healthy margin on the retail price so he can afford to subsidise the shipping at retail prices.

To put it in context KS backers paid $235 for all the expansions now available (assuming Herald of Death applied) versus $785 retail

What DaveC said. We got everything for less than the cost to manufacture it(at least with the Dragon King iirc). He charged us $2 extra, and it's also possible after shipping started that he realized he could afford to drop the cost a bit. Also possible enough folks added to the tip jar that he passed it on to preorders.

Has anyone had any experience with the 5 and 6 player variant rules? I have done some google searches and a few searches here, but I'm only coming up with OH DEAR GOD DON'T DO IT!
I beat a 4 person campaign once, and now that I have most of the expansions, there is a lot more interest in the game from my group of friends. I have seen some variants that sound interesting, but I would like to see what others think.

Book rules for reference +1 speed and +2 damage tokens, life equal to monster lvl + 2

Some of the modifications I have heard for the 5/6 player rules that sound more playable are:
+1 Speed token, +life equal to monster lvl + number of extra players
no extra rules what so ever
additional AI cards = to monster lvl + number of players
monster lvl 1 gets +1 speed token, lvl 2 gets +1 speed +1 damage tokens, lvl 3+ gets +1 speed +2 damage tokens and an extra AI card drawn each turn
draw an extra AI card each turn for the monster

Thoughts?

I kinda feel bad I didn't get a second one for posterity.

I think someone needs to post a picture of the Dragon King and all of its content next to a GW Imperial Knight Warden, which also retails for $150+.

Made a decision last week to get rid of all my Mantic stuff and was planning on using the proceeds for a bit of Guild Ball. Looks like I'm going to defer that in lieu getting my missed expansions. Kinda poetic I guess to turn Mantic restic into KD.

I haven't played but I've put both together. From a model perspective, the Lonely Tree isn't that awesome. The trunk is interesting but the branches are very two dimensional as they reach out and the leaves are just clumps on top of clumps. The Lion God is a nice enough model.

You'll have to ask someone else about how each of these ranks as a game expansion.

Okay.

They're comparable but the dragon is bigger.

I wanted to nab some of the expansions that I didn't grab in the kickstarter, specifically the Lion God and the Lonely Tree, but shipping alone is $115 for me @___@

...I may need to consider just not getting any expansions if that's going to be the price of shipping going forward. It does make me happy I grabbed what expansions I did during the Kickstarter though (when they ever arrive), but my lack of Spidicules is going to sting.

That aside, great to have that comparison shot of the Dragon King with the Knight, nice reference to show my 40k friends. Thanks

Do you mean acknowledgement, or a commitment to fix it? It was mentioned in the preorder email to explain why Spidicules wasn't available.

Well, poor show on their part then, you'd think they would jump out and nip this in the bud straight away, instead of keeping mum about it.

Okay, trading amidst others for the right sprue is great and helps out a lot, but not everybody has access to this.

It is ridiculous that they are trying to keep this issue with the Spidicules legs so quiet. That probably means bad news, like the keeping quiet about the additional shipping charges for the expansions until the last minute.

They probably can't afford to send people the right legs.

Just threw in $310 for the expansions I didn't pick up previously (Lion God, Sunstalker, Gorm, Dung Bettle Knight).
My previous pledge totalled $301 getting me the Herald of Death.

However that included a Resin Behind the Wall (let's say for argument sake, that has a value of $17 nulling the shipping cost) and I also sold my Survivor Box for $150 and the 2 Gencon Lantern cards for around $50.

Gives me a KS buyin of the game including all expansions released of $411. That ain't not half bad.

Poots could ring my doorbell tomorrow, kick me in the Jimmy and I'd still wave my wallet at him.

That's probably why he put expansions up for preorder-to get the money up to fix the leg issue.

Are there armor sprues in all of the expansions? Also, where is the flower knight still $25? Is that for backers?
