Subject: how to find forgeworld's "40k approved" models?

is there an easy way to figure out which FW models have the "approved for 40k standard games" stamp:
a quick peak at the FW website didn't turn up anything. does it only appear in the FW rulebooks? if so, which one(s) do I need to be looking at? just IA:A2?
cheers and happy holidays

Elysians are IA:8 IIRC I'm assuming they have the stamp.

nope its not till IA 11 that it appears - but I think Elysians are updated in the new IA no 1 book so I guess it will be there but I don't have that one yet. I don't know about the Horus Heresy book either?
(*) - partly due to GW be annoying and not allowing orders froms stores and partly as I have most of the info from the previous IA books and getting sick of the same info being reprinted in lovely but expensive books. I am very happy with the quality of the FW books for the price but the content in the last few books seems a bit repatative - exception is the much awatied Horus Hereesy book - that does seem overpriced.

a follow up question:
I had thought that IA:A2 was the most current book, but amazon tells me that came out almost 2 years ago (oops). if I'm primarily interested in SM and CSM models, which FW books should I be looking at (preferably ones that have been updated for 6th ed)?

You are thinking of Imperial Armour: Apoc Second Edition. That's the newest one.
Pretty much any 40k model that is 40k sized (as opposed to things like Super Heavies) is intended and legal for use in regular 40k.

Yup, without devolving into cyclical arguing like the other thread, you can pretty safely assume that Forgeworld means for their "official" stamp to be on everything they produce aside from Titans and Superheavies, which are "meant" to be balanced for Apocolypse games.
So if you and the people you regularly play with are OK with Forgeworld stuff, any of their normal models shouldn't be am issue.

Basically anything that isn't a "super" or a gargantuan or doesn't have structure points is made for standard 40k games.

They only started putting the Stamp on there with IA:11 I believe, so IA:11, IA Apoc 2nd edition, IA Aeronautica and IA Volume 1 2nd edition.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.
New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts. |

IA:Apocalypse 2 was the first book, actually. So between those books and the pdf updates they've pretty much covered everything. There might be an obscure unit or two that didn't get a stamp because it hasn't been mentioned in ages, but all of the well-known stuff other than superheavies and gargantuan creatures is now 40k-approved.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices. |
