Nice work on the chest plates and edges. Bases look nice too, but too big for gaming so I guess they are just for looking?! My only criticism is they are a bit dull due to lots of dark and lifeless colours - perfect for actual recon but sadly it doesn't make them very pretty. A very good start though

Those look pretty good tbh. If I had to add some input, try painting your blacks, with a white primer followed by how ever many washes of black you like, that way the pants for example, have more detail then just flat black. Washes pool and so high spots are naturally lighter then the lows.

Also, for the highlights on your cloaks, id say next time, use 2 or 3 differing shades of grey, one on top of the other to give a better gradual fade. Currently, its just kindda WHOA! Heres the lines.

But pretty good job all around though

OK a novice just learning here is my nice and gentle. Seriously for a novice they are really good only thing I see they need is the face highlight toned down don't know if paint is too thick or what just they stand out as look at me when the rest is quite good, but lease the face doesn't kill the model. It's very good work good highlights and the bases are really good. Back to the face I just think it goes from light tones to dark too fast it needs more grace going from the one to the other.

Also I think the base rim black would be better but hey that's me

Hey guys

Cheers for that, ill def work on using multiple layers of grey to make it a smoother blend and same for the faces. I struggle a little with the blending of colours.

Really appreciate all the comments and constructive criticism

First off your supposed to remove the model from the sprue frame! Lol just kidding. Those look really good and clean. Good edges. Bases look good. Suggestion maybe change the color of the rim of the base it's sticks out IMO.

The scouts are great and well done bases too.

Really nice work. Although I too think the bases would look better with black rims.

Good job, black bases would be less distracting. Just keep painting and you will improve. This is a really great start, be proud.

Just forgot what I was going to say.

Looks good to me. I'd be proud to put those models on the table. I only have a couple of suggestions.

1- I second the opinion on the bases. The green is a little wierd for me. A grey to match the rocks, or a black would be my choice.

2- Try and get some photos without a flash. If you can get some indirect lighting (daytime indirect sunlight is best) we'll be able to see a lot more detail. I have a feeling there is more depth of color on your models than what is coming through on my screen because of the flash.

3- Maybe take a picture from the rear? Hard to see if there is any camo pattern on those cloaks or not. Someone might be able to give you tips on that area if you show them what you've already painted there.

Anyway, good job. I really like these and think they are well done.

They look really nice man! I love the fact you made them quite dark which being scouts works for me! your style is quite bold with the highlighting but you seem to have a steady hand and can do it evenly so everything looks excellent! well done.

Thanks everyone.
Ill try and upload some more pictures of them a bit later. I think ill be changing the base rim to black, i can see how the colour is distracting away from the colour of the bases.

As far as I can see the golden aquilas and shoulder pads are highlighted very well. I'd say a solid overall job, although you seem like you have just as hard a time painting black as I do.

These are not bad at all, with a bit of layering or shading in those faces and trousers these could look even better! Impressed with the shading on the aquilla and the pauldrons, look like the work of a more experienced painter! Keep it up!

Great bases, good painting. If you gona use them in game, those bases are not "rulewise", but i doubt any opponent would say anything...

Pretty nice models, I think that you are going to be a great painter!

One thing I'd recommend is to mix your black with a tiny bit of brown (or Tin Bitz for guns) to make it look less like a primer.

They look really awesome and i find that the dark colors go well with the base, it gives them a kind of "infiltrating enemie lines at dusk" edge

For a beginner like meself, it would be great to see more of your work. I could definitely learn much from what you're doing.

A like some forumers mentioned above, if this is what you can do as a beginner, then there are great things waiting for you!!

Cheers mate! Hope to see more shots!

*sigh* it's far better than anything i'm capable of. But because those who can't are critics, i'll second the toning down of the bases and blending the highlights a little.
