Poll
Will the knights dominate the bugs like they used to back in 5th?
Yes, grey knights still have all the tools to do so.
Draw. Grey knight firepower is matched by tyranid resiliency.
No, with the vehicle nerfs and the dominance of the new psychic nids, the knights will struggle.

Can that GK army actually win against anything?

If you want to test your nids then why not play against quality armies?

Do these types of 'Nid lists have trouble against Necron triple annihilation barge setups? Double force organisation 6x annihilation barges would surely be a nightmare?

PS I was going to ask this in the necronid thread, but I didn't want to necro it.

My opponent, who is also going to the BAO as well, wanted to practice against my army. And I didn't mind playing against the grey knights as well. I don't refuse any challengers.

Actually, I feel that tyranids matches up well against necrons. I myself as a necron player have trouble against tyranids. Every game I've had with Janthkin's bugs have been a tough, tough game with my crons having to battle back from behind for the hard-fought victory. And when I played as bugs against Janthkin's necrons, I felt that I was in control for most of the game (of course, if my opponent hadn't failed 3 key LD tests which saw 2 units run off the board, things might have been different). In any case, all my experiences between tyranids and necrons (where I've been on both sides) have been close, hard-fought games.

Triple-AB necrons are good, but sometimes, even they won't do much to a T8/9 Iron Armed tervigon. The one thing I constantly felt as a necron player was that I just didn't have enough firepower against the bugs, even with 3 AB's and 3-4 night scythes! Now 6 AB's on the other hand may be a different story (though I'm trying to not spam units like that).

Thanks! I am so glad that there are people who recognize a Deathscythe! You will be amazed how many times I have had to desperately explain that: No, it is not a Transformer!

You guys are in for a little treat. Here are some pics from my unpublished Apoc battle between the forces of Chaos and the forces of Good. If you look closely, you may just see Grey Therion's lego thunderhawk in there.

The Battle of Armageddon II - Angron and his forces of Chaos versus the Imperial Guards, Space Wolves and Grey Knights:

Chaos ended up killing the Thunderhawk but not the Reaver Titan. However, the Imperium ended up winning the war, killing the Chaos Warhound, An'ggrath and Angron in a dominating victory.
