Simple question, can guard infantry squads split?
I remember reading somewhere saying that they could, though this could just be my memory rearranging itself and muddling up.

Nowhere in the codex does it say you can.
They can be combined with other infantry squads; but not split up.

You're memory is wrong in this case.

OK, I'll have to clear a few things up on another thread and make some apologies.

MARINE full strength squads can split into combat squads because they have that rule.
Guard infantry squads cannot as they do not.
Guard are not marines.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

A long time ago you could take remnant squads, and I think one of the old Doctrines allowed you to split Guard squads. However those rules are really not current

Nahhh, his memory is fine, it's just remembering old rules. Once upon a time, we could split the HW teams off and let them stay behind while the 8 man squad moved forward. Then in the first City Fight we could split them into two 5-man squads (basically combat squad them). But all long ago and far away.

Wrong as in how the OP stated, he's getting them muddled up.
It's all good though, happens.
