I'm putting my Templar army, what do you think of a plasma pistol on my Chaplain? Too expensive? It looks really cool I was going to do it so it and his crozius arcanum were reflecting light on his arms and shoulder pads. I think it'd look pretty tight.

Go for it; having AP 2 weapons are more dependant now where I play (due to several GK and Deathwing armies) and the high strength will help with wounding.

It'll work rather well, I think; you're only dumping 125pts into a Master of Sanctity with a plasma pistol, you've got BS5 still, and three Wounds and 4++ to deal with Gets Hot.

you can use regular armor saves against "Gets Hot"

Also it's an opportunity to snipe out any 'hidden powerfists' or the like when you're charging in thanks to 'precision shot.'

You can give him "master-crafted" too so you can re-roll those ones if needed.

honestly I dont think the PP is worth it, but it isn't terrible. Do what looks cool

I dont see it being worth the points but if you are wanting to model and paint it you will be much happier with the model the cooler you make it look.
