Tsons fill a very specific role and arent even too good at that for their cost. I wouldnt use an elite choice on them and MoT on a sorcerer is pretty bad as you waste a power.

They can work though, give them a try.

Well, TS are not really worth it. Too expensive and too limited.
But I'd consider an ally detachment consisting of the deadly Tzeentch Daemons with Flamers and Screamers.

As a huge 1k sons fan I'll admit that they are not as great as they should be for their points cost. However, if you play against a lot of MEQ armies like I do they can be quite powerful, but most players will typically just throw a lot of bullets at them since they die just like normal CSM and are double the cost.

If you regularly fac etons of space marines that are not fully mech-ed up, Thousand Sons can work. Otherwise, they are very inneficient. Getting many of them will hurt your anti-tank, since you have no special weapon options, their CC is rather poor and you have to keep risking your expensive sorcerer in mandatory challenges.

In Boxing matches, you actually get paid to take a dive and make the other guy look good.

In Warhammer 40K, you're expected to pay cash out of your pocket for the privilege of having Marines and IG trample all over your Xenos/Chaos.

Cute wife. Remember, 40k, it costs your time, it costs your money, it costs your life (err wife).
Bach to the topic, the CSM codex is disappointing: fluff, wargear, useless units...

im inclined to agree. I spent several hours going over the codex, and the only.list that appealed to me was either a tsons or abandon/chosen army. Many things cost too much, and a lot.of the deep striking capabilities seem to have disappeared. Rhinos being the only transport is also pretty bad, though land raiders can also he used, they're too expensive. I mean, when one of the first things in the faq is a points change for a unit, you know somethings wrong. Aside from the literal copy and paste job of the fluff.

Thousand Sons are quite good if you run them as troops.

AP3 & 4++ & a Sergeant Psyker makes them good IMHO.

I've read that noise marines are great troops for holding objectives

I am of the opinion that you can take a bunch of different things as long as you include both of these guys.

Sorcerer, 3 powers, familiar all Telepathy powers
Sorcerer, 3 powers, familiar all Telepathy powers

Give them a bike if you want for more mobility, but these two guys are just to good. They give invisibility to the unit you really need. They can gang up and remove fearless from anything and then hit it with Haulucination. They can take over the guns of any enemy vehicle or MC. They are nuts and all for the price of a loyalist land raider.

To me the biggest hit in the book was nerfing the beacon effect that icons once had, this alone would have made warp talons playable and termicide drops still effective. That and I am not a fan of the new demon weapons to be honest but I never took them before anyway really.

Thanks for pointing out. In fact, they'll need bikes for mobility and a Biker escort for protection.

Not sure you need the escort -- if you have enough infantry in your army, the Sorcerers can just zip from one unit to another, and still be near enough to the enemy to do what you need them to do.

Well, I wouldn't use them as an escort for Sorcorers who want to stay at arm's length. Spawn are more geared towards assault and should be brought there asap.

For that would you just get a bike and throw the sorcerer torso on there?

Growing more fond of the noise marines too. They're not too expensive and that doom siren makes them a pretty awesome MEQ choice.
