So my local meta has some epidimus/csm lists and they are doing really well. I wanted to start a discussion about how to deal with epidimus and avoiding the tally because some of those powers get rediculous.

But a T5 5+ invulnerable and FnP is tough to crack quickly. Further he only costs 115 and represents a bad point trade off for the amount of effort you need to go to to kill him.

What does Dakka do to handle him and the tally?

Remember the tally on works as long as Epidemius is on the board. Then epidemius can only be in a group of plagubearers, beast of nurgle or nurgling swarm, that or by himself, and by himself would be ridiculously easy to kill

If he doesn't come on first turn (because of not getting his preferred wave or mishaping), the tally doesn't start until he arrives, and stops working when he dies

That squad is not that hard that hard to kill. They suck in combat and the rest of the squad will only have 1W each. Don't worry about high strength, or low ap, just a large amount of shots.

I've run very low model count elite armies against them. With only 25-30 badasses on the table, it is very hard to get the tally high enough to matter.

Yes it is basically that.

he has less than a 66% chance of coming down first turn in those lists, so many games he wont start on the board.

when he isnt on the board, expose yourself and try to kill as many his nurgle units as possible.

In the event he does come down, you want to kill him quickly. Think about your own deep striking shooty units. DE Scourges, Termicide, Drop Sternguard(needs another pod so they come in second). T5, 5++ is best countered with posioned weapons, which can save your high str low AP shots for the plague marines and oblitorators.
