My bet is on Russ, not only is he a savage fighter but he survived infancy in the wild being raised by wolves.
I like the Hunger Games trilogy and I am sure this sort of poll has been taken before so please humor me.
Also should note that this is preheresy so no chaos shenanigans.
I think Guilliman or Lorgar would probably be the first to go. Guilliman was such an annoying git and Lorgar was more interested in praying than fighting.
Other notable mentions have to go to Horus and Angron. Horus would probably end up leading the careers and Angron would blow it by trying to kill every single living thing within arms reach.

Sanguinius, Magnus, or the Lion are the most likely winners, imho.
Magnus has the greatest psychic might, the Lion the best tactical understanding, and Sanguinius is, apparently, somewhere described as the most powerful primarch, but I can't source that so I'm less confident about it.

I was considering Magnus but his psychic power isn't as useful against other primarchs. Why the Lion? Doesn't have the survival skills and fought Russ to a standstill in a fair fight, but in the games Russ wouldn't fight fair.

Oh Please! The Lion grew up on a savage world as well, And was then mentored by the Order into a strong Tactician and Strategist. Its no contest! Heck they fought once already to a stand still.

What advantage does Russ have over Lion? He survived alone on Caliban as an infant on a planet near the eye of terror confirmed to have daemons in its' forests. Later on he organized The Order and they killed all of the daemons without the help of the Imperium.
They fought one another to a standstill, but Lion is the superior tactician and strategist. Also, his legion is cooler.

While yes it is true Lion El was found as a feral child, Leman Russ was raised by animals and after that a very primitive people. Lion El's people still had power armour for gods sake. What good does military training do you when stuck in a barren wasteland with nothing but 17 other superhumans around you wanting your head. Diddly squat thats what. Russ has what it takes. That's why I don't think Horus could win it, he is excellent at many different things but not the best at everything. In the games you have to be able to survive with basically nothing and be able to fight and those are two things Russ can do very very well.

Again Lion El's people had power armour and bolters and lets be honest these were some sort of chaos beasts prolly not Bloodthirsters or even Screamers. Automatically Appended Next Post:
I think Dorn would do very very well. He would probably try to find the high ground and set different kinds of traps to take his enemies out. Automatically Appended Next Post: Notice some votes for Fulgrim, hate to say it folks there wasn't any primarch better with a sword than Fulgrim he would prolly be one of the first to go along with Guilliman and Lorgar just because of how much a threat he is. Alpharius and Magnus take out Lorgar while Horus squares off against Guilliman and Angron goes at Fulgrim. The other 11 primarchs head for the hills,

Though I believe we can all agree that Roboute Gilliman was the greatest primarch because Games Workshop wanted us to know it.

Not saying that they are not survivors because they are, its just that some of them are better at it than other.
Just would be curious to see how it all shakes out. I can see Magnus getting involved in Angron an Fulgrims fight only to make a stupid mistake and nearly get decapitated. It wouldn't be until Horus dropped Guilliman an aids Angron that Fulgrim goes down. Angron's ferocity would be hard for Fulgrim to deal with, but his defense is second to none. Alpharius wants no part of Fulgrim or Guilliman so after dispatching Lorgar he hangs back. The remaining three careers stalk 3 or 4 more primarchs prolly taking down Khan, Manus, and Kruze. Not sure what would happen with Perturabo, Corvus an Vulkan. I can see Mortarion trying to swing some sort of alliance with Horus though. Sanguinius is really the wild card because as someone else said he is a bad ass.

In terms of killcount:
Fulgrim has "killed" 2 Primarchs.
and
Horus dropped Sanguinius and the the freakin EMPEROR back to back.
Just sayin...
Personally I think some people are just voting for their favorite here, not who would actually WIN.
Also, vv_DryBones_vv has a very valid point. Are the traitor Primarchs Daemonified or not? Quite important.

Yes Horus dropped the Emperor but that was after many blessings from the Chaos Gods. Fulgrim was daemon possessed as well, but his skill was unmatched he could have killed Guilliman or Ferrus Manus without demonic help.
Again Russ or the Lion wouldn't just stand around waiting for the fight, an Dorn and Perturabo would have castled somewhere trying to lure the others in.

I would go with Alpharius or Magnus. The winner of this probably won't be the best fighter. Actually the big sitters would be the first to kill each other off. Winning would require more planning and deception which are more in those two's wheelhouse.

Or Khan for the strike at the last moment win.
Or Corax for the stealth kill win.
Or Dorn for the.... wait... wut??
Why no Omegon? The two of them combined made up the primarch of the Alpha legion... thats not fair... unless everyone else has to fight with one arm and leg behind their back...

Lion goes after Horus because he thinks he should have been Warmaster as he was the First one to be created. Mortarion and Russ jump on Magnus who is trying to do some magic mumbo shizzle and quickly put him down.

Peturabo and Kurze double team Dorn, who gets flattened and sliced at the same time.

Lorgar is stood there trying to stop the fight.
Alpharius and Omegon are keeping their heads low and just bidding their time. Angron goes after Sanguinius as he's the only one to offer a challenge but he flies away. This annoys Angron who, unsurprisingly, gets angry and starts to yell. This attracts the attention of Ferrus who punches his head off.
A Cannon Sounds in the distance
Lorgar is still trying to diffuse the situation, not understanding what this is all about, once again no one is paying him any attention though.
Kurze and Corax are duking it out claw to claw until Vulkan turns them both to crispy critters with his flamer, that duly explodes as Ferrus crushes it with his hand flinging them both backwards.

A Cannon Sounds in the distance
Alpharius and Omegon, never to turn down an opportunity, rush over to Ferrus and use his own fists to beat him to death with in 'stop hitting yourself' style. Vulkans stricken form is then poked a few times in the brain by Fulgrim who has done little but laugh at the whole situation and talk to himself.
A Cannon Sounds in the distance
A Cannon Sounds in the distance
After sharing an 'I never liked the one eyed git' moment Russ starts to punch Mortarion in the face, who after a few hits to the noggin', decides that he doesn't like being punched much and quicker than you can say 'there are no wolves on Fenris' slices Russ in half with his Manreaper. Russ was never that bright.

Fulgrim is talking to himself and Lorgar who looks somewhat confused.
The Khan has been running around chasing Sanguinuis who is still flying around like a fairy. Unfortunately for him, Sanguinuis is aware of this, who flies over a wide chasm which the Khan plummets into after not paying enough attention as to where he was running.
